- Jabrams2, on 12/12/2008, -1/+7I mean, he was never REALLY a Knick, but this is very tragic to hear about
- OMGRussellCrowe, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5That's unfortunate. It's a good thing he had to get that physical.
- EffinRiot, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4The trade is like a blessing in disguise. Good thing he had that physical check up. Might have saved him his life.
- Kiwibomb, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4I hate to hear about players who are forced to walk away from the sport they love because of something beyond their control. Loved watching him when he was in LA.
- callinthelaw69, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4Whoa...that really sucks. He was always pretty fun to watch.
- Guitarist970, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3That sucks he has to stop doing what he loves, but at least he got an 11 year career out of it, and probably has enough money to not have to worry for the rest of his life. Just because he can't play anymore doesn't mean he can't still be involved with the game, he could go on to coaching, commentary, or even being an agent. He has a lot of paths he can still go down without leaving the sport of Basketball, but his health has to be his number 1 concern.
- m3mn0n, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2Smart move. I'd do the same.
What's sad though, is that most people don't get preemptive thorough health checks until the problem is serious or it's too late for early treatment. I wonder how many millions of lives could be saved on a daily basis around the world by these sorts of procedures done on a massive scale, and not just for well paid athletes... - santaliqueur, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2I'm not a fan of basketball so I've never heard of this guy, but it's really sad to see this happen to someone so young. As a hockey fan, it was heartbreaking to see Mario Lemieux retire (again) due to his heart ailment.
- akshay626, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1It happened a few days ago. I wouldn't call that old.
- maf54, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1As a Rockets fan, I wish he could have kept playing ball. Enjoy the family.
- mntalkase, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Damn, that sucks. He was a favorite of mine for a while (especially when he played a bit for the Orlando Magic).
- Gr1nch, on 12/13/2008, -0/+133 isn't a spring chicken for a basketball player. This would be a lot worse if it was like dwight howard [23]. The good thing for cuttino was that we were able to watch him play and he was able to develop a fan base. People actually care about him now. Even though he was more like trade fodder whenever a big player was being talked about getting moved, he still performed and was a solid performer. Not stellar by my standards, but solid. Take care cuttino maybe you'll get a seat on tbs or something.
- plangplang, on 12/14/2008, -0/+0It's a sad story, Mobley was great. That said, this shows that the trade to New York was foolish at best. After finding an irregularity in the EKG, the Clippers decided that he was ok? That's bull. He has to be traded to NY to get an MRI? There's something wrong with that. Either the Clippers don't care about their players or they just wanted to get him off their hands. It's really sad for Mobley, but it's also another barrier for NY, who obviously haven't been at their best. I just hope they find a way to fill up the vacancy efficiently, because if they're going to wait for 2010 and Lebron, Knicks fans have a while to wait to see any success. (besides, Lebron's not leaving Cleveland)
- zoka50, on 01/05/2009, -0/+0smart move.

I feel bad for him and I hope he lives a long, happy and prosperous life.
Now having said that: when he and Francis were in Houston they had this amazing foolproof formula for winning games. They'd kick ass and be up by 10 points till the middle of the 4th quarter when the opposing team would make 2 baskets in row. Then the Rockets would panic and play hot potatoeee with the ball... everybody, that is, except for our heroes Francis and Mobley. They would (very predictably) refuse to drive to the basket opting instead for 3 points... except they didn't make any. They would rain missed 3 point shots from the outer reaches of the universe AND... well you know how THAT worked out.
Thankfully I don't live in Houston. - mhelal2, on 12/13/2008, -0/+0As a Jazz fan, I'm really sad that he retired, but it's for his best, he is an out-standing player.
- DaffyDuck123, on 02/14/2009, -0/+0he has ahd a great career, such a shame!

http://highqualitymoviedownloads.info - orkist, on 12/13/2008, -1/+0Clipper players have no heart.
- vagrantwade, on 12/13/2008, -6/+1Not to be off topic...but this is kind of old news.
