- Dysarthria, on 10/31/2007, -166/+1405When is she gonna reveal the whole series is gay?
- inactive, on 10/29/2007, -12/+526Seems like kinda a random fact to throw in after the story is done.
- Arden1395, on 10/31/2007, -12/+420That woman needs to stop reading HP fanfiction. Seriously.
- Kronos6948, on 10/29/2007, -24/+344Thanks, JK for perpetuating the stigma that if a man doesn't marry, he must be gay.
- anamericangod, on 10/29/2007, -7/+297Now if only Hermione was bi-curious.
- shaun3000, on 10/29/2007, -18/+262So I'm confused... the series is over. How is it the author is "revealing" details about the story? It sounds more like making ***** up to keep people interested. What's to keep her from saying, "Harry killed a kid in cold blood but covered it up and never told anyone?" It's not in the book, no references is made to it, so why not? Am I missing something here?
- RadiantBeing, on 10/31/2007, -4/+241This passage about Dumbledore's flamboyant purple velvet suit from chapter 13 of The Half Blood Prince makes a lot more sense now:
"This younger Albus Dumbledore's long hair and beard were auburn. Having reached their side of the street, he strode off along the pavement, drawing many curious glances due to the flamboyantly cut suit of plum velvet that he was wearing." - rjc5056, on 10/26/2007, -11/+228FOX NEWS: "***** Iraq! Breaking news. Turns out that our chilren aren't only reading Satanic instruction manuals but homoerotic smut at the same time. Possible lesbian J.K. Rowling has recently brought up that a main character in her Harry Potter books was, in fact, a gay. This brings into question his constant lingering around underage children. To discuss the problems with this perverted publication we brought in our resident media experrt, Jack Thompson..."
- CH3CH2OH, on 10/29/2007, -12/+197Don't worry, Albus, I'm sure everyone will be behind you... oh, wait.
- Mikejoneswho5, on 10/29/2007, -11/+181So thats why they call him the "head master" at hogwards
- whatthefu, on 10/31/2007, -5/+167'Jo also said after revelation: "Just imagine the fan fiction now." '
I lol'd. - melkorsbane, on 10/31/2007, -21/+181You had to see this coming. Flamboyantly purple robes? Come on, that spells flamer in all caps.
- moskaudancer, on 10/29/2007, -2/+149Yeah, seriously, some of them are just Diggers.
- inactive, on 10/24/2007, -28/+149Well, they were ALL gay, of course. The wizards. The witches. The ghosts. Even the owls. And then there were the gay mice. And all the bestiality between Hagrid and the animals was hushed up too. Those midnight parties and the hot tubbings. Oh, the humanity.
This is going to make the Christian Right froth and spit for sure. - acrodev, on 10/31/2007, -3/+99I had my money on Prof. McGonagall.
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -7/+94Let's be clear. Dumbledore is not gay. He just likes to have sex with other males who are looking for sex with male wizards.
- cnot3, on 10/29/2007, -23/+103The perfect first comment.. I applaud you, sir!
- SchnuggleMe, on 10/23/2007, -8/+83Plz to be linking me to fundamentalist freak-outs.
- OgnodoD, on 10/29/2007, -8/+82I've got to agree. This is worse than the ***** epilogue. I don't care if DD is gay (I'm gay myself), but I do care that this doesn't seem to go very well with the story.
She also said that DD fell in love with Grindelwald. The heck? The kind of relationship DD and Grindelwald had was crucial to certain parts of book seven and it didn't at all appear to be of a homosexual nature. DD was drawn to the dark side by the power of the idea of doing something for the greater good, not Grindelwald's shoe size. Good lord, if she really was trying to hint at a homosexual interest, then she must not know many of us homosexuals. - blackyiraqi, on 10/27/2007, -25/+99Cruise announcer: And if you look of the left side of the ship you'll see a bunch of homosexuals.
Cruise announcer: (in Spanish) A la izquierda del barco podemos ver los 'fanny bandits.' - shyner, on 10/26/2007, -9/+75http://bash.org/?111338
Seemed appropriate. - Jrr6415sun, on 10/29/2007, -5/+65she's writing an encyclopedia with all these facts. Obviously she can't put everything into these books or they would be drawn out and boring.
I've heard her speak about the Harry Potter world, and she has definitely made the world in detail before telling the story. - inactive, on 10/21/2007, -7/+65Don't forget the goblins. Even their name is gay.
- boyasunder, on 10/29/2007, -11/+66Goddamnit. I'm gay _and_ an HP fan... and even I thought that was pretty ***** funny.
