- edwardmills, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1A truly awesome list of indispensable tools for on-line entrepreneurs!
- Winters, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Uhh it's not really all that awesome.
Some things like Cell phone and Gmail are so painfully obvious it makes me wonder why the hell they are on the list. It's like saying "keyboard" or "electricity". (Actually wireless keyboard is on the list)
Some items are repeated in more than one category, like colorzilla (which really is a great plugin, btw).
And if you can name 164 things on a list, that includes notepad++ and not mention VIM, then I can't really take it very seriously.

- kenxu, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Great Lists of essential tools!

- NerdyNinja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I don't know about this... I can't believe some of the items on this list.
"Sony VAIO laptop. Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard" - yes, you need a computer to be successful online. Having a keyboard helps too, but make sure it's a brand name. That's like saying in order to live a successful life, you have to remember to breathe. And who recommends either Apple TextEdit or MS Notepad for coding, I mean really?
Come on, here's the real list of absolutely ESSENTIAL tools:
- Text editor of your choice, as long as it includes syntax coloring
- Multiple web browsers for testing (and preferably at least some form of access to different OS platforms)
- Advanced (i.e. not MS Paint) graphics program, particularly something from Adobe or Corel.
- Bookmark to w3.org, htmlgoodies, and a book on CSS and your favorite scripting language
- FTP program of your choice (I like Transmit personally)
- Access to a database (MySQL is free and opensourced, and works quite well with most of the widely used scripting languages)
Extra, less *ESSENTIAL* tools include blogging software or CMS of your choice (if you don't want to write your own backend) and highly caffeinated beverage. - wildfire, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This list sucks.
How about first acquiring this useful tool: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain - RationalAntaxia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2164??? thats a couple too many i feel.
- Winters, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That's ok becuase they list 5 FTP clients and list some items twice like colorzilla. So really it's probably only like 10 if you subtract out websites, obvious tools, and repeats. :P
- 78vbsle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1pretty useless
- anzhansen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Adding an education wouldn't hurt
