- Odenized, on 04/28/2008, -3/+8I think this 'feud' is fun. It's good to see that Jay-Z doesn't feel 'above' a scrub like DeShawn Stevenson.
- crweaks23, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6Here's the track they played at the club: http://www.prefixmag.com/media/jay-z/deshawn-steve ...
- Wendigo6x3, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1dude, your name is awesome. my pic is oden too
- ErikHarrison, on 04/28/2008, -9/+40I hate how Jay-Z constantly calls himself "The Best Rapper Alive"...
- ElAssoWipo, on 04/28/2008, -5/+3He's referring to his early career, it's actually best "wrapper" alive.
- MrZaiko, on 04/28/2008, -7/+3All rappers are cocky, its all part of the game. Dont hate...
- CHAD3814, on 04/28/2008, -4/+2While that's true, is it still bragging or being cocky if it's true?
- robeph, on 04/28/2008, -4/+9His egocentric attitude doesn't change that he is a great rapper, although you must admit he saves himself the folly of having to be shut down really quick with the addition of "alive" otherwise I'd have to point out several other guys who'd bury him in sales if they were still around...
- LongShlong, on 04/28/2008, -3/+4He isn't good, though. He sounds like a drawling retarded child at an open mic night with shallow and uninspired lyrics. Much of his stuff is lifted from other rappers, too.
- jerrolds, on 04/28/2008, -6/+2He's right - i mean..since biggie and tupac are dead ...whoever killed them are the biggest douches, i guarantee they regret it because they know theyre responsible for ruining hip hop forever
Other than Jay-Z, who else is there? Kanye maybe?- jayrok, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3I believe Snoop is still alive.
- RomeyRome, on 04/28/2008, -2/+2Unfortunately. Should of quit while he was ahead.
- jayrok, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2Should have, you mean?
He's at the pinnacle of his evolution right now!

- RomeyRome, on 04/28/2008, -2/+2Unfortunately. Should of quit while he was ahead.
- j0se, on 04/28/2008, -5/+1actually the best rapper alive is WEEZY F BABY. LIL WAYNE!
- WiZZLa, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Both Lil Wayne & Kanye have ghostwriters and use other artist's lines. Kanye's biggest hit to date was written by Rhymefest.
- jayrok, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3I believe Snoop is still alive.
- j0se, on 04/28/2008, -2/+1best rapper alive! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klMt3kGkysQ
- Buddhist, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1imo, Jay still has nothing on Dre.
- protogenxl, on 04/28/2008, -17/+13Buried as Lame
- robeph, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2Like your comment, (no one comes here to see people who don't like the stories post (unfunny) one liners about how they don't like the story.) This isn't just some homeboys duking it out over a nickel sack.... this is major nba players and a crossover into a rather interesting social arena that in the past has been full of violence. Though I'm not even the biggest fan of rap (I like a lot of hip hop, but tend to avoid the overly gangsta rap, gimme the head bobbin beats of wutang any day) this will be interesting.. I suggest you actually read the story, it is a lot better than the repetitive Brittney has shaved her head but not her crotch and its all on film story...
- phre3k187, on 04/28/2008, -19/+16Jay-Z sucks
- AutomaticTLC, on 04/28/2008, -9/+14There are four people that I allow to record diss tracks: 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and Nas. No body stands a chance against them.
- Dragular, on 04/28/2008, -2/+2Give Game some credit, he managed to make Joe Budden's last name a diss. Buddens... buddens... buddens, buddens... buddens....
- ninerskeet, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3he pretty much took down 50 by himself. i can digg that.
- Haon, on 04/28/2008, -5/+2see: Canibus
- ErikHarrison, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2Canibus SUCKS... Cannibis (weed) however is GREAT.
- stukdog, on 04/28/2008, -1/+10I don't know. I think I'd have a pretty good chance against Tupac and Notorius BIG these days.
- Dragular, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6Nah, you can diss all you want, those two won't even flinch.
- ErikHarrison, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1LOL, that's no where near accurate. Tupac and Biggie have skills, Jay-Z just "rode the wave" like Puffy did.
- staticneuron, on 04/28/2008, -2/+6Come' on, Eminem, sway, rhymefest, ll cool j, cannibus, lil wayne and quite a few others can lay down somme pretty harsh diss tracks as well.
- apoc06, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3ill give you eminem and lil wayne. i can let you slide w ll cool j. he just needs motivation to put out anything decent.
as far as "modern" diss records, dont sleep on dmx and 50 cent. anyone that can end another "multiplatinum" artist's career deserves some credit.
- apoc06, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3ill give you eminem and lil wayne. i can let you slide w ll cool j. he just needs motivation to put out anything decent.
- HeDiggMe, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Guess you haven't heard Jack the Ripper or The Ripper Strikes Back. LL Cool J basically ended the careers of Kool Moe Dee and Canibus, respectively.
NSFW language - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBYJ0QhIPEw - bowe, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2Jay-Z vs. Nas was a no contest win for Nas.

