In search of competition

sethgodin.typepad.com — Some businesses prefer to catch you when you have no choice. They use market conditions or even patents to ensure that they can be the bully. I'm not sure that there's anything wrong with this, but I'm certain that it is a deliberate choice.

    On the intranet, users don't get to vote. Tech and Business tends to win over user experience. On the Web, users get to vote. It shifts the power back to users. On the Web, users get to vote with their feet. Friction free. If your search engine sucks, they'll use another. I'm a fan of user empowerment and competing on value over bully tactics.
