- stavrogin2, on 03/20/2008, -0/+21Here's an uncomfortably high-res jpg if you want to play spot the mole: http://i.cnn.net/cnn/services/opk/planet.peril/ass ...
- antonio97b, on 03/20/2008, -0/+17It's to remove a mole. Not open heart surgery...
- cybrix, on 03/20/2008, -2/+18I always knew he was The Mole.
- Jimbob200, on 03/20/2008, -0/+10Mary mother of god, that was too close for comfort!
- mckirsch, on 03/20/2008, -0/+9Melanoma killed my dad, who was in great shape, a runner. It has a 80-90% mortality rate over three years.
My dad's doctors made sure that we all knew that as soon as it was diagnosed, what the chances were. I appreciated that.
Once melanoma gets into the lymph nodes it metastasizes quickly all over your body - liver, stomach, any soft tissue in your body will host this particular strain of death. It was the first time in my life I finally believed in sunscreen.
I hope for Cooper's sake its not melanoma. - allowners, on 03/20/2008, -0/+8The all important question for him is: what type? If it wasn't melanoma, it's probably not a big deal. Melanoma is always a big problem.
- JibberGeorge, on 03/20/2008, -2/+7Mole Mole. Moley moley. Whack a Mole.
A Mole in one! - rhbama13, on 03/20/2008, -5/+9Anderson RULES
- Intercon, on 03/20/2008, -2/+6Anerson Cooper is not in the closet. He just isn't waving the rainbow flag. He certainly pushes for exposure of gay issues when he has the chance (i.e., the gay general in the debates.) Not everything in a gay man's life is defined by his sexuality.
- artgon, on 03/20/2008, -0/+4It's staring into my soul....
- tankboy87, on 03/20/2008, -0/+4That's what you get for wearing Prada to the Katrina Hurricane coverage !!!
- annflower, on 03/20/2008, -3/+6Poor Anderson
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -2/+5Yeah, he deserves cancer for not sucking up to a guy who had no chance and who even the GOP wasn't going to vote for.
*****. - dafragsta, on 03/20/2008, -1/+4Do you know what Anderson Cooper looks like? He's virtually an albino. I doubt he's been under sun lamps.
- PwncakesFTW, on 03/20/2008, -0/+3Aww man I miss that show :(
- J4k3, on 03/20/2008, -1/+4Poor guy. He's a good man, and I hope he recovers quickly from this.
- Matt-lars, on 03/20/2008, -0/+3-> Its ***** skin cancer
- blup3ace, on 03/20/2008, -0/+3first Peter Jennings and now Anderson Cooper. News reporters must have cancerous lives.
- xtremesniper, on 03/20/2008, -0/+3So he IS the mole!
(refer to reality tv show he hosted to get the above line) - sealhands, on 03/20/2008, -2/+5thanks for exposing your anger, hostility issues with the world, feel better? take your anger out on anderson cooper, that will make everything better.
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+2Or just being outside a lot...
- w3weasel, on 03/20/2008, -1/+3Hmm... after the republican debates that he played a central part in spinning, I was kind of expecting a lightning-bolt to hit him.
The lord works in mysterious ways. - mckirsch, on 03/20/2008, -0/+2EXTREME CLOSE UP!!
/cue wayne and garth music... - Egress99, on 03/20/2008, -0/+2well we all have goals in life.
- The_Red_Monkey, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1I saw him on TV last night and I just thought maybe he got a chair to the face like Geraldo did.
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+12/3 of the people of where i live get these, its not like its rare
- johnhummel, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1that's what I was thinking - the guy has spent a lot of time on the field, like in Katrina or Iraq or Afghanistan and what not, walking about in the sun. Even if you're using SPF 45, it can add up.
- cwilson, on 03/20/2008, -1/+2That's not quite karma...
- norbiu, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvxe04wGmTw
- silverleaves, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1I had the same thing happen to me. They say "you've got skin cancer and we have to take it out".
Mine was very deep in the skin (on my face) and it left a scar. I was so lucky it was not melanoma. From that moment on wearing a hat wasn't enough. Sunscreen every single day and hats, long sleeves, the works.
You hear the word Cancer and you get cold all over.
One great thing about wearing sunscreen. You don't wrinkle as much! - binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -1/+2You sound 20 something and gay.
- allowners, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1That's also why I've religiously worn a hat when I go outside for some time now. After becoming accustomed to one I find it difficult not to wear it because the glare is too much for my eyes, even with sunglasses.
- alex199, on 03/20/2008, -3/+4He'll be ok. He already got it removed. Best wishes Anderson!
- binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1He is, and so is Jodi Foster.
- SonicAD, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1Well, ABC's planning to bring it back this summer... though no Anderson :(
Won't be one of those crappy celebrity ones, at least. - CommentPoster, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1Tiny bubbles
In the wine
Make me happy
Make me feel fine - jonn804, on 03/20/2008, -1/+1After reading your rude comment, I can only hope you get hand cancer and can't reply to other postings.
- binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -1/+1I wish him well, but for the love of God, Anderson, Come out.
- hpeskin, on 09/04/2008, -0/+0Kudos to Andy. I always admire anyone who does not allow illness to get in the way of a job he obviously loves. I hope to be able to continue watching you for many years to come.
- inactive, on 03/22/2008, -1/+1To me he will always be the spoiled little bastard in that photo of he and his governess in central park.....
- Agenda, on 03/20/2008, -1/+1What are you?
- CyphreDias, on 04/07/2008, -1/+1Anderson Cooper is a bad person. He lies to the people on TV and helps to manipulate the masses and keep the masses in the dark. I would not be surprised if his cancer “statement” is a publicity stunt. If one has a mole or a freckle, one can honestly say they have cancer. And if one is having a mole or freckle treated, one can honestly say they are having a melanoma treated. I have noticed that many people use illness as a tool to achieve goals. Anderson is part of a group of people who are not above telling lies and are not above staging events. I strongly suspect he will be just fine and we will be seeing him on the TV for decades to come.
Cooper was born on June 3, 1967 in New York City, the younger son of the writer Wyatt Emory Cooper and the artist, designer, writer, and heiress Gloria Vanderbilt, granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt II of the prominent Vanderbilt Family of New York. - heystoopid, on 03/20/2008, -3/+2That's what you get for excessive exposure to U-V sun lamps !
- aserer511, on 03/20/2008, -3/+2this is too ironic
- palavnica, on 03/20/2008, -3/+1Back to work only 2 days after surgery? Wow, I definitely can't do this.
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -2/+0Is he or isn't he? You know... Not that's there's anything wrong with that. Frankly, it's not any of my business either. Then again, if you're gonna run coverage on your network of some figure sleeping with someone else...
- trollbait, on 03/20/2008, -2/+0When I first saw the scar, I was really rather hoping it was because someone punched him in the face.
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -3/+1and your point is?
- boodog, on 03/20/2008, -7/+4When i saw the title saying, "Anderson Cooper announces..." I thought it would say "yes I am gay!" Nope still in the closet, but one that is free of skin cancer!
- CrimsonFate, on 03/20/2008, -8/+3Perhaps he should have stopped using tanning booths. Secondly, I don't care. Most of us have people who've suffered or died from cancer in our families. Why does some douche from another less than respectable consumer news network have any significance? Because he happens to be slightly charismatic?
