- bobdobolena, on 07/16/2008, -1/+10I know why you're here, Digger. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer. You're looking for him. I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Digger. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.
- notoneofus, on 07/16/2008, -1/+6The link to the bit about virtual worlds is actually here: http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/may ...
Not a bad article. Though there's not a lot of substance to it, I believe it's point is absolutely true. We're going to see a significant amount of enterprise-level use of virtual worlds very soon. Many people are so stuck on the "failures" of marketing campaigns in Second Life that they are missing the bigger picture. These spaces will be invaluable for, among other things, real-time collaboration, data visualization, rapid prototyping, and distance learning. - Ksg89, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Activeworlds.

- DoctorGumbo, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Virtual worlds will have appeal especially to a more corporate market if they can offer simplicity along with value. In terms of simplicity, I stumbled upon this new virtual world called Yoowalk.com which is entirely done in flash. I'm not sure its developed enough to the extent of corporate training but it definitely has some potential. Something like this might be more understandable than second life, which I personally find quite confusing.

- rontowns25, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0Virtual worlds are going to continue to develop into corporate tools, which will assist with training new employees. Its a great time to get involved in a virtual world. They are hot. They have a lot of traction. And the opportunities down the road are fantastic... www.readtheanswer.com/index.php?RTA=web2
