- RcHer, on 04/28/2008, -3/+39Who is DeShawn Stevenson?
- ErikHarrison, on 04/28/2008, -9/+40I hate how Jay-Z constantly calls himself "The Best Rapper Alive"...
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -2/+32Stevenson is a freaking joke. Career: 8.7 PPG, 2.4 Reb, 1.9 Ast, 42.3 FG%.
...and he has the stones to say LeBron James is overrated? Nobody would even know this scrub outside of D.C. if he wasn't pulling this crap. Ask Spike Lee, Chris Bosh's girlfriend, and other random jokers, angering LeBron James is NOT a good idea. Stevenson should spend his efforts giving Gilbert Arenas the Heimlich...I think he choked on something. - chrissku, on 04/28/2008, -0/+22I wanna be involved. Please add my name to the headline.
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -7/+18O...K... uneducated millionaires arguing like 5 year olds - impressive!
- iidestined, on 04/28/2008, -0/+10Jay-z is getting Lebron's back so in a few years, James can sign with the Brooklyn Nets. James is very tight with Jay. NY is the biggest market. It seems like a smart business move for Jay to get entangled in this little feud to get into Lebrons good graces.
- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -2/+12I'll take a "DeShawn" over a "Phil" any day.
- ScottoGato, on 04/28/2008, -2/+12Could somebody please find Ja Rule so I can make sense of all this?!
- stukdog, on 04/28/2008, -1/+10I don't know. I think I'd have a pretty good chance against Tupac and Notorius BIG these days.
- pointsguy, on 04/28/2008, -2/+9"It's Hova," Arenas said, referring to one of Jay-Z's nicknames. "It's the big dog. If I had three people to talk about me in a song it would be Jay-Z, Michael Jackson and Prince. And Tupac and Biggie"
Way to count, Gilbert. - jaydoj, on 04/28/2008, -3/+10WTF was that? That was hands down the worst article I've ever read. I'm an NBA fan, as well as Jay-Z, but I felt like I was reading a 15 year old girls blog about how one player is 'like, awesome' and the other one is 'soooooo dumb'. Lame article about petty *****, buried.
- youngfortune, on 04/28/2008, -3/+10and the decline of hip-hop continues.......
- Dragular, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6Nah, you can diss all you want, those two won't even flinch.
- crweaks23, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6Here's the track they played at the club: http://www.prefixmag.com/media/jay-z/deshawn-steve ...
- ronaldinho, on 04/28/2008, -1/+7Damn this is getting serious. But Stevenson is stupid to bring this onto himself. How in the world can you call someone who averages 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists a game "overrated"? Other than game 3, I didn't see Stevenson do any damage. And he needs help to do his damage. And I'm against anyone who is even willing to consider to take the side of Soulja Boy.
- spizike, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6I DON'T LIKE THIS, SO NO ONE ELSE CAN! Yeah, you suck.
- robeph, on 04/28/2008, -4/+9His egocentric attitude doesn't change that he is a great rapper, although you must admit he saves himself the folly of having to be shut down really quick with the addition of "alive" otherwise I'd have to point out several other guys who'd bury him in sales if they were still around...
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -3/+8I think this 'feud' is fun. It's good to see that Jay-Z doesn't feel 'above' a scrub like DeShawn Stevenson.
- ncnavguy, on 04/28/2008, -2/+7Not much different from our national elections except the politicions can claim education from what they have on paper.
- unkle, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5jay-z really wants lebron to play for the nets... this takes tampering to another level
- Wendigo6x3, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5wow. im not gonna post the stats, but lebron doubles up deshawn in almost every relevant category....
- AutomaticTLC, on 04/28/2008, -9/+14There are four people that I allow to record diss tracks: 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and Nas. No body stands a chance against them.
- jsams81, on 06/26/2009, -1/+6are you stupid? nothing reflects it.
lets see here:
avg points: james - 29.5 | stevenson - 11.8
avg rebounds: james - 8.5 | stevenson - 1.5
avg assists: james - 6.5 | stevenson - 3.3
I could go on. - staticneuron, on 04/28/2008, -2/+6Come' on, Eminem, sway, rhymefest, ll cool j, cannibus, lil wayne and quite a few others can lay down somme pretty harsh diss tracks as well.
- Zihuatanejo, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4Um, the Wizards play in Washington? The Washington Post covers sports?
- fishface, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4How's it any different than LeBron?
Other than the fact that LeBron is a way better player - inactive, on 04/28/2008, -2/+6Should he be named John instead? Or what about Bob? Dugg down for ignorance of culture.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -1/+5Go to the corner of Huron and Ontario in Cleveland, Ohio. Look up.
- form3hide, on 04/28/2008, -4/+8Why? Because it's something your culture isn't used to?
- form3hide, on 04/28/2008, -1/+5we like it?
- logan074, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Lebron has more rebounds per game, more points per game, and more assists per game. But other than that he is getting out performed in a big way. Right?
- HeDiggMe, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Guess you haven't heard Jack the Ripper or The Ripper Strikes Back. LL Cool J basically ended the careers of Kool Moe Dee and Canibus, respectively.
NSFW language - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBYJ0QhIPEw - purplehaze420, on 04/28/2008, -2/+5I have to disagree. Where else would I have heard about this? Certainly not on my local sports-talk shows... Or the NBA site, and it's not like I'm frequently checking the Washington post. I like stories from local-news papers etc, cause I never would have seen them if it weren't for Digg.
- WiZZLa, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Both Lil Wayne & Kanye have ghostwriters and use other artist's lines. Kanye's biggest hit to date was written by Rhymefest.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -2/+5Exactly.
- marcamillion, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3This is hilarious:
"DeShawn's Got Soulja/
LeBron's Got Hova/
Game 4 is off da hook/
Now this column is ova" - bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3The entire article makes light of the "feud" because it's ridiculous by anyone's standard. I mean, how many Washington Post articles have you read that ends in a rap? I enjoyed the piece-- it was fun and wisecracking.
- robeph, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Exactly, because some people like it. You know, what is funny is that people digg stories they like, thus, if it gets dugg up, you're question as to why it is here, has thus been answered... don't ask stupid questions go digg what you like.
- apoc06, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3ill give you eminem and lil wayne. i can let you slide w ll cool j. he just needs motivation to put out anything decent.
as far as "modern" diss records, dont sleep on dmx and 50 cent. anyone that can end another "multiplatinum" artist's career deserves some credit. - splobk, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Jay doesnt write, neither does Kanye... others write for Kanye.
- alexrmdr, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Link to Jay-Z diss and response by DMV's ProVerb
http://www.939wkys.com/article.asp?id=361216 - Jeeverz, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Comment of the night !
- bearcat8543, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Wheres Ja?! I gotta find Ja!
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Nope, he's the same. Choked then too.
- phenolholic, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2that gangster hiphop talk is not welcomed on digg. do that in myspace blogs
- Flamancot, on 04/28/2008, -3/+5.... my god, white people.. Scary.
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Because that doesn't cause controversy or make money.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2He's not a joke because of his stats. Just making it to the NBA is a success itself. He's a joke because he has those stats and is calling a guy who averages 29/7/7 overrated. It's laughable.
- skyshock1, on 04/28/2008, -3/+5And we all know who the winners are when rappers start killing each other.... US!!!
- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3Dude. Why dog Gilbert Arenas? The man is recovering from knee surgery. Besides, he hit more clutch shots last year before the injury than most NBA players do in their entire career.
