- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Pfizers consumer health care unit, not Pfizer. Basically they are buying a bunch of over-the-counter medications.
- PissedGodzilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6i wouldn't say J&J is completely buying Pfizer though, just it's consumer division, like soaps and baby oils and products like that. The title is a Little misleading.
- M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4viagra in shampoo now? Showertimes just got a lot more interesting.
- redsox59, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Its funny you'd think a company with two Johnsons wouldn't need any viagra!
- cptspanky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Its own brands include Band-Aids, Tylenol and Neutrogena." I wonder what else J&J owns. Should I be thanking them for every single thing in my bathroom?
- shershbe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3JNJ owns a LOT. They are mostly known for their baby care products, but in fact make many of the products you use every day. Check out this for more information...Wiki . What is most interesting about JNJ though isn't their consumer products, but the fact that if you have to get a new hip, or have laproscopic surgery then the parts most likely came from them.
- chicksdigme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hmm, they have so many overlaps in product lines though. I don't know how they can or whether they would push two similar products.
I love my Lubriderm (by Pfizer). I hope J&J will keep making that product for people with dry skin.
Btw, I've recently notice Digg is not just about tech news anymore :P - volcompimp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So not only will they be selling me boner pills but the stuff to rub it down with too? Sweet...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Pfizer's market cap is 160 billion -- marked as innaccurate for the title.
- dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What a waste of time trying to decipher what the hell you just said. :)
- dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People like you are the reason why people like myself don't submit perfectly good articles. If you read the article, you wouldn't need to bitch about the fact that the title is a little of. Not to mention. I included in the DESCRIPTION ....exactly what part of PFIZER was bought out by Johnson & Johnson.
Now hop back onto your little elitist horse and scurry off. - sremick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Liar.
"Johnson & Johnson is buying Pfizer Consumer Health Care division" fits just fine. Or just:
"Johnson & Johnson is buying part of Pfizer"
If you can't submit to Digg without resorting to inaccurate sensationalist titles, then just don't submit. Thanks. - FinanceBuzz, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1I find it curious that Pfizer would get rid of a stabilizing component of its product portfolio. Seems that selling off the consumer division would pose greater risk for the company. They are even more dependent upon maintaining patent protection of high-revenue generating drugs now.

:) - dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Couldn't completely fit all that ingormation into the title. So I put it into the description. :)
No need to be whiney nazis. - cheez, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4monopolies!
- abdul88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0yea , the title IS misleadin , I waz thinking the WHOLE company , wht a waste of time readin it
- SlackerCSB, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1As long as the flow of Viagra keeps coming, I don't care how stiff the price is or who distributes it!
