Breaking: Imus to Return to Radio this January?
drudgereport.com — Controversial radio host Don Imus is considering a return to the airwaves -- as early as this coming January, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. Legal issues pending with CBS must first be resolved before any dramatic return to the airwaves. 'We're going to see Don back in front of a microphone for the '08 election," said a top source close to Imus.

- bjs3171, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0actually it looks like someone took a ***** on a piece of paper and used that to decide where their site elements would go.
- donwilson2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1I'm guessing that you're dissing his website and not the ***** Google layout is because he has a conservative bias.
Shocking.
- GirthAgain, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8I hate the way this is listed as breaking when it was on the drudgereport about 20 hours ago. To be a proper headline the question mark should have been replaced by about 6 or 7 exclamation marks!!!!!!
- donwilson2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1When he does this, the news is exclusive to him thus far and is unable to find an article on that subject.
- OwdenBowden, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This just goes to show everyone (including them Nappy Headed Hoes) that money talks and BS walks. I cannot wait to hear what he has to say about Rev. Al and the Shaptones.

- MarkCiccone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6What he usually does is just replace his flash pages with new stories. For example, http://drudgereport.com/flash2.htm is now a Katie Couric story, but a while ago it was Rummy resigning.
- bjs3171, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0for what reason are those flash pages, anyway? there's absolutely no animation. don't people realize yet that flash is the ***** devil in code?
- graywolf323, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3ever heard of something called a newsflash?
- bjs3171, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0for what reason are those flash pages, anyway? there's absolutely no animation. don't people realize yet that flash is the ***** devil in code?
- jcm267, on 10/11/2007, -12/+7Hell ***** yeah. I tried listening to Opie & Anthony, and it was just too damn stupid for me. They're on the same level as Howard Stern, just they're not completely full of themselves like he is.
We Imus back on morning radio.- MikeonTV, on 10/11/2007, -11/+5They don't have a candle to the program that Howard produces.
- threemagic, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Howard's candle is limp, old, and barely has any flame...
Great to have Imus back... and remember O&A had your back!- carnesm, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Stern is limp and old? Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? No offense, Mr. Sharpton...
- almondfilter3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The program that Howard produces? The program thats sucked and been a shell of its former self for a decade? Wow, just goes to show how a name can mask boring radio and a host calling it in every day, to uninformed "listeners."
O&A = muche better and gooder. For a while too.- MikeonTV, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Your nuts, Aside from recycled material being a refresher and reminder to what was the only innovation in comedy since Lenny Bruce, Howard has millions of new and entertaining features. Let me begin with Sal & Richards phony phone calls and song parodies. Artie Lange and his Heroin. A slew of new shows including Riley Martin and Jacky Martling doing an hour a week. The Wrap Up Show and Howard 100 News lets us in the to the world even deeper and without comments from the Fab 4. Not to mention the slutty whores who sit on the sybian every week. Phone callers are ten times better than that of O&A or Imus (and I have heard a substantial amount of each over the years)
The truth is that Howard has created a lot more then he is credited for and even more then we know. Without Howard there would be no American Idol, Ben Steins Money and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Hell without Howard there would be no Opie and Anthony or Imus show. There would be no shock radio or any alternative to 'regular old radio'
Why would his show today be anything different. This is the best years of radio.
You have to get Sirius now and listen to 10 hours of Howard Stern before your opinion means anything. - Muyoso, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1OMFG, the evidence of Howard's listeners being total ***** idiots is even more apparent now. Yes, Howard created all that ever was and ever shall be, yay. No, the thing is that Howard takes CREDIT for everything under the sun. There is a big difference. Ever since he got his divorce, he hasn't been NEARLY as funny. His show was total ***** for years. He used to be funny as hell. Before he went to sirius, he was a paranoid *****, thinking the government was doing all of these things to stop him from doing his washed up show, yet in reality, no one cared about him cause he had ceased to be relevant. The remaining fans of Howards are those who have listened to him for their entire lives, and grew up during his good years, and cannot break away even though he has gotten mediocre and boring. He will do anything to get himself back into the news, but even the news could care less about him. His listening audience is smaller than ever, and his innovations are getting half a billion for a show which has gone way past the point of receiving social security, taking 20% of the week off, weekly, and taking more vacation time than any other entertainer in history.

