- StingingNettle, on 01/23/2009, -0/+6Why are people digging this? That was a very annoying link that makes you click through a bunch of pages. The list doesn't even start until the 3rd page. And NO this isn't the best list, for the simple fact it doesn't include the Dailyreckoning.com. Which has been around forever. They sugested to buy gold as the trade of the decade back in 2000 when gold was trading at $250 an ounce. They easily spoted the housing bubble coming a mile away all while making fun of "hedge" funds, and they still bring amazing insight to this day.
- TheFounder, on 01/22/2009, -0/+6Some of the blogs on the list are gone or no longer have regular posts and have yet to receive TARP funds to continue to post.
- Nymphe, on 01/23/2009, -0/+5"Blogs that used profanity were also excluded from the list. It is well recognized that traders are a notoriously bawdy bunch. And, unfortunately, a number of these blogs are incredibly insightful. However, our aim was to create a list that avoided offending any of our reader's delicate sensibilities."
What year is this? 1955? All they had to do what give a warning label and let people choose for themselves. Yeesh... - wespadfield, on 01/23/2009, -0/+5all on one page:

If you read the comment section on a daily basis it's like a graduat education course in economics. I constantly have 10-15 tabs open researching what I read in the comment section. - nelsonwinters, on 01/23/2009, -0/+4Another one worth reading... Karl Denninger's Market Ticker:
http://market-ticker.denninger.net - curtisag, on 01/23/2009, -0/+3If you are wise you will read everything Mish says on his blog and take it to heart. Congrats to him for being #1. And Sitka Pacific Capital has actually made money for their customers through this financial collapse, unlike certain others. Their hedged growth fund holds up amazingly well under extreme market stress.

http://www.dealbreaker.com - idivine, on 01/23/2009, -0/+3what about Robert Peston http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/robertpest ...
The list is biased. - Nymphe, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2"Why are people digging this?"
I dugg it to get more people to look outside of the mainstream media for real financial news.
"That was a very annoying link that makes you click through a bunch of pages. The list doesn't even start until the 3rd page."
Try using the article's "print" form. I always do because of the ads.
"And NO this isn't the best list, for the simple fact it doesn't include the Dailyreckoning.com."
I agree with DR being a good one, but they probably consider it a commercial site. The only two on the list I liked were Mish's and SeekingAlpha. - jpreall, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2What, no acrossthecurve.com?
- hugolp, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2During the first part of this recession everything has been going down and a lot of accounts have been going down, not only Peter's, but for example Jim Roger's as well. Europac is a company that helps you invest long term, not short term.
- Computer_Kid, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2Where is dvorak.org/blog ?
- synapzgap, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2Wow, that's one ***** up web page, for I only saw the first one and decided it wasn't worth my headache to find the actual story. I could barely find it amidst all the ad, headline, picture, quote, and sponsored link frames. I'm no web designer, but DAMN, that ***** was bad. I think Time needs a new web crew.
- kalvinb, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2A lot of those are related to investing which doesn't help many people since the majority of people invest in the magic black box called a 401k.
What would be useful is blogs related to personal finance. Putting together a budget, managing bank accounts and credit cards, etc. It's easy to micromanage your money and have it going in and out all over the place which makes keeping a budget nearly impossible.
Until you can figure out how to simplify your personal day to day finances and maintain a budget, investing isn't really an option. - eastcoast1978, on 01/22/2009, -3/+5Good list... I didn't know about many of those.
- fedak, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2I think that eliminated, Karl Denninger's Market Ticker

- theNEOone, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2Should include: www.baselinescenario.com
=| - armynixon, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2It's a shame that Felix Salmon's blog "Market Movers" didn't make it. Also, Victor Niederhoffer's and Laurel Kenner's blog "Daily Speculations" is very interesting even if I disagree with it quite often.
- wespadfield, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2"In no special order"

- yadavrupinder, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often. For more information you can log on http://www.creditreportproblems.com/debt_collectio ...
- intrepidia, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1Kudos to Bill Cara making the list. His analysis and the community discourse have made me money this year but the material is NOT for the feint of heart.
- j00sux, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1"Long term, not short term," can be said about a lot of things, like my 401k. (Which I've stopped contributing to in favor of other investments)
Peter is a really smart guy, but he is on the extreme end of things. His latest book (which I did read) suggest we should all pack up our lives and move to Australia.
Take what he says with a grain of salt. I do however like how his ideas are becoming mainstream. The Wall Street Journal him post an article. - freakzp, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1I hate baselinescenario
- inactive, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1Peter Schiff has been right about allot however his clients,. me included have lost mucho money as well. I believe in Peter, but he is not above market forces. I also am considering pulling out of EuroPacific because after his most recent TV appearances, and his most recent podcast, I feel he is not accepting the future reality.
- nosheeple, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1I was disappointed to not see http://www.urbansurvival.com/week.htm which as accurately predicted most all major events and trends, sometimes years ahead. It is readable, timely, offers unique insights and sometimes really funny. Not losing a dime in this market has been nice!
For what it s worth, I find typing all these crooked codes extremely annoying! - eastwood24, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1Several are worth a good read.
- inactive, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1magic black box called a 401k?
More like a rat trap - eastwood24, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1Calculated Risk and The Big Picture are two sites that I read daily, comments and all. It has been quite enlightening.
- mossandholly, on 01/23/2009, -1/+1Thanks for this its interesting to see what these sites look like as I'm developing a site on Currencies and the Forex its new and in the early stages but hey one day it will be on a list like this. Thanks again and take a peek at http://www.poundtoeuro.com
- flowkan, on 09/28/2009, -0/+0Nice list and important
http://hubpages.com/hub/Stock-Trading-Tutorial-and ... - juvigt, on 01/23/2009, -2/+2--Greetings in the name of God,
Here writes Laura Kingston, suffering from cancerous ailment of the brain. I was married to Dr. Perry J. Kingston an English man who is now dead. Our life together as man and wife lasted for three decades without a child. My husband died after a protracted illness, before his death we made a vow to uplift the down-trodden and the less-privileged individuals. I can adduce this to the fact that he needed a Child from this relationship, which never came.
When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of £12,000,000.00 (Twelve Million Pounds sterling) which were derived from his vast estates and investment in capital market with his bank here in UK. Presently, this money is still with the Bank. Recently, my Doctor told me that I have limited days to live due to my illness, this is why I am contacting you to donate the fund to you to complete the wishes of my late Husband,
If you are interested, Please send your response to this email: mrslauraknn@hotmail.com
Endeavor to send your reply to this email: mrslauraknn@hotmail.com
Respectfully,
Mrs. Laura Kingston.
