- thethinktank, on 04/17/2008, -8/+3I'll digg, but I tell you-- as a Pistons fan having spent the last 8 years in Chicago, I loathe Johnny "Red" Kerr. Next to Tommy Heinsohn, Red is the most annoying homer announcer in the history of the NBA. He should not be allowed to explain anything to anyone on a microphone. Its not because I'm a Pistons fan, the guy is totally blinded to anyone not wearing a Bulls jersey.

I can't watch a celtics or bulls game without getting annoyed at the comments they make about the other team's players. If a celtic fouls another player hard enough to leave the player down on the ground a while, the other player deserved it. It doesn't even have to be a basketball play. I've heard Heinsohn say if he had the chance he'd like to choke Damon Jones. Its beyond me that two storied franchises such as the Bulls and Celtics would let these men hold the microphone for so long. They've been broadcasting for 20+ years!
I'm a lifelong magic fan, and its not like there's any big rivarly between the Bulls & Magic or Celtics & Magic. These commentators are just awful. - cptshamrock, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6That's what is good about many of the local Chicago broadcasters, they actually are fans of the team. It makes their commentary more entertaining and shows that they actually care about the team. Where as most broadcasting is stale and doesn't have any color.

Kerr was the first coach of the Bulls and has been announcing since before the Bulls started their 2, 3- peats. He's forgotten more about basketball than any of you will ever know.
