- ScottMcIntyre, on 11/13/2008, -0/+19Certainly, Marilyn Monroe's suicide was a bonanza for people to make money out of their association with her.
Everyone seemed to have some nude photos or scandalous story to tell about her. They were like vultures-both while she was alive and even more so following her death. It's a real shame that Marilyn herself didn't profit from her own success while she was alive. - rhapsodisiac, on 11/14/2008, -0/+11Why is princess Diana not listed here?
- badwithcomputer, on 11/14/2008, -1/+12but someone writing an article about celebrity tragedy, on the heels of a recent one that appears on the list, to generate website traffic that leads to potential ad revenue...nothing egregiously exploitative about that.
- xinemae, on 11/13/2008, -1/+10"they're not merely wind-up circus monkeys put here to tickle our fancy"
They're not? Damn I've been wrong for sooooo long. - GuacamoleSan, on 11/14/2008, -2/+10What, no Heath Ledger?
- kitsua, on 11/14/2008, -1/+7That was actually a pretty good list and a very well written article.
In the UK, the exploitation by the media of Princess Diana's death almost equals everything mentioned here, however. - adammharvey, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5buried for the writer seeming like a complete snob. couldn't stand his writing.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4What about Christopher Reeve? A rich movie star busts his spine doing dangerous equestrian stunts and all of a sudden the whole world is supposed to stop spinning until he can walk again.
Sorry Christopher Reeve, breathing isn't yet an Olympic sport: http://www.baltimoresun.com/media/photo/2001-12/14 ... - Finalreminder, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3Dugg for using that awesome word 'Egregiously'
- SnakeLemma, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3Good list, although along with some of the others mentioned in the comments, Anna Nicole Smith is another big one missing. The press went *****, and covered not only her death, but the child custody case or whatever afterward.
- rcholbi, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3And you are adding to the exploitation.
- Bigcolby, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2Best. URL. Ever.
By the way if you google egregiously, this is like the 5th result. - ZincSaucier, on 11/14/2008, -2/+4nude celebrity death suv
- paradox4190, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1sorry, I forgot my ad block was on.
my bad - Gatesophile, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2This, coming from a site called "Nude Celebrity Death SUV"
- cle2105, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2If an entertainer wants to remain out of the paparazzi spotlight, they can. Just look at Tom Hanks and Jody Foster. The celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, who are always in the gossip magazines, do it to stay relevant and market their brand
- cle2105, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2Does it count if you exploit yourself? Christopher Reeve never gave a ***** about charity or humanity until he got hurt, and then it was a cure for his own disability using other people's money that he sought
- amoirae, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1The television coverage of the Hudson murders was ghoulish. It was even on Northwest Cable News, though it was on CNN in the afternoon where it seemed like they were drooling for details.
- shipwreck58, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1I care not one bit about any of those supposed celebreties "tragedies". Burried!
- lvliv, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2I was hoping to see a Kurt Cobain on there.
- thedez, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1Heath didn't have that large of a public life. The only thing that most non-fans knew about him before Batman was Brokeback Mountain. Without that movie he wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the publicity following his death, including the huge hype machine buildup to the Batman movie. Of course this says nothing of his talent.
- marioara, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1tragedy sells better than happiness

- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+1Celebrities make a deal with the devil and use the media to boost and sustain their careers. This is the price they pay and let's face it, for most of them, the only thing than being in the media spotlight is being out of it.
- AtraNoxVII, on 11/14/2008, -1/+1No one likes a smart ass.
- AtraNoxVII, on 11/14/2008, -2/+2Why is Princess Diana, Aaliyah, and Heath Ledger missing from this list?
- jefffiebs, on 02/12/2009, -0/+0That's just sick and disgusting, what has this world come to? http://highqualitymoviedownloads.info
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+0What, no Pee Wee Herman?
- cddict1, on 11/14/2008, -2/+1They all were opportunist.
- paradox4190, on 11/14/2008, -2/+1except for the fact that there were no ads on that page
- Rotaryknight, on 11/14/2008, -2/+0We all feed on tragedy
It's like blood to a vampire
Vicariously, I
Live while the whole world dies
Much better you than I
The latter part of it much defines the topic of the story. - anitafagina, on 11/14/2008, -5/+1I need to watch things die
From a good safe distance
Vicariously, I
Live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same so
Why can't we
Just admit it