Bastard for makin' me laugh... - Gir53457, on 10/29/2007, -2/+57And you recalled that obscure quote off the top of your head?
- inactive, on 10/29/2007, -3/+57Dumbledore puts on his robe and wizard hat...
- defectDS, on 10/24/2007, -2/+53gay, not a pedophile.
- UncrnLdy, on 10/22/2007, -3/+51Just knowing what Aunt Petunia would have said was enough... but knowing the rest of the secrets was great!!!
- philomatic, on 02/08/2009, -2/+49obligatory link to: http://bash.org/?111338
- kickcows, on 10/23/2007, -3/+48i was just saying "i'm surprised this hasn't hit digg yet" and i hit refresh and there it is.
:) - Xieg, on 10/22/2007, -7/+50I kinda... Don't care anymore. *shrug*
- wellyuk, on 10/29/2007, -2/+45a HP fan? You gay or something?
Oh... - TheCount, on 10/23/2007, -1/+42She wrote seven books, she can claim whatever she wants at this point. I would assume that, as with most writers, even when the book's over, the characters are still alive in their heads.
- Rikushix, on 10/29/2007, -2/+41"I have other means by which I can make myself invisible" - Dumbledore
Oh my. - KidKenosha, on 10/29/2007, -1/+40And Ron once killed a man in Reno, just to watch him die?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -8/+45I like the series and all, but that was funny
- Encablossa, on 10/25/2007, -7/+43Oh die already you stupid quote.
- lukasmach, on 10/26/2007, -3/+38This (from Deathly Hallows) is even better:
"Whereas the wang would be bound to attract trouble--"
"Only if you shouted about it," argued Ron. "Only if you were prat enough to go dancing around waving it over your head, and singing, 'I've got an unbeatable wang, come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.' As long as you kept your trap shut --"
"Yes, but could you keep your trap shut?" said Hermione, looking skeptical. "You know the only true thing he said to us was that there have been stories about extra-powerful wangs for hundreds of years."
"There have?" asked Harry. Hermione looked exasperated: The expression was so endearingly familiar that Harry and Ron grinned at each other.
"The Deathstick, the Wang of Destiny, they crop up under different names through the centuries, usually in the possession of some Dark wizard who’s boasting about them. Professor Binns mentioned some of them, but -- oh it's all nonsense. Wangs are only as powerful as the wizards who use them. Some wizards just like to boast that theirs are bigger and better than other people's"
"But how do you know," said Harry, "that those wants -- the Deathstick, and the Wang of Destiny -- aren't the same want, surfacing over the centuries under different names?"
"What if they're all really the Elder Wang, made by Death?" said Ron.
Harry laughed: The strange idea that had occurred to him was after all, ridiculous. His wang, he reminded himself, had been of holly, not elder, and it had been made by Ollivander, whatever it had done that night Voldemort had pursued him across the skies and if it had been unbeatable, how could it have been broken?" - chillsk8er, on 10/26/2007, -13/+47If Digg had a "superdigg" option where I could give you +10 diggs for a comment but I could only use it once a year, I would.
- gpace1216, on 10/23/2007, -0/+33since every other male character in the book got married...like siruis, and snape, and slughorn, and flitwick and....
- devila2208, on 10/23/2007, -4/+36It's pretty routine nowadays to make at least one character the token gay character : (
- Alfdog, on 10/25/2007, -5/+35I put on my robe and wizard hat.
- ZenMojo, on 10/21/2007, -3/+33Even if he was a douche, I'd be cool with it.
- Professr, on 10/23/2007, -4/+33Ian McKellan rocks though, so I'm cool with it.
- gullydwarf, on 10/29/2007, -1/+30No mention of Luna Lovegood.
- jnosanov, on 10/23/2007, -4/+32I can't believe you said that. You're so disgusting.
- cleanideas, on 10/29/2007, -35/+63Dumbledore is gay? Wow! That's pretty damn cool! Since most kids realize they are gay when they are 12 or 13, the same time when heterosexual kids realize they like the opposite sex, this should help them all see that it's alright to be gay! Cheers to J. K. Rowling!
- djphatjive, on 10/22/2007, -6/+33Well the LOTR wizard is Gay, Well in real life anyway!
- carl25, on 10/29/2007, -6/+33are there gay spells ?
- morninglorii, on 10/23/2007, -1/+26Actually, it's not - she was answering a question. I have a friend who was at that reading, and he said that someone asked her about Dumbledore's love life, so she answered. It's not like she was like "OMG EMERGENCY PRESS CONFERENCE FOR EVERY1 DUMBLEDORE CAUGHT TEH GAY"
