I was so thrilled when, finally we had a republican president and a republican congress! Now we would show the libs that their policies just do not work and the conservative way is the right way! (Less government, lower taxes, energy independence, Global warming the biggest hoax ever, independence to choose our own health care insurance, etc. etc.) But what do they do with their power????? They start spending like a bunch of Liberals and acting like a bunch of Liberals! They don't try to win by converting the Liberals to OUR way of thinking, they "cross" the aisle and join them in their way of thinking! I COULD JUST SCREAM! I am afraid we are entering a really dark time in our existance with the choices we have for president. There is hardly a dime's worth of difference in any of them. They are all selling us out to the highest bidder and just lining their own pockets. The worst of it is, we cannot even get rid of them at the voting booth! They have all the special interests lining their campaign coffers and they simply buy their seat for another term. They have so grossly undereducated the people in this nation by NOT teaching them U.S History, Civics, or Economics. They teach that America IS the problem and propoganda. They are even trying to keep people from teaching their kids at home. The more of our taxpayer money they throw at education, the worse it gets. I used to teach school, and when they took the power away from the educators to discipline in their classrooms, and the parents quit supporting the teachers, and even quit parenting, it has become a downward spiral. The gov't CANNOT run anything! Why would anyone want them to run our healthcare??? Case in point, today the news is that the stimulus checks, for the tax rebates, are being sent out to the WRONG people with OUR social security numbers on them!!! I rest my case!
- Pillage, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1In a perfect socialist country where everything is sunshine and rainbows, sure free health care would be great. But we live in the real world, where the currency isn't smiles, its cold hard cash, and the reason health care costs so much is because of the ridiculous government bureaucracy that they've created around it.
