Easy to catch, harder to throw.
sethgodin.typepad.com — There are two types of people: catchers and thowers. Catching is subscribing to a blog or rss, throwing is publishing something. Seth makes the point that every thow should be personalised to the catcher, treating them with respect. In other words, don't pitch hard into the catcher's face, they won't enjoy it and will stop playing with you. :-)

- AlvinVoo, on 04/14/2008, -0/+0Cool. Great stuffs :) Throw and spam.. how thin the line is.
- dbxflounder, on 04/14/2008, -0/+0Great observation, working with clients, constantly, it's the distinction between quantity and quality of not only the lead but the messaging. The would prefer to pump it out, while creating the correct, careful message creates the shorter, more effective sales cycle
- gmansky, on 06/12/2008, -0/+0Seth, well said. Seth is one of the people where I learned permissive marketing. I'm afraid with web2.0 and google's ppc, we're getting a second generation of spammers that couldn't care less if they're giving value or junk.