- purplehaze420, on 04/28/2008, -2/+5I have to disagree. Where else would I have heard about this? Certainly not on my local sports-talk shows... Or the NBA site, and it's not like I'm frequently checking the Washington post. I like stories from local-news papers etc, cause I never would have seen them if it weren't for Digg.

- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -2/+32Stevenson is a freaking joke. Career: 8.7 PPG, 2.4 Reb, 1.9 Ast, 42.3 FG%.
...and he has the stones to say LeBron James is overrated? Nobody would even know this scrub outside of D.C. if he wasn't pulling this crap. Ask Spike Lee, Chris Bosh's girlfriend, and other random jokers, angering LeBron James is NOT a good idea. Stevenson should spend his efforts giving Gilbert Arenas the Heimlich...I think he choked on something.- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3Dude. Why dog Gilbert Arenas? The man is recovering from knee surgery. Besides, he hit more clutch shots last year before the injury than most NBA players do in their entire career.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1Don't go for the knee. He's running his mouth too, knee or not, and throwing up the same old bricks. Once you start running your mouth, you're accountable for that. By running his mouth, Gilbert effectively says to not use his knee as an excuse.
"I'm an assassin. I get buckets," the Washington Wizards guard said after Friday's practice. "I know I haven't played in a long time, but the shot is still there, so when I come off that bench, there is going to be some trouble."

I'll leave you with this article about Mr. Clutch:
http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/flimflamunlim ...- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1lol
If the worst thing Gilbert Arenas says is that he doesn't think the Cavs can beat his team three years in a row, please, please, shut up about running his mouth. FYI: that's what's called self-deprecating humor.
- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1lol

- vanguardanon, on 04/28/2008, -3/+18 years in the league is not a joke. I guess your comment struck me wrong because I'm a Malik Rose fan. He might not be a star but he's a good man and he went to Drexel at the same time I did. (He left there ranked #2 in all time NCAA rebounds.) He may only score 6.3 points per game (career) but he's been in the league for 13 years so I'd have to say he's been an NBA success. Also, he earned two championship rings in the prime of his career.
Maybe it's because I'm from RTP and guys from Duke, UNC, and to some extend NC State and Wake Forest are going pro all the time. It's easy to feel like you somewhat know these guys. Not all of them are Michael Jordan anybody that spends more than 3 or 4 years in the league worked out pretty well.- s9er80, on 04/28/2008, -1/+0Go Dragons!
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2He's not a joke because of his stats. Just making it to the NBA is a success itself. He's a joke because he has those stats and is calling a guy who averages 29/7/7 overrated. It's laughable.
- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3Dude. Why dog Gilbert Arenas? The man is recovering from knee surgery. Besides, he hit more clutch shots last year before the injury than most NBA players do in their entire career.
- JohnnyRad, on 04/28/2008, -11/+3Why are people digging this?
- form3hide, on 04/28/2008, -1/+5we like it?
- robeph, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Exactly, because some people like it. You know, what is funny is that people digg stories they like, thus, if it gets dugg up, you're question as to why it is here, has thus been answered... don't ask stupid questions go digg what you like.
- spizike, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6I DON'T LIKE THIS, SO NO ONE ELSE CAN! Yeah, you suck.

