- bsmeteronhigh2, on 09/28/2008, -4/+406Rep. KUCINICH asks for 5 minutes to speak. He receives permission without objection. At a little over 1 minute 29 seconds the gavel hammers down and he's informed his time is up. Something is fishy. Seems the folks in charge in Washington D.C. don't want anything or anyone to challenge their little "special reality". Some powerful folks want this so called bailout to go forth without any complaint or protest. Could it be that they were the terrorists we needed to be concerned about from the beginning?
- kelstock, on 09/28/2008, -1/+231I'd like Rep. Kucinich and Rep. Paul to be included in a debate with the major candidates.
- peaceofpie, on 09/28/2008, -8/+197Kucinich is the only one I trust 100%.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -0/+165I'd like them to be the major candidates.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -1/+149I disagree with a lot of what Kucinich says. But on most major things he's right. Say what you will about him, but he's honest. He wants to do what is best for America and not what is best for himself. He is practical, honest, and represents the people. He asks for 5 minutes to speak and is granted it, but then gets cut off after 1 minute and 30 seconds. What the ***** is with that? I don't care who it is speaking, but if you grant 5 minutes to speak and then cut off after 1 minute 30 seconds then something is wrong.
- tillerman00, on 09/28/2008, -1/+111This government is a sham.
- SubjectiveC, on 09/28/2008, -1/+96Gotta love Dennis.
On the other hand, I'm always baffled by footage of congress. The room is almost always empty. You have to admire men and women whose job is not going to work for a living. - btattersall, on 09/28/2008, -0/+85I'd like them to be the moderators
- lolupissed, on 09/28/2008, -2/+86STOP THE BAILOUT, this will become the turning point in the United States if this goes through. This will be the point where the United States officially loses its super power status with the rest of the world. This will lead us on the road to hyper inflation and the world dumping out of the dollar and switching to other currencies. All so that the rich can get richer at the cost of destroying the american dream and the american people.
- FTWmovin2canada, on 09/28/2008, -1/+73The problem is that the majority don't even understand what Kucinich and Paul are talking about, otherwise they would be major candidates.
- kimathi, on 09/28/2008, -1/+63Silence the truth Mr Speaker. Ridiculous.
- armakaryk, on 09/28/2008, -1/+57How does he walk with balls that size?
- SubjectiveC, on 09/28/2008, -1/+49Youtube's View count is not in real time.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -0/+47did you also notice that as the American financial system collapses no one is there. business as usual in congress.
- Misinformant, on 09/28/2008, -2/+41The man who should have the job at the top as I've said all along.
- zombies187, on 09/28/2008, -15/+50The bailout isn't an alternative to Universal health care. The lack of Universal health care CAUSED the housing crisis! Fact: Most bankruptcies are filed by middle class workers who have health insurance and a catastrophic illness.

Fact: Whatever you may have heard, no one knows what these 'toxic assets' are.
Fact: These lenders are not required to be able to provide a list of these assets.
Provide a list of these assets or digg me up! - mecharabbit, on 09/28/2008, -3/+36"You only need to make a fortune once."
Stop the corporate thieves and restore the middle class! - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -18/+51What about Ron Paul?
Both of these men are heroes of their party. The American people are finally starting to wake up to the cruddy old policies, and will soon set America back on the track of what it used to be. It's only a matter of time. - EndGamePlayer, on 09/28/2008, -5/+36Hey - he's good! and he's not part of the system that got us here:

Where did his other 4 minutes go? - jerbaker, on 09/28/2008, -0/+28How about the banks and investors eat the consequences of their past decisions? That's the only way the market will work. If you let everyone keep the profits of their wagers, but insure their losses, you're creating an artificial incentive to engage in unsound wagering. Plus, it violates every principle of fairness I can think of. How the ***** is it that we can't afford healthcare for everyone, or we can't afford to fix our roads and bridges, or we can afford to give enough money to our National Parks and forests, or we can't afford bold new steps to end our dependence on foreign oil, or we can't find the money to save our planet from catastrophic disaster, but we CAN find money when a few investor's profits are on the line. WHAT THE ***** IS THAT?!?!?!?!
- Krakerjax, on 09/28/2008, -5/+32I raise a glass to this man.
Also, how does this have 250+ diggs but only 200 views on youtube? - badqat, on 09/28/2008, -0/+26I'd say that Mr. Kucinich isn't being a good democrat right now. Ms. Pelosi wants a unanimous vote of "yes" for the Paulson plan.
I'm willing to bet huge bucks that if they do vote, both Kucinich and Paul will vote "NO" on this travesty. - elephantstomp, on 09/28/2008, -2/+27I assume this bailout is going to happen regardless of the percentage of Americans against. Therefore, I am trying to make as much money off of the situation as possible.
- TheLoneHoot, on 09/28/2008, -1/+26Well that's a bit of a mis-characterization.
Yes, they were there, but they were given FAAAAAR less microphone time than the other candidates. In the case of Kucinich, NBC (owned by a major defense contractor), actually changed the previously agreed to rules of the Nevada debate. They originally said they'd have the top 4 Democrats on, but when anti-war Kucinich turned out to be ranked 4th (behind Obama, Clinton, and Edwards), they decided to change it to only the top 3 Democratic candidates.