- faskill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I thought I'd be happy if Imus returned to radio, but it's not really doing anything for me.
Sharpton and the like paraded around shouting "racism", "injustice", "hip hop lingo" and forced a man out of his rather lucrative job because they disagreed with what he said.
I just find it appalling that one racist can cost another man his livelihood.
Anyone else take that stance?- nalf38, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yes, sort of. I still know a lot of people who think the point can still be made that Imus stepped over a line, but his punishment didn't fit his crime. Regardless of whether or not what he said was inappropriate, a man should be able to atone and make amends without handing the offended community his entire livelihood. it's one thing to be angry over his comments, but the destruction of a man for said comments is just as vicious as the original offense. He was genuinely sorry, and he should have been genuinely forgiven, not have his career assassinated. His punishment should have been what would have happened naturally: loss of viewership. If you're offended by something on the radio or TV, it's a big world. Change the ***** channel, and ask other people to do the same.

- blorc, on 10/11/2007, -3/+37Please stop using "breaking." It's unnecessary.

- Treoinmypocket, on 10/11/2007, -9/+2LOL - "back in front of a microphone before the 08 election."
So this is a Democrat strategy then? Do the Democrats think they need the I-Man and his audience to influence the electorate to vote for the Democratic party?
Seriously, that's just a weird thing to say...- rhabd0mancer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Imus is a registered Republican.
- Cerialthriller, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1lol, i cant see this helping gain swing voters for the rebulicans.
- bjs3171, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1try listening to the man before you ask questions llike this. he's conservative, and he bashes hillary to no end.

- MiddleOfNowhere, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8"a top source close to Imus" - Give me a ***** break. Is this guy the pope? And why is this "breaking news" on a site that celebrates a journalist who has the guts to ignore Paris H. "news"? Some people should get their priorities straight.
- jdh24, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26AW HELL NO
WE CAINT HAVE NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH AROUND THESE HERE PARTS, DON IMUS BE RACIALIST- Cerialthriller, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2lol its not a freedom of speech issue, its a freedom of advertisers to pull their money from these jack-asses.
- faskill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Actually, it is a freedom of speech issue. Don Imus said something some believed to be racist. Led By Al Sharpton and Co., a group lobbied to have advertisers pull their funding. The real question is: would the funding have been pulled if Racist Al Sharpton didn't drive the reigns on this persecution? (I was not able to locate any articles showing that advertisers were pulling out before Sharpton got involved. I was able to find numerous articles indicating that advertisers were more withdrawn after Sharpton and Co.s' involvement)
- Xanadude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1In a way, you're both right: it is a freedom of speech issue, but not a Freedom of Speech (i.e. First Amendment) issue.
- Cerialthriller, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2lol its not a freedom of speech issue, its a freedom of advertisers to pull their money from these jack-asses.
- BrokenVisage, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18Good, he should be allowed back. That'll show those nappy-headed hos not to get oversensitive about what a SHOCK JOCK says. ***** ridiculous the circus they caused... oh wait, that was Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
- KennMac, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Jesse and Al are a circus.

- thorimm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1A ringmaster and his trained baboon sidekick. Still can't figure out why these two are the 'Leaders' of the black community. One is an anti-semiter, the other an outright racist.

- Mockylock, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Everytime I think of Imus, I remember Dennis Miller saying Imus reminded him of, "a werewolf that only had enough energy to get through half the transformation."
- voxiso, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Im by far no fan of Imus.. But im glad hes going to be back on the air, for no other reason other than he was fired for a ***** reason.

- superguysteve, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2he'll have more listeners if he spends his day farting in the McDonald's rest room.
- BuzWeaver, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I thought it was amusing yet typical of the biased media to identify Imus in early reports that he was a Conservative Talk Show Host.
- jron, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I can't understand a word this guy says; that said, the public had the power to "fire" him in the form of boycotting his show. I welcome his return and if the ratings fall through, good riddance.
- almondfilter3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Yeah but it wasn't the public who did it. It was the tiniest percentage of it, speaking for many. So many polls from the real public showed that Imus was a non-issue or didn't deserve to be fired. Special interest groups unfairly dictate things. So do unelected, awful "leaders" who aren't really leaders, but assume the role and do whatever they please. Nothing but desire for a little fame and air time on news shows.
- ooloo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2If Don Ho had a daughter...would he name her Nappy?

- mussburger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Talking about current issues doesn't make you relevant. He is irrelevant because he has opinions yet no influence. He would be relevant if when he spoke more than a handful of people gave a *****.
By your logic any person talking about current issues is relevant. That's just plain silly.
