This website will not only allow you find links to articles such as this one. Will also allieviate boredom and keep you up to date on internet memes. - inactive, on 03/10/2009, -1/+16I used this JobScrubber tool to search 4 job sites at once:
http://www.jobscrubber.com/4search.html
You can select up to four job search engines like Monster, Indeed, Flipdog, Dice, etc.... then search 4 of them at once and the results open in this 4 paneled window. It speeds up your search by 4 times.
Hope that helps someone. It's brutal out there. :( - inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+12what about craigslist? seriously, wake up at 6am and browse ads for a few hours. I got my last two jobs through it.
- Dested, on 03/10/2009, -1/+11Craigslist?
Its how I have gotten my 3 most recent development jobs, I pretty much swear by it. - homercles337, on 03/10/2009, -0/+10I prefer indeed.com...
- Dested, on 03/10/2009, -2/+10Soooo hard to resist the troll......
Give me a call when you get out of highschool - MediaCrisis, on 03/10/2009, -0/+7im employed and this ***** is pretty useful.
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+6Surfing digg is what got me fired in the first place!
- plecostomus, on 03/10/2009, -0/+6Never, ever use your personal e-mail when applying for any kind of job, or for any kind of job site. The job sites especially will sell whatever e-mail you give them, so you need to have a designated, easy-to-read e-mail. Just leave it alone once you have a job and when you need to reuse it just go back and clear the spam out.
- Cerialthriller, on 03/10/2009, -0/+6wheres videobox.com and brazzers.com? If i was unemployed id be spending way more time on there then these other sites.
- X9001, on 03/10/2009, -0/+4No pornhub?
- damentz, on 03/10/2009, -0/+4*****, i thought those were legit
- scubaninja, on 03/11/2009, -0/+3Mint requires giving remote access of all your bank accounts to a brand new internet startup company. No thanks.
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -1/+4I didn't know posting an ad in erotic services counted!
- Fleagleman, on 03/10/2009, -0/+3I can't believe indeed.com is not listed here. Indeed searches all the job search engines at once, lets you save those searches, and gives you updates via email.
It's how I ended up at my current job. - Apocolypse007, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2I never new about that freenapkin site. Some interesting and useful links here. dugg
- alphaeno, on 03/10/2009, -1/+3www.slickdeals.net
Saved me soo much money over the years, but made me buy a few things I didnt need just because it was so cheap! - Elranzer, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2If you own a domain, you can always do what I do... assign it to Gmail. Then create site specific email address that all redirect to the same inbox. That way you know who sold you out, and also which job sites are actually working (are you getting more responses from Dice or Monster?)
hotjobs@domain.com, careerbuilder@domain.com, etc
Gmail for Domains Link: http://www.google.com/a - dancindrudge, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2thanks dested, i didnt even think to look there. :)
- bigtoes, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2As someone who is expendable I am jotting down these sites as fast as I can . If I pause in between scribblings & look inquisitively at the screen it gives the appearance that I'm working fast yet focused as well .
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2craigslist works alright for big cities but for lower populated cities not much activity.
- TwinTurboMike, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2I have to partially agree on this one. When people turn on the TV and all they see is record numbers of layoffs, tanking markets, and talking heads spouting out how bad the Great Depression was, people start pinching pennies thinking that money is going to dry up. Of course, this then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy; People thinking things are going to get real bad, in effect causes things to get real bad due to the change in spending habits, and even employing habits for many small businesses.
Another component to this equation is that we are a debt-based economy which relies heavily on continuous spending and consumption.
I think it is ok to say we have a recession, as we should be honest about it all. We just need to lay off the fear-mongering a bit, as it is damaging in itself. - Coffeedemon, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2Will you please piss off and stop with the submission spam.
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+1http://www.hhs.gov/
- bonerfide, on 03/10/2009, -0/+1Too late for me. It's amazing the amount of spam that started coming up after posting on career builder and monster
- zcode7, on 03/10/2009, -1/+2OMG YOU FOUND LINKEDIN?!!?
- twiztidsinz, on 03/10/2009, -0/+1Being willfully ignorant is still ignorant.
Lying and saying there's no problem is a problem in itself.
First step to fixing a problem is admitting there is a problem to be fixed. - Elranzer, on 03/10/2009, -1/+2"Democrats are good in every policy but economics"
Then republicans are good at no policy? Since they also suck at economics. - alphaeno, on 03/10/2009, -1/+2Meetup and simplyhired are cool sites I never heard of. Don't dis a list for a miss...
- guruette, on 03/11/2009, -0/+1I like Indeed.com, hate Monster.com (I only get SAPM from there) and LOVE CareerBuilders.com Great info.
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+1Well I wouldnt consider Seattle to be a big city, but it works for me. If you live in a really small city, use the local classified.
- Cerialthriller, on 03/10/2009, -0/+1they are legit moral support sites if you like seeing porn whores get banged.
