- Merendino, on 05/13/2008, -17/+298Not even including the political message, that is one HELL of a good piece of design.
- LiberalsSuckAss, on 05/13/2008, -141/+327I don't get it. What's the point this is trying to make? Capitalism is bad? America is evil? Money == corruption?
Dugg down for being suspiciously anti-american! - Lisztman, on 05/13/2008, -18/+151Can someone explain to me why the Space Shuttle Challenger is on this picture?
Is an accidental explosion in a space mission supposed to be a symbol of blood-thirsty American imperialism somehow? - lucidguru, on 05/13/2008, -47/+175Weed in the upper right corner FTW!
- beingdevious, on 05/13/2008, -14/+104if you scroll down, you'd see that the artist created a representation of the Yen and the Euro.
America wasnt targeted, get off your high-horse. - 4LeggedtriPod, on 05/13/2008, -11/+95Even if true, and even if the design is amazing. Propaganda is never anything more than someone's ***** agenda.
- inactive, on 05/13/2008, -28/+104And I digg you down for not reading. Heaven forbid someone use history as a basis for artistic imagery. But then again, when has history ever mattered to people would might consider having a name like "LiberalSuckAss"?
It's meant to show what affects the cost of the dollar, which I would say is spot-on with the imagery. In addition, they did one based on the Euro and Yen, just in case you missed it. Why not blame them for being anti-Japanese or anti-European? - pistboy, on 05/13/2008, -29/+104Pretty immature... I suppose the billions in humanitarian aid that have circled the globe will count for nothing. I get the point, but it is very one sided of an issue. The artist is going for shock value more than anything. Lame...
- inactive, on 05/13/2008, -11/+69Then why didnt they have a picture of all the aid America gives out?
Why didnt they show all the donations Americans made when the Tsunami hit?
Why didnt they show all the money the EU and Asians save by living under the defensive umbrella of the USA? - mtxrawkus, on 05/13/2008, -7/+61Where is the morbidly obese family?
- DonSlice, on 05/13/2008, -3/+52It's not just bloodthirsty imperialism (note the weed in top-right). It's where the money goes.
- vorbalhorde, on 05/13/2008, -8/+55It's suggesting the war on drugs is a fair chunk of change in the pockets of the corrupt DEA. I mean, woooaaah, duuuude.
- floridiot2, on 05/13/2008, -2/+45From Reddit:
it was wasted money and lives. NASA engineers warned of the weakness in the O-Rings, an engineer at the manufacturer even warned of the problem. Fixing it would have cost over 1 million dollars and delayed the launch for months so the bean counters and NASA management chose to look the other way. As a result we lost a billion dollar piece of equipment, a group of astronauts that the US spent millions training over the years and much more.
The disaster also paralyzed the US space program for nearly a decade It is certainly a symbol of waste and greed of the highest order. - Ouze, on 05/13/2008, -12/+55while skilled technically, this vapid image does a pretty ***** job at conveying whatever message it is they are trying to convey. It's a cheap cash in of being provocative without actually delivering any discernible message. No surprise, then, to see all the mouthbreathing digg comments saying how breathtaking and stunning and brilliant it is.
- ats314, on 05/13/2008, -15/+54I'm confused. Most stuff in the picture is way negative; war, oil, McDonals, etc. Is he trying to say weed is as big of problem as these things or is he subtly offering a solution?
- Lisztman, on 05/13/2008, -4/+41Lol.
You think AMERICAN politics is corrupted?
America ain't got ***** on pretty much the rest of the world, excepting a few European nations. - ats314, on 05/13/2008, -0/+35not looking for diggs or anything, but I am wondering why a simple question gets dugg down so much. I was earnestly wondering whether most people thought the marijuana symbol was negative or positive.
- odiego, on 05/13/2008, -2/+33Trust me, almost nobody in Brazil thinks about the USA like that.
- mciampa1214, on 05/13/2008, -33/+66I don't see the Rothschild's and Ben Bernanke gang-raping a group of Paultards
- vexingmodstwo, on 05/13/2008, -7/+36Easy there, sparky. As it relates to this particular piece, that is how THAT artist sees America. Do many people share this view? Yes. Is that how "the rest of the WORLD sees America"? That's a bit of a stretch.
- thatsmyaibo, on 05/13/2008, -0/+24Don't Brazilians speak Portuguese?...
- inactive, on 05/13/2008, -5/+28Why should I pay attention to history? All of that stuff happened before i was born!
/sarcasm - fsjenkins2000, on 05/13/2008, -0/+26I guess no one realized that the Yen and the Euro is right below it since there are no comments on those two.