Understand that even though each of these two firm adherents to the constitution rarely got a chance to speak, when they did the audiences applauded very enthusiastically.
Not to really stoop to GOP levels here, but we all know that Sarah Palin was a cheap eye candy stunt on the part of McClown. Imagine if as much attention was focused on Elizabeth Kucinich - uber hot and uber smart. I guarantee you she could hold her own in any interview or press conference, and wouldn't be shielded from the media. But unfortunately, it would take precisely the same superficial focus given Palin's appearance to make the country notice Elizabeth. And that's a shame because she's VERY VERY smart and has had more more international experience than Palin - and she's not even a politician. - jynweythek, on 09/28/2008, -1/+25Dugg for Kucinich kicking ass as usual.
- brad3378, on 09/28/2008, -2/+24I'd like them to be the executioners.
- anselm83, on 09/28/2008, -0/+21LOL... sorry kiddo, $425k to 200 million people is not $85 billion.
- headzoo, on 09/28/2008, -0/+20The thing that always amazes me the most, is the number of empty seats. What the ***** are we paying these people for?
- deadapostle, on 09/28/2008, -1/+2085,000,000,000/200,000,000= 425
Yes. Let's give every American $425 and tell them to invest it all in lottery tickets. That's the only way anyone would be able to accomplish anything else in your post. - badqat, on 09/28/2008, -0/+19Whoa...that would be a hoot!
- voteforblank, on 09/28/2008, -2/+21***** the Police... ***** Washinton too. 99% crooks!
- wiihuck, on 09/28/2008, -0/+19and i'm sure the members in their offices are paying close attention what their feed is showing them.
- djruden, on 09/28/2008, -7/+25110%
- SchmuckofNI, on 09/28/2008, -6/+24Now this guy would have been much much better than the likes of Obama. Too bad he didn't' win the democratic presidential primaries, I would have definitely voted for him.
- TheLoneHoot, on 09/28/2008, -0/+17Wrong, troll. He was elected to do his constitutional duty, and he's one of only a handful that have any idea what that is. The man can virtually quote the US constitution because he carries a copy with him in his jacket pocket. Dennis Kucinich wants to impeach Bush, have him removed from office, and I believe tried for war crimes.
***** you if you can't see that he's obviously a real American patriot.
No, you know what? Just plain ***** YOU, period. - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -2/+19Eyeopening.
- xxpor, on 09/28/2008, -0/+17I am going to college in his district. I am SO glad I can vote for him. He is by far my favorite politician.
- MrXfromPlanetX, on 09/28/2008, -0/+17Also check out Marcy Kaptur on the bailouts. She's awesome
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIE0ZyXEsKQ
She point out how much people at Goldman Sachs made, and how much they contributed to Congress - gothelium, on 09/28/2008, -0/+16Same thing that's "wrog" with your spelling?
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -0/+16Don't bail out. We may enter a short term recession (about one year), but the value of the dollar is far more important.
With the bail out, the value of the dollar will decline even more causing EVERYONE to suffer, instead of just the bank clients. - tt112, on 09/28/2008, -1/+17Impeach Bush!!!
http://kucinich.us - Wronghead, on 09/28/2008, -1/+16Don't worry, it will trickle down.
http://www.trueblueliberal.com/wp-content/photos/t ... - badqat, on 09/28/2008, -0/+15@ Krakerjax - you're confusing the differences between the house and the senate.
Filibusters take place in the Senate, and require 60 votes (under senate rules) to end. Can't get the 60 votes, it'll keep on going...and going...and going...
The house normally allows every member to speak for a five minute period on any subject, but will pull this ability on occasion. For example, they denied house Republicans the ability to speak on drilling recently, because they lined up in droves to each get their five minutes.
In this case, they apparently didn't care for what Mr. Kucinich was saying, and banged the gavel and pulled his time. - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -3/+16SCORCHED EARTH POLICY:
YOU DON'T WAN'T THE BAILOUT?!
STOP PAYING YOUR F'NG CREDIT CARD BILLS.
EASY. - Myrth, on 09/28/2008, -1/+14Newsflash: US is governed by a dictatorship of corporate lobbies with most politicians as their puppets.
- Scheitbag, on 09/28/2008, -0/+12its always nice to see Kucinich serving up an extra large portion of truth for everyone to munch on.
- jerbaker, on 09/28/2008, -0/+12Funny how all these free market types are suddenly against a free market when it fails. Now they want socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor. I've told you all along (check my history) that neocons don't support a free market at all. They want to keep profits private and costs public.
- rynsa, on 09/28/2008, -0/+12At one point in his speech, Mr. Kucinich refers to our current economic system as 'casino socialism.' That's an evocative and poignant description, I think. Has anyone else ever heard that before? Is this Mr. Kucinich's term or is he borrowing it from another source?
It would be wonderful if we could move this concept into the public sphere the way Karl Rove, Fox News and company have inundated us with hollow neocon phrases like 'values voters,' 'maverick', and 'terrorist fist jab.' What would it take to reframe the reframing, if you know what I mean? - robgarbo, on 09/28/2008, -0/+12Why haven't we heard any economists talk about this bailout?
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -0/+12Did anyone else notice how empty the room was? Why aren't those ***** congressman doing their damn jobs. The least they could do is pretend to care.