- philwalsh, on 04/28/2008, -13/+7Dugg for the geniuses who named their kid "DeShawn"
- form3hide, on 04/28/2008, -4/+8Why? Because it's something your culture isn't used to?
- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -2/+12I'll take a "DeShawn" over a "Phil" any day.
- blackdude, on 04/28/2008, -2/+6Should he be named John instead? Or what about Bob? Dugg down for ignorance of culture.
- fishface, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4How's it any different than LeBron?
Other than the fact that LeBron is a way better player
- ronaldinho, on 04/28/2008, -1/+7Damn this is getting serious. But Stevenson is stupid to bring this onto himself. How in the world can you call someone who averages 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists a game "overrated"? Other than game 3, I didn't see Stevenson do any damage. And he needs help to do his damage. And I'm against anyone who is even willing to consider to take the side of Soulja Boy.
- akademiks, on 04/28/2008, -11/+5Jay-Z is a ***** clown.
- akademiks, on 04/28/2008, -1/+0Oh yeah, here's the song.
http://www.zshare.net/audio/111947519332b92f/
I repeat; Jay-z is a ***** clown.
"We're so big, we ain't gotta respond".. yet he dedicates the next 2 minutes to this "nobody".
- akademiks, on 04/28/2008, -1/+0Oh yeah, here's the song.
- youngfortune, on 04/28/2008, -3/+10and the decline of hip-hop continues.......
- pointsguy, on 04/28/2008, -2/+9"It's Hova," Arenas said, referring to one of Jay-Z's nicknames. "It's the big dog. If I had three people to talk about me in a song it would be Jay-Z, Michael Jackson and Prince. And Tupac and Biggie"
Way to count, Gilbert.- ninerskeet, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2Gilbert's ***** great! The guy's such a clown (in a good way)!
- Noonish, on 04/28/2008, -2/+1"...That means he sat down somewhere, three minutes out of his time he had to write something."
I thought Jay-z (and kanye) don't write rhymes, they do it off the top of their head. I couldn't find a good answer online anywhere though. anyone know?- splobk, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Jay doesnt write, neither does Kanye... others write for Kanye.
- mbraynard, on 04/28/2008, -4/+1I wonder how effective dis raps played in clubs are given how hard it is to understand what the rapper is saying.
- nycmac247, on 04/28/2008, -7/+18O...K... uneducated millionaires arguing like 5 year olds - impressive!
- ncnavguy, on 04/28/2008, -2/+7Not much different from our national elections except the politicions can claim education from what they have on paper.
- paidhima, on 04/28/2008, -2/+1Yeah, sorry, I think there's a pretty big difference.

- MrZaiko, on 04/28/2008, -6/+4I love how they have to make examples/analogies so the white crowd can understand.
"But Damon Jones? That's like Bono responding to John Mayer." - iamtodd, on 04/28/2008, -7/+3Seriously ***** club *love* and *the park* overpriced money gagging stuck up bitches..I will admit that Lebron is not overrated granted he's pretty good..but the man/boy is a cry baby...every foul he's looking for a Flagrant..boo hoo he hit me TOUGH it's basketball u drive to the basket you get whack that's how it is...GOO Wizards..even though we're down 3-1 :( and prolly will lose the next game...Gil just isn't the same Gil we had last year.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Nope, he's the same. Choked then too.
- jaydoj, on 04/28/2008, -3/+10WTF was that? That was hands down the worst article I've ever read. I'm an NBA fan, as well as Jay-Z, but I felt like I was reading a 15 year old girls blog about how one player is 'like, awesome' and the other one is 'soooooo dumb'. Lame article about petty *****, buried.
- bicyclethief, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3The entire article makes light of the "feud" because it's ridiculous by anyone's standard. I mean, how many Washington Post articles have you read that ends in a rap? I enjoyed the piece-- it was fun and wisecracking.
- FearFactory, on 04/28/2008, -6/+1Oh snap! The ***** is ON NOW!!!! ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!! word up...
- techweenie1, on 04/28/2008, -9/+7God I'm so sick of these wannab thugs and their gay ass feud-raps...please do me a favor and have a shootout..
- techweenie1, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1Actually I take that back...I'm really sick of you white folks who listen to and support this ***** especially the ones digging me down.
- trer, on 04/28/2008, -6/+2Instead of putting out "diss songs" why not be the real "men" they claim to be and meet at a neutral place and discuss it out reasonably?
- blackdude, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Because that doesn't cause controversy or make money.
- theskyisblue, on 04/28/2008, -4/+2wow... perhaps the most meaningless piece of "news" on digg.... please don't stoop low enough to start posting celeb news =/
- civperc, on 04/28/2008, -6/+2Um, Stevenson is out performing LeBron in a big way this series...even if 3-1 doesn't reflect it.
- Wendigo6x3, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5wow. im not gonna post the stats, but lebron doubles up deshawn in almost every relevant category....
- logan074, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3Lebron has more rebounds per game, more points per game, and more assists per game. But other than that he is getting out performed in a big way. Right?
- jizzypop, on 04/28/2008, -1/+6are you stupid? nothing reflects it.
lets see here:
avg points: james - 29.5 | stevenson - 11.8
avg rebounds: james - 8.5 | stevenson - 1.5
avg assists: james - 6.5 | stevenson - 3.3
I could go on. - BinaryDelt, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Um...you're dumb.
- xChunk, on 04/28/2008, -4/+5I can already imagine the diss track:
"Yo, yo yo. Turn the beat up. Now turn the bass up. Don't forget the treble. Ok...yo..."
NaS was right, "Hip-Hop is dead." - ScottoGato, on 04/28/2008, -2/+12Could somebody please find Ja Rule so I can make sense of all this?!

