no one was even offering 50mil for iggy, so he signs him for 80mil. what a jackass! 100% moronic. they should have sign and traded him to a smaller contract.
this isn't gettn fixed over night. - merc49849, on 12/14/2008, -2/+7Breaking, lol. Nothing is ever breaking on Digg.
- noxcovenant, on 12/14/2008, -0/+5GIVE ME MOOOOO CHEEEEKS!
- inactive, on 12/14/2008, -0/+4Cheeks, Butt Cheeks.
- Slashered, on 12/14/2008, -0/+4Even though they spent a lot of money on Brand and haven't been playing to the caliber they should be, this and several of the other coaching firings are being done too hastily. Teams haven't even played a third of their games and this is the FIFTH coach fired! That's 1/6th of the league and Mike Dunleavy still has a job. The Sixers went 18-30 to begin last season and were able to come back, earn a 6th seed, and almost knock off Detroit. The GM's need more patience.
- SlyT862, on 12/14/2008, -0/+3Regardless of whether or not he was a good coach, he was one of the classiest people that Philadelphia ever saw. I wish him all the best.
- RizzoFrank, on 12/14/2008, -0/+3Back to you MO!!!
- AirBallistic, on 12/14/2008, -0/+3What the DiLeo?
- inactive, on 12/14/2008, -0/+3That's a shame. Maurice Cheeks was a great player and I believe did a good job as coach. At least they're heading in the right direction. Us Knick fans have to wait two more years. :(
- bicyclethief, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2I agree with the great player part.
He was a terrible coach in Portland as well. - roxgod666, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2Now give us back Larry Brown. The one guy who somehow got an average team to the championship. He should be happier now than Iverson isn't there.
- dragonystic, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2bad firing. he was one of the better coaches in the NBA. doesnt seem to matter anymore. if a team struggles, fire the coach.
- roxgod666, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2He wasn't a terrible coach but he definitely can't be declared as good. He doesn't bring anything new to the table. We need a coach who can make some BIG franchise decisions to get this team going.
- p_o_b, on 12/14/2008, -0/+1Sixers give Cheeks the Boot.
- inactive, on 12/14/2008, -1/+2hey guys! its me! Allen Iverson!
- Astark, on 12/14/2008, -0/+1Mo Cheeks is a class act and a basketball legend. If he didn't have the misfortune of arriving here in Portland during the lowest point of the "Jail-Blazers" era, I truly believe he would have led the team to greatness. It's a shame the way this man has been treated both in Portland and in Philly. I know Mo will eventually land with a team that will recognize and can showcase his talents, and that he'll ultimately be as respected for his coaching as he was for his hall of fame career as a player.
- Lbr218, on 12/14/2008, -0/+1sweet Cheeks.

THANKS FOR THE LOVE GUYS!
http://mocheeks.com - alexvalentine, on 12/14/2008, -0/+1Mo Cheeks was a pretty good coach, but the X's and O's were lacking. I hope he finds a new job soon, he is definitely an excellent guy. I hope the Sixers will give Avery Johnson a call. The rumor is that the GM will be going with Eddie Jordan next season. Eddie Jordan is not an upgrade.
- inactive, on 12/14/2008, -1/+2if you lose a game in the NBA, YOU'RE FIRED *****
- Animatus, on 12/14/2008, -0/+1This isn't breaking. Who gives a *****?
- ronaldinho, on 12/14/2008, -1/+1well, it's the economics of things. You want to shake things up but want to do it cheaply? Firing the coach is the easiest way (not that I agree with it). This firing came too early as the team haven't even adjusted to each other. Chemistry is a big component in basketball, more so because there is only 5 guys on the court allowed.
I don't know whether Cheeks was one of the better coaches though. I thought the Sixers should still be running more and then going to Elton Brand only when they have to run their sets. - Guidos7, on 12/14/2008, -0/+0Well Mo needed to get out of bad situation, now he can find a real coaching job whose ownership will get some players.
- zoka50, on 01/06/2009, -0/+0he had very good seson
