Did Elton Brand 'Pull a Boozer?'
basketbawful.blogspot.com — Pull a Boozer (noun) - When a player makes an off-the-record agreement to sign a contract with one team and then subsequently breaks that agreement to sign with another team, usually for more money and/or a better opportunity.

duke- where the only people more ethical than our basketball payers are our lacrosse players. i keed, i keed. - kateyall, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3BD must be pissed. The Clippers suck now.
- slantyeyed, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1What? You mean they DIDN'T suck with Brand? They could have improved with both Baron Davis AND Brand, but that's impossible now.
- BlackGlenn, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5BAM-BOOZER-ED!
- onetimer, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Damn the clippers just can't catch a break. But if they steal Okafor from the 'Cats like it's rumored they will, they'll get no sympathy from anyone in NC (buh bye any chance the bobcats had of making the '09 playoffs!)
- sixsixsixtimer, on 07/10/2008, -1/+1Such treachery will land them in some deep doo doo.
- DevilInPgh, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3ESPN said that Sterling royally pissed off Brand and Falk by offering a much smaller contract and saying "take it or leave it," all the while not caring which way they went. Seeing this is Donald Sterling we're talking about, that sounds about right.
- smacksaw, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1DTS FTL
- slantyeyed, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Boozer got screwed because he could have been around for Lebron's crossover from rookie phenom to NBA superstar . . . and missed a chance to play in the NBA Finals (and maybe help Cleveland put up a better fight). Yeah, he's successful in Utah, but it's 100x hard to get to the Finals the way the West is stacked.
- jankind, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1The Clippers offered him about 40% of what they had available to offer. Then said ownership was unavailable to discuss and he was to take it or leave it.
There was never, at any point, a plan to play with Baron Davis.
The Warriors offered him 90 Million.
The Sixers offer was 82 Million. AFTER the verbal agreement, The Clips came back to match and it was too little too late.
If he was chasing the paycheck he would have gone to Golden State. This was not a Boozer. - TheGooseyOne, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/1705/worthiness ...
- Odenized, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Ha! This is excellent!
