- NBGill, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1It is outrageous that the money the taxpayers are putting up to support the banks is apparently going to be used for mergers and acquisitions, not to supply credit to keep the economy liquid and prevent bankruptcies and foreclosures. It is an undercovered story. If more people understood this, there would be some drastic changes in Washington on Election Day.

Here I thought banks exist to store money, and lend it when people need it. I guess the White House is conceding that America is no where near as prosperous as we appear, but depend on consumer to credit to amplify our incomes. It's an amazing level of arrogance and ignorance to think you can pay slave wages, with never ending inflationary cycles and not have the piper come demand his money one day.
We The People MUST end the Fed, and demand our government obey it's own laws.