- Tawni, on 04/28/2008, -3/+3Why is this news and in the Washington Post? This is just a further sign the US media will not report on the actual news just puff piece entertainment.
- Zihuatanejo, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4Um, the Wizards play in Washington? The Washington Post covers sports?
- thirdcoastborn, on 04/28/2008, -6/+0***** JayZ. that little bitch is a hoe ass *****. That bitch steals everybody's lyrics including Tupac. Tupac used to punk that fool everyday and JayZ would never say ***** cuz he was a scary lil' bitch. As soon as Tupac died all of a sudden JayZ grows some balls and starts talking ***** about Tupac and even stealing his song. ***** Lebron. Didn't that fool just admit on national TV that He and his team just quit during a game. ***** losers. break his ***** contract. bitch don't deserve 80 mill

- unkle, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5jay-z really wants lebron to play for the nets... this takes tampering to another level
- iidestined, on 04/28/2008, -0/+10Jay-z is getting Lebron's back so in a few years, James can sign with the Brooklyn Nets. James is very tight with Jay. NY is the biggest market. It seems like a smart business move for Jay to get entangled in this little feud to get into Lebrons good graces.
- Nathan187, on 04/28/2008, -1/+0It's sad to see grown ass men engaging in such childish behavior.
- Aensland, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2They probably couldn't help it, being "ass men" and all.
- MrTsLoveChild, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1that article was almost impossible to read. the writing was painful. was this actually published in the print version of the Post?
- bearcat8543, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1It seemed liked was trying way too hard to use big words and sound smart.

- marcamillion, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3This is hilarious:
"DeShawn's Got Soulja/
LeBron's Got Hova/
Game 4 is off da hook/
Now this column is ova" - jroll8481, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2First I want to say this. Stevenson saying that Lebron is overrated is not a claim that he is better than Lebron, so I dont see why bringing up his stats are relevant to the argument. Second, Lebron is overrated. He has been given all of the fame and glory of a legend long before he has done enough to actually have earned the respect. He is physically gifted, having the body of a power forward and the skills of a 2 guard. Combine that with the fact that he rarely is called for charging or traveling and he is almost impossible to defend. Lebron is a very good player and certainly a future Hall of Fame player. He is not the best player in the league though, he doesnt have that Kobe's killer instinct. He made it to the finals once when the East had no team that really was any good and all his matchups were walk throughs. I just think that all this hype surrounding him has turned him into a bit of a cry baby and an arrogant butt hole. People get so up in arms when you say anythning negative about him and now Jay Z feels the need to come in and speak up for him... just kind of sad. Jay Z won't even respond to other rappers calling him out but he will attack someone who does not even have a proper platform to respond. I am a Jay Z fan, but that does not mean I have to agree with everthing he does. basically I just think it was a bitch move.
- bearcat8543, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1No one ever said that LBJ was the best player in the league or better than Kobe or Micheal. He brought the Cavs(along with other helpful players) who had a below .500 record to the finals in a matter of a few years. That is mother ***** impressive I dont care who you cheer for. He is *one* of the best players in the league and to say that he is overrated just goes to show your lack of knowledge on the subject at hand.
- loroleg, on 04/28/2008, -2/+1How is this news?

Come on, we all know that Jay-Z owns a record label, clubs, clothing line, vodka, the NBA, MLS, Pop Warner football, and Little League...this is how you settle "beef" in sports. Well, I'm sure David Stern has a huge smile on his face.
