I'll always remember him for seaQuest DSV and 2010.- huckdunsany, on 02/11/2008, -0/+30Agreed. "2010" was a sadly under-rated movie, and Mr. Scheider was a large part of it's success. I'll really miss him.
- nospinhere, on 02/11/2008, -0/+12I think you're going to need a bigger boat.
- rspeed, on 02/11/2008, -0/+3Oh man, THANK YOU for getting that right! People always say "we're" which completely ruins the line.

- grimward, on 02/11/2008, -0/+19Ah yes, Seaquest, one of the few scifi series that I actually thought the captain ruled in.... RIP
- Matsky, on 02/11/2008, -0/+16Heath Ledger shocked me, but this just genuinely made me sad.
- SolidSnake24, on 03/28/2008, -0/+7Don't forget The French Connection, he was magnificent in that!
- Zalyster, on 02/11/2008, -9/+2I was glad when I read this, because I thought it said Rob Schneider...
- thetanman, on 02/11/2008, -0/+5WEIRD.... I was just watching an old episode of seaQuest this morning on netflix for the first time in about a decade, then I pull up Digg and see this. Same thing happened the day Richard Pryor died... my dad and I watched a concert together only to hit my homepage later and see this big memorial. We were freaked out.
- daRoach, on 02/11/2008, -0/+9Don't watch anything I love anymore.

RIP - headingeast, on 02/11/2008, -11/+56I saw this and thought "oh yeah, rob schneider is dead!!"
then joy turned to sorrow
RIP- bloggerjul, on 02/11/2008, -12/+6why would you want rob shneider dead?... really...?
go bury yourself...- headingeast, on 02/11/2008, -13/+6because he is a plague upon the entertainment industry
the movies he has befouled by "acting" in them have taken up scripts and crews that could have been used to make good movies

- smashv2, on 02/12/2008, -1/+0The real question is why would you want Rob Schneider to live?

- lcarsdeveloper, on 02/11/2008, -1/+10That's easily the best comment in this entire thread. We should raise a glass to them both.
- FizixMan, on 02/11/2008, -0/+8Hear, hear!
- vivaladisney, on 02/11/2008, -2/+25Really a tragic loss. Roy Schneider was one of those guys that just had such a likable quality about him. He will be sincerely missed.
- dildoolielly, on 02/11/2008, -12/+6Tragic loss?! He was 75 years old! Do you know how many men live to see 75?
Tragic loss? This should be a celebration!- ddiggs, on 02/11/2008, -3/+975 years is still young these days!
- vivaladisney, on 02/11/2008, -2/+7Just because a dog is 10 years old doesn't mean it's not sad when it gets hit by a truck.
- BubbaBubberson, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1Roy Schneider was hit by a truck?!?
- vivaladisney, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Oops, I meant Dennis Weaver. You've seen Spielberg's "Duel", right?

- halleyscomet, on 02/11/2008, -1/+7His reaction shots really helped humanize the protagonist. While he was clearly vulnerable you could tell he was just enough of a badass to make a good cop, but was in over his head on this one.

...don't be surprised to see best buy try to cash in on this like last month with Heath Ledger.- sittered, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1No offence to Roy, but I doubt it. He was mainly in movies during the late 70s early 80s. Best Buy won't make a lot of money from that.
- MacEnvy, on 02/11/2008, -0/+2Older DVDs have a higher profit margin than new releases, you know.

- rspeed, on 02/11/2008, -0/+2It's you're. Brody didn't consider himself to be part of the crew.

- AshamedAmerican, on 02/11/2008, -3/+3That was Robert Shaw, not Roy Schreider.
- aceakm, on 02/11/2008, -3/+3When did I say it was Roy Schreider?
- Capskid8, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1i think he was just quoting the movie...not the actor. good quote
- AshamedAmerican, on 02/11/2008, -3/+3That was Robert Shaw, not Roy Schreider.
- rebotfc, on 02/11/2008, -4/+6RIP Mr. Schneider, Jaws was Speilbergs best film.

- kwilliam71, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1J.A.F.O. - I don't know why, but I thought that was the coolest. Then again I was 10 years old.
- ReelVideo, on 02/11/2008, -16/+3Anyone else think that it was the character "Jaws" from James Bond?
- Ambassadeur, on 02/11/2008, -2/+3No, I thought the same thing!
- Capskid8, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1...omg. how do you even respond to this.
- grahamgrafx, on 02/11/2008, -0/+6i didn't follow allot of his work, but my favorite movie is jaws and when i read the book no ones voice came over more defined in my imagination then roy scheider's, not even robert shaws. scheider fit the character from the original book perfectly. Amity's Police Chief Brody is Roy Scheider. Roy Scheider is Amity's Police Chief Brody.

I watched your films growing up and I was sad to see how (at least it seemed that way) you were under-appreciated (if casting has any say in that).
I loved your work in
