      If it were legalized, then the government would manufacture it like cigarettes, throw in god knows what ingredients, and tax the hell out of it. (Granted, the price would drop to about $60 an ounce, but the quality would drop a significant amount too)

      Best case scenario is that the governments decriminalized. That way, you could keep smoking clean, reliable killer and only get hit with a small fine when getting caught smoking in public. (or, just have your joint confiscated)

        I totally agree that they would tax the hell out of it... (and probably abuse it enough that contraband would creep back in)

    People wonder why it hasn't been legalized. Try gaining support for a drug war with weed being legal when 87% of drug crimes deal with cannabis.

    The "drug war" as you see it on TV is funded almost entirely by cigarette and alcohol companies so they can draw a distinction between legal and illegal drugs. They know that if people can use cannabis legally, they'll be out of a job.

    And stop wasting my tax money prosecuting, processing and holding people you can't stop from using it. I don't use it, personally. But I don't see the sense in the ridiculous waste of effort, money and manpower trying to stop the unstoppable. Evidently commercial grade hemp is superior to cotton for clothing fiber. It's a fast growing crop. And it's obvious it's popular as a casual drug, like alcohol. Didn't the prohibition teach the government anything? Take the power out of the hands of the drug cartels as it took the power out of the mobs hands during prohibition.

    Legalize it.
    Tax it.
    Stop wasting my Tax dollars.