- BrutusOSU45, on 05/13/2008, -2/+25Do you know anyone killed on 9/11? Because I do...33 people. Go ***** yourself.
- AgentX640, on 05/13/2008, -4/+27***** yourself.
- rocketman42, on 05/13/2008, -3/+27I don't get it either. But there is also a yen and euro version which are similar, so I don't think this is anti-American at all. Maybe they are just trying to put pictures to the phrase, "Money is the root of all evil".
- m4rk0551, on 05/13/2008, -3/+27They have one for the:
Euro: http://www.coloribus.com/paedia/prints/2008/5/3/20 ...
Yen: http://www.coloribus.com/paedia/prints/2008/5/3/20 ... - d686, on 05/13/2008, -6/+26easy jackholes. it's not just "anti-american"... look at the euro and yen.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 05/13/2008, -0/+18Its on the back.
- inactive, on 05/13/2008, -3/+20With nasa's minuscule budget they're bitching about this? ***** you.
- hove, on 05/13/2008, -4/+21It's not that simple to leave the American empire, ask Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Xander512, on 05/14/2008, -1/+16I could overthink it and give you a long explanation but, honestly, I think hes simply saying a lot of money goes towards drugs.
(nothing more) - vexingmodstwo, on 05/13/2008, -1/+15Positive.
- Step1Mark, on 05/13/2008, -1/+15Obviously 911 was a terrible thing but I don't think it even stands up to what we have done to other countries. So when they sent us a wake up call for our actions we increase our military presence? To me every innocent life was a tragedy doesn't matter where they were born.
- armoreddillo, on 05/13/2008, -4/+17I'm pretty sure they figuratively raped the entire country.
not just the people who care about our government spending and state's sovereignty. - trogdor282, on 05/13/2008, -2/+16Jumping to conclusions, are we?
http://www.coloribus.com/paedia/prints/2008/5/3/20 ... - Yusami, on 05/13/2008, -2/+15I've seen so much anti-Insert Country/Corporation/People art since leaving high school and pursuing my art degrees...It's really boring, over-done, and lack-luster.
It's the same issues over and over again and it's done, 99% of the time, to be viewed and accepted...This saddens me as artists are supposed to be original and individuals.
That said it's ironic most of the artists I meet want a socialist nation (yes, I have been told "I want a socialist nation! What's wrong with socialism?" My answer? "No variety.") - stukdog, on 05/13/2008, -3/+18mirror just in case: http://www.macminicolo.net/digg/Dollar_1.jpg
On a side note, the one benefit of the weakening dollar is that international sales pick up. If you have a service that can be sold worldwide, it's nice to have the international folks take advantage and keep you afloat. - aenima987, on 05/13/2008, -1/+13Master of Puppets graveyard in bottom left corner
- casuallyevil, on 05/13/2008, -1/+13"Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns — or dollars. Take your choice — there is no other — and your time is running out."
http://compuball.com/Inquisition/AynRand/danconias ... - Pinkertinkle, on 05/13/2008, -10/+21Yeah the artist is a douche bag.
- inactive, on 05/14/2008, -0/+9where is godzilla?
- 10lbhammer, on 05/13/2008, -1/+10wait a minute now, joebob!! if I've learned anything from jefferson starship, it's that this city indeed was build on rock n roll!
- dynamojoe, on 05/13/2008, -3/+12I dug you even though I disagree. Barbed wire, military action, pollution, tape over George's eyes, yeah. That's all fine and good, but the political message is ruined if you know your explosions. The inclusion of the Challenger accident is a jarring "Duh?" in the middle of it all. It has nothing to do with the value of the dollar, is barely a political statement (Pravda ran a single line about it when it happened, IIRC), barely polluted, and wasn't caused by hate or greed (well, maybe, but you really have to dig into it).
I look forward to their take on the Real... - dynamojoe, on 05/13/2008, -0/+12A dig for you, good sir or madam.
- inactive, on 05/13/2008, -3/+11Because the rest of the world pretty much does what the ***** we tell it to in the end, with a few exceptions (and most of those only because we tolerate it).
Ask Saddam how jerking off the weapon inspectors turned out for him. - gwaggy12, on 05/13/2008, -1/+10"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10

- mongo25, on 05/13/2008, -0/+8The average russian salary is 13,500 rubles/month. 13,500 rubles is roughly $568. The average yearly salary of Russians is roughly $6800. I highly doubt the new thing to do in Russia is wave around wads of Benjamins.
- TicoTico, on 05/13/2008, -10/+20"Dugg down for being suspiciously anti-american!"
I can't stop laughing for this one, any critic or dissent is labeled as anti-american, you are so pathetic -
