- Swishkid44, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I love both the mummy and the mummy returns and look foward to the third, but what direction is this franchise going when the next film will be directed by the guy who directed XXX and the fast and the furious? Although both of those movies had plenty of well-done action scenes, the mummy franchise has much more drama and plot involved (as well as the amount of special effects involved) and I'm not sure if rob cohen is the right man for the job.
I don't see how they can just write out one of the main characters, unless Rachel Weisz's character will be played by another actress which would ruin the movie for me. And which one of those were actual good movies, with the exception of sin city 2 and the constant Gardner all of those movies have been *****, just pointing that out.
That doesn't mean shes not a good actress, I'm glad she backed out of the mummy 3, at least she saved herself the embarrassment of this ***** trap. Does she do theater on the side or something? It would seem senseless to turn down a role like that. I'm sure they're offering her a substantial amount of money.
