- kahlessreborn, on 09/28/2008, -2/+32Instead of Dial 800-FREE-411 I am pretty happy with 800-GOOG-411 its pretty damn good and has great speech recognition, but yes I'm a Google fan boy.
- poisonborz, on 09/28/2008, -2/+24"Free Radio Service"? JUST WOW.
- psykiv, on 09/27/2008, -1/+22Back in the day: Free money ala alladvantage and desktopdollars
Free internet through netzero
free 1 800 number through ureach
free webspace: angelfire, tripod
free domains: (there was one, but forgot the name)
I remember there was even one for a free car (although you were basically driving around a giant billboard, and you have to pay the gas and insurance) - nonchalantmoon, on 09/28/2008, -1/+20No. You pay for, trust me.
- beefchi, on 09/28/2008, -2/+19free retarded 12 year old jokes

- Narcowski, on 09/28/2008, -0/+10Well you're touchy...
Are you his mother? - gage006, on 09/28/2008, -2/+11None of that was surprising for anyone who has spent more than 5 minutes on the internet.
- sirbeta, on 09/28/2008, -0/+9Man, I still remember using Juno for free internet access... If you'd terminate their connection software the second the dialup networking connection went through, you could browse the internet and do anything you wanted for free without their annoying ad bar that showed up on top of everything... Those were the days.
- yacks, on 09/28/2008, -1/+10Would you like to pay for it in Herpes or Chlamydia?
- Zetsubou, on 09/28/2008, -1/+9Is that jewelry one for real? I could use something like that soon for the woman.
- QsheiK, on 09/28/2008, -1/+9Dugg for mentioning legit free wi-fi hotspots.
- Exzhaton, on 09/28/2008, -3/+8Freedom isn't free.
- Gatesophile, on 09/28/2008, -2/+7Free antivirus (surprised it wasn't mentioned) Avast! Home Edition. I love it, non intrusive, very easy to use, and finds viruses very well.
- GlacialPhoenix, on 09/28/2008, -0/+5http://www.silverjewelryclub.com/ is perfect for birthday gifts when you're dirt poor.
- ZapWizard, on 09/28/2008, -0/+5VistaPrint is NOT Free by any means. NEVER USE THEM!
My wife bought some stuff from there and they automatically sign you up for a $15 a month membership to VistaPrint and "Fun2Save" without your permission and there is no indication on their website or terms of service stating so.
Google it, and you will see that it is listed on every fraud and rip-off website. I just have to have American Express remove 3 months worth from my wife's account. That is $60 for "Free" - seantubridy, on 09/28/2008, -0/+5Free Willy
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106965/ - locojones, on 09/28/2008, -2/+7They say a man should always dress for the job he wants.
so why am I dressed up like a pirate in this restaurant?
It’s all because some hacker stole my identity.
Now I’m in here every evening serving chowder and iced tea.
Should have gone to freecreditreport.com (yeehaa!)
I could have seen this coming at me like an atom bomb.
They monitor your credit and send you email alerts.
So you don’t end up selling fish to tourists in t-shirts. - scrtyfrk, on 09/28/2008, -0/+4Beware of Vistaprint.com It's a spammers paradise. They try to trick you to give out your e-mail to receive "discounts" from spam sites for free trips and such. As it is, the cheapest shipping takes 21 days. If you want it faster, the rate multiplies.
- nonchalantmoon, on 09/28/2008, -0/+4or a program that gives you anonymity.
- Narcowski, on 09/28/2008, -0/+3Belgium was giving out *.be domains for free a couple of years ago (and they didn't have the horrible .tk adspam).
- thegunslinger1, on 09/28/2008, -0/+3I have used Annual Credit Report several times, for both myself and my wife, it works great and would recommend it any day of the week.
- peaceninja, on 09/28/2008, -0/+3beefchi's wit is sharper than amoirae's antagonism
- poptartrevival, on 09/28/2008, -0/+3Yeah it's real. I ordered some bracelets awhile back from them, you just pay the shipping, and it comes in a cheap padded envelope in a couple weeks. Weird thing about them though is you have to sit there and wait for the item that you want to pop up.They take paypal though, so all is good.
- Plotinus, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2To all those who don't get the point of, complain about or resent (if britisth) the British TV license fee...
"Why's it free? The BBC, one of the world's largest broadcasting corporations, is on a mission to enrich people's lives with programs and services that inform, educate and entertain."
The BBC FTW!! - EllimistX, on 09/28/2008, -1/+3Yup, I'm spreading the word about it to friends at my work, it's great for when we can't remember the domino's number...
- NoozeHound, on 09/28/2008, -1/+3if you have a US ip#
- zippy757, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2yes...and that's why so many of dot.coms failed...
in the end, 'free' usually only works as a very short term, interim, demand generation approach, and not a business model.
Too many sites were based on the advert dollar pull thru and there simply wasn't enough $s to go around...
The other model, i.e. giving away your identity or personal information that is then used, is quickly fading as most people are beginning to get concerned about how that information is being used. - supermanly, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2The free sheet music (where to get it) was new for me. Just sayin'.
- Skishy101, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2Ugh, I had JUST got that song out of my head. Looks like I'm still singing it in the shower.
- seantubridy, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2Free Tibet.
- Doctype, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2Oh thats right! Whats your mothers URL?
- sinkhead, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2Yes, but you do still get the stuff eventually.
- Wandel, on 09/28/2008, -1/+3It costs a buck 'o five.

- scrtyfrk, on 09/29/2008, -0/+1Yes, that you do... It's just that "free" is not really free in this case. hehehe
- Thesuccessguide, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1I like the price of free but do you know where I can get a good Imac for free?
- nihilism5150, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1Sick, definitly gonna check up on some of these. And checking your credit score isn't free at all. Every time you check it, points are deducted from your credit score.
- connieLingus, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1hey while your on a roll, do you have a link to a decent free newsgroup/usenet server? i am looking for one.
thxs. - UberNick, on 09/29/2008, -0/+1The tool that killed the banner was called BewareOfDog. FSM, how I loved that program.
- liuite, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1if you work for the government, you can get money for free.
- docjeff, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1Then you should love http://www.nocharge.com/ :)
- lusenok2, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1Yeah, vistaprint :(
They totally messed up colors scheme and used incredibly poor quality paper for my PAID order. - pak314, on 09/28/2008, -1/+2what about a $700 billion bailout?
- OfficialJoe, on 09/28/2008, -0/+1I appreciate the fact that the jewelry site ships to my country. It is a huge frustration when a really cool site is closed to the international market. I mean really, how difficult could it be?
