- MorganMghee, on 10/19/2008, -1/+24So, the FBI is hiring?
- thetanbark, on 10/19/2008, -0/+18No. They're suggesting you take up identity fraud as a new profession because they don't have enough agents to catch you.
- Elderon, on 10/19/2008, -0/+15I have an idea, get rid of the department of homeland security and the TSA. Then take all that saved money and send it to the FBI to help them do there job
- hugolp, on 10/19/2008, -3/+16Very convinient.
- badqat, on 10/19/2008, -1/+14Uh...isn't that obvious?
- stevo9er, on 10/19/2008, -0/+13I think we all know that maybe 10 people tops will get tried, half will get acquitted, the remaining few will serve barely any time, maybe pay some fines, and that is it.
- AmnesiacJack, on 10/19/2008, -1/+12They don't have to think when they know.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 10/19/2008, -0/+10Yes. Of course.
- cabdirazzaq, on 10/19/2008, -1/+10They are interested in more important issues as the dialogue below will show:
MULDER
Look at this Scully. (He shows her the Springfield Shopper newspaper, with headline: "Human Blimp Sees Flying Saucer" and a picture of Homer) There's been another unsubstantiated UFO sighting in the heartland of America. We've got to get there right away.
SCULLY
Well, gee Mulder. There's also this report of a shipment of drugs and illegal weapons coming into New Jersey tonight.
MULDER
I hardly think the FBI is concerned with matters like that. - kirakun, on 10/19/2008, -4/+13Does the U.S. government really think that its citizens are this stupid?
- npsken, on 10/19/2008, -0/+7I must have read that about 10 times and I still don't get what your point is...
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -0/+7PROTIP: PUSH THE CAPS LOCK BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF BEFORE TYPING ANYTHING. EVER.
- nc1024, on 10/19/2008, -0/+6No FBI agents available to investigate Wall St. financial crimes because they're all investigating "voter fraud" at ACORN...Country, First, right....
- bullhead2007, on 10/19/2008, -3/+9THey could start by looking here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Wall+St,+N ...
and here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=F ... - imacoder, on 10/19/2008, -1/+6How do I apply?
- thecatcantalk, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5Mission Accomplished!
First they starved the S.E.C. of funds, so that all their best lawyers would quit and move on to private practice, and now they've succeeded in castrating the F.B.I., as well. While having created a massive Secret Police force that's not governed by anyone except the President, and cannot be controlled or even inspected by any lawful body. This is why they're called "BANANA REPUBLICANS".
They've turned the U.S.A. into an international laughingstock, just like Italy, or Mexico. - dalittle, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4Good thing all those resources are available for copyright infringement investigations. That fancy new tzar of copyright infringement can get re-purposed for fraud investigations today. Problem solved.
- liuite, on 10/20/2008, -0/+4how about the people that gave AAA rating to the mortgage backed securities. they should be investigated to see if it was fraud or imcompetence.
- zeeohsix, on 10/19/2008, -2/+6you would think they already know misusing the Patriot Act
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4And the rest will collect billions of USD as a reward for "remaking Capitalism".
- Batfishy, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4Quit with the scare tactics already. Coffee is outrageous now, by the way.
- 08soso, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3But they have plenty of time for a half-assed witch hunt against ACORN, despite the failure of U.S. Attoneys in 2006 to find any criminal wrongdoing by the group when the GOP tried the same thing, resulting in the firing of at least a couple of those U.S. Attorneys. As usual, something is rotten in DOJ.
- BlatheringIdiot, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3There will be a big dog-and-pony show to demonstrate how 'govt is on top of issues...
- spectecjr, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Dude, you're a racist prick with a brain the size of a pea.
- bigjohn426, on 10/19/2008, -1/+4seems pretty "plain"...
- thecatcantalk, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Oh, good, then we can close all the civil courthouses and fire all the judges. No need for tort laws, then.
BTW, "caveat emptor" was a phrase employed by people who kept slaves to do all their hard work for them, and had no police departments, no District Attorneys, no F.B.I., and a hereditary monarchy. Is that REALLY the kind of culture you want? - inactive, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3When government does everything it shouldn't it only stands to reason they won't have the resources to do what they should. It's long past the time for the American people to get off their lazy asses and start to fight back. Not just blogs or YouTube videos, but real resistance. Boycott Wall Street - shop local! Get you money out of the bank ... keep nothing in there but basic cash and store your wealth in gold & silver. Start thinking about a national strike. Start thinking about law suits. America would be fine ... more than fine we would still be the envy of the world if government just obeyed the Constitution!
- com2, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Don't you get it yet, left/right/repub/dem they are ALL financed by big business. It takes a lot of money to get into office & even more to stay there. The only choice we have is the choices 'big brother' gives us, & that's just how they like it.
- thecatcantalk, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Oh, who do you think you're fooling? Republicans have controlled the Federal government for 38 out of the last 50 years. Aside from Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, all the other Presidents since Nixon have been Republicans.
And Nixon was a Republican, don't forget that. Sure, the progressive deregulation that caused this catastrophe started under the Carter administration, but it was the G.O.P. that kept throwing shotgun shells in the campfire, all these years. Reagan and Bush II being the worst offenders, at the end of the day.
So how dare anyone blame to people who actually CAUSED this mess? Oh, we dare. All you smug G.O.P. bastards in your ***** gated-community McMansions should be deported to Mexico, to work as white slaves in a Mexican taco factory.
Your neighbors will NEVER forgive you for what you've done to this country. If I had a G.O.P. bumpersticker on my car, I'd take it off in a hurry, so as to avoid having my windshield smashed out, this Halloween. - magoghm, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2There's plenty of fraud in Wall Street right now. Many institutions have been selling shares they don't have, in other words: they have been selling fake shares!
For very detailed information about this, take a look at http://www.deepcapture.com - inactive, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2The FBI is mostly incompetent.
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -5/+7does the Federal Bureau of Idiots know that 9/11 was an INSIDE JOB??????????///
- flangepiece, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2I saw a dog and pony show once. Man, there really is some freaky ***** in Amsterdam.
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2Yes to JohnFromChicago, and I saw this as a DoD employee. There are a few things gov't should do, and the rest the people have to do. But at least the FBI is finally getting back to its real job. Terrorism is the least likely of all the threats the U.S. faces internally, and the FBI could easily use Wikipedia and Amazon to search for hedge fund operators and other investment types. Most are arrogant enough to not only put up biographical pages about themselves, but even write books on their successes. They virtually document their own crimes in some cases. I hope whoever wins the election makes finding all the Wall Street and Congressional miscreants, convicts where appropriate, and punishes by confiscation of assets (which is redistribution of wealth I can live with).
- HunterGathers, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2I think he's retarded
- wcarver, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2The entire hedge fund racket has to be stepped on hard. With the amount of financial power these funds have they can manipulate the market to their advantage with little or no oversight and very few regulations to control their machinations. Until these funds are brought under strict regulation they will continue to screw up the financial system and the hole will grow wider and deeper.
- jasonbalmforth, on 10/19/2008, -0/+1Due to excessive government bureaucracy surrounding the handling of animals they'll most likely just go through a song and dance act instead.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 10/19/2008, -1/+2I think I heard a shot.
- MWeather, on 10/20/2008, -0/+1Think? No. Know? Yes.

Dodd, Frank and the others who insisted that these practices were not a problem. How ***** stupid are the people that want more of this ***** with Obama and the demoncrats. Try as you might to blame a Republican for this. Too many leftists are on record keeping these thieves from being regulated. Good luck with a demoncrat presidency. You will be lucky to afford coffee.
