Boston Home Sales Fall To 15-Year Low

fsbo.fizber.com — Boston, MA (AHN) - Single-family house sales in Boston dipped to a 15-year low by 8.4 percent, indicating how the real estate slump has negatively affected various U.S. states. Only 50,435 new single-family homes were sold in 2007, down from 2006’s 55,054, according to a report by The Warren Group, publisher of real estate information in Boston.

  • lprovo, on 02/19/2008, -0/+0Fizber.com operates as a national listing portal. The problem in the post is that they paint the real estate market in very broad strokes. Markets are very local and what's going on in Boston, Massachusetts is not necessarily happening in other areas of the same state. Western Massachusetts real estate, including Hampshire county, is relatively stable, making it an attractive area in which to purchase. When we get our news on a national or global basis, it makes it difficult to "digg" down to the local level, but it must be done in order to really know where the good news may be found. Regional FSBO marketing companies know their local market, and that knowledge is critical. Just Google "regional fsbo publishers" to begin understanding how the real estate market works in your area.
