And all it took was a 4000 point drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Avg. - KSUdesigner, on 10/08/2008, -0/+174The clock isn't too small, the debt is too big.
- GovernmentSp00k, on 10/08/2008, -1/+115Just imagine what would happen if Dancing With the Stars was suddenly cancelled. Or sporting events were restricted from broadcast nationwide.
- brad016, on 10/08/2008, -4/+108When the Dollar turns to mush will I still have to go to school?
- mycutepetpics, on 10/08/2008, -6/+103The dollar is already mush and unfortunately you still have to go to school.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -7/+103two more digits?
If we get Zimbabwayan inflation going, two digits won't suffice.
Instead of more digits and a new clock, what is missing is three or four nooses with Bernanke and Greenspan and Bush dangling over Manhattan as crows eat the eyes out of their skulls. - d1sturbdapeace, on 10/08/2008, -5/+95McCain.
- diggB, on 10/08/2008, -0/+83Maybe we can just let it roll over to all zeros like my odometer and see if anyone notices.
BTW. Does anyone want to buy my 1989 Toyota Corolla? It only has 9k miles on it ... - Airforcefalco, on 10/08/2008, -0/+77Is this really a problem? Think of the jobs that a new clock would make!
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+66NYSE and the World's Stock Markets.... let's look at them for what they really are - the world's largest casino's.

- avengingturnip, on 10/08/2008, -0/+51Somebody better ask Congress for a bailout to pay for a new clock.
- deenoop, on 10/08/2008, -1/+43you know it's ***** when you have a debt clock!
- brad3378, on 10/08/2008, -1/+41When this debt clock ( http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/ )
ticked past the $10 Trillion mark last week, I had to email the website's owner to notify him that the clock was broken.
It was displaying the commas in the wrong place like this:
$1,000,000,000,0000.00 instead of like this
$10,000,000,000,000.00
I can't believe that was last week because by this time tomorrow, we'll be past the $10.2 trillion mark.
Thankfully it looks like it has slowed down for the time being. - reddikilowatt, on 10/08/2008, -0/+37Nope. Straight to the wool loom for you! Watch your fingers, those parts can pinch if you're not paying attention.
- brad3378, on 10/08/2008, -1/+37LOL
Nice to see that you have a sense of humor with all of this going on.
Lately I've been unable to laugh much, so I appreciate the humor. - brad3378, on 10/08/2008, -2/+33God Damn it!

- pooljoe, on 10/08/2008, -0/+24They need put a GIANT slot machine under it for the tourists to play and think it a jackpot...some recovery better than none.
- svendm, on 10/08/2008, -1/+24Clinton?! He's the only one of those who did anything about it!
http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/history.gif
He'd brought the increase to a near standstill by the time he left office (with a federal budget surplus, I might add).
Not that this was necessarily his intent - the Repub majority in Congress did't allow him to increase spending whereas he wouldn't support their big tax cuts. Nevertheless.. Clinton is not to blame for this mess. - xutopia, on 10/08/2008, -0/+23Don't worry guys! We can order a new clock from the Chinese!
- cdtoad, on 10/08/2008, -0/+22Wow... they beat McDonald's with their Billions & Billions served... We've been served
- pdizz, on 10/08/2008, -0/+20It's like that song, "1 step forward, 750,000 steps back"

- Frostek, on 10/08/2008, -4/+22You don't know what socialism means.
- gumby013, on 10/08/2008, -2/+19The irony is that buying the new Debt Clock adds to the number on the Debt Clock.
- OneLess, on 10/08/2008, -3/+19We are ***** screwed.

- Demener, on 10/08/2008, -0/+14I don't remember the part where tax payers have to give money to the people who lose big at casinos.
- lisaawesome, on 10/08/2008, -2/+16Sadly I don't think a large bit of America really knows what scientific notation is.
- elizabethb221, on 10/08/2008, -0/+14I took a picture of that when I was there this spring and it was at 9,202,563,384,464 in March.
- naughtyboy, on 10/08/2008, -0/+13I wonder why the dollar has strengthened lately. Anyone with a economic knowledge willing to explain?
- Bagos1, on 10/08/2008, -3/+16Make sure you are armed. You will have lot's of looters to deal with.

- carleethian, on 10/08/2008, -3/+15Third party rocks, but it doesn't do *****. Gore would be president if it weren't for ***** voting for independents instead of him.
- simplyintricate, on 10/08/2008, -2/+14How about, instead of sitting here and saying it's a terrible thing, we get up and do something? I've been canvassing around my precinct now and you should start.
Educate people! We need to have an informed population that will question and attack the government. Remember, the government should be afraid of us, it should never be the other way around. - JFitzpatrick, on 10/08/2008, -0/+12That's what I tell people! Actually I tell them to prepare for a zombie apocalypse. If you can survive a horde of zombies, shooting a few rioters hopped up on meth is a walk in the park.
