On a more serious note though. Google is runs the largest ad network on the web. Combine that with their search engine, Google Docs, GMail, Chrome, Docs, and now even Chrome OS and they can deliver you very, very targeted ads. As technology continues to improve, these ads will only become more targeted and perhaps invasive. Interesting to see where things will go in the Marketing world. - fratresminores, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3FTA:
"Web inventor Berners-Lee described a future in which all data would be linked together in a universal database that included not only personal computers, but all electronic devices. He discussed “digital agents” that would know everything about a person. The digital agents would know the user’s location, his habits, his medical conditions, his preferences — and would constantly provide him with options for daily life."
This sounds like where Google is heading. - TylerWentAway, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Look, if you don't want your brain waves, browsing history, medical records and credit information mapped into Coca Cola's files, don't buy Coke! Anybody can drop out and go live in the forest. A consumer complaining that a corporation is invading their privacy is like Hayden Panatierre complaining that people are taking too many pictures of her.

- asf4life, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1This problem will inevitably get worse as long as techonolgy continues to improve. The obvious solution is to just avoid the business in question, but sometimes that is almost impossible.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -2/+1Dear spammers,
Its not just that we won't click on your ads or ignore you propositions. Its not just that we blacklist you and DVR your crap right out of existence. Its that even if we did want to buy your worthless crap, we can't because we are jobless and broke.
