- jgopp, on 04/02/2009, -2/+22I like how the lighting is built into the top part of the stadium it makes for a really clean look. And it's probably better for the players as well to have full wrap around lighting.
- n01special, on 04/03/2009, -8/+22Too bad people can't afford to go and check it out in person.
- flowingsphere, on 04/03/2009, -0/+14I'm a Red Sox fan. But I'm definitely not a Yankee hater. This stadium is absolutley gorgeous. I wish the Boston brass would realize that sometimes, old things need to be left in the past. Can we build a new Fenway please?!? With at least 46,000 seats??
- snagglefoof, on 04/03/2009, -21/+29Yankees suck.
- mcphattySS, on 04/03/2009, -3/+10looks like a baseball stadium, neat.
- deltron, on 04/03/2009, -0/+6I wonder where George Costanza's office is located...
- mclewell, on 04/03/2009, -0/+6I think the idea was to give a view as a fan would see it.
- ancalagon73, on 04/03/2009, -1/+7A Met fan talking about the Yanks choking? That's like a bald man making fun of someones hair. Were you asleep for the last two years?
- lcaller, on 04/03/2009, -3/+8Strange place to do this, surely a better view would have been from the pitchers mound.
- aschwartz, on 04/03/2009, -1/+6from boston, ehh???
- RealmDown, on 04/03/2009, -0/+5Who said I was talking about players ? ;-)
- mtnlion2, on 04/03/2009, -5/+10The worst thing about this stadium is that it will be full of Yankees fans
- PunkFenixJT, on 04/03/2009, -1/+6You can't afford the $5 specials, $14 Bleacher seats, or $23-30 grandstand seats?
Man, must suck to be you! - PunkFenixJT, on 04/03/2009, -0/+5I sure hope this comment was meant to be sarcastic....
- The_Wallbanger, on 04/03/2009, -4/+9Build a new stadium with less seating so they can jack ticket prices and sell private suites? No thanks.
- ShiftyBizniss, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4It's a actually a 129,600° view.
Think about it. - haydesigner, on 04/03/2009, -5/+9Mets? Nope, not interested.
- hotjava23, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4I live in the Bronx and I've never been to a Yankees game. Definitely a must do for me.
- npcabral, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4I would have to second that sentiment. Who would want to see the mets....?
- Evols, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4The really nice thing I noticed from the view from the stands - you can see every corner of the field so you won't miss a play. In the older Yankee Stadium, depending on your seat you wouldn't be able to see balls hit down the right/left field line depending on your seats. For someone who always sits in the upper deck, this is the best thing they could have done.
- aschwartz, on 04/03/2009, -1/+5Well, I live in Jersey, and have been a Yankee fan all my 35 years.
The mets are not good. They choked in each of the past two seasons. at the freakin very end no less. - MrZaiko, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4The seats are just ridiculous! they were not made for humans.
These seats may be good for the people in the 1920's. You cant survive nine Inning sitting there, trust me.
it makes you wanna get up and buy a $20 hot dog....
wait... maybe thats their plan - diggstown, on 04/03/2009, -1/+5Doesn't look right without the facade above the outfield.
- mountchuck, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4The Yankees open up at the Orioles, not at Yankee Stadium.
- mrjah, on 04/03/2009, -1/+5Yankees went to the Series in 2003. They lost, but they went.
Hard to understand why someone would call the Yankees the best _team_ in baseball when by any objective measure they clearly are not currently the best team in baseball. I suspect the logic has something to do with the number 26, which of course means far more for the historical franchise than for the current team. - Chewie67, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4Yes, and it doesn't work.
Digg Toolbar FAIL! - Phillydroog, on 04/03/2009, -1/+5And the only people that like either of the teams are from New York. What's your point other than that New York still sucks.
- jpbreeder, on 04/03/2009, -2/+5"This stadium, in actuality, was built for a moneyed class that in many respects does not even exist in this city any longer." A stadium paid for by taxpayers that taxpayers can't afford ... For the average middle income New Yorker this place has all the charm of Bernie Madoff!
- RealmDown, on 04/03/2009, -9/+12Nice looking stadium. Pity it will be half full of Yankees every game. :)
- haydesigner, on 04/03/2009, -3/+6You enjoy publicly showing your complete lack of baseball acumen?
- Anubis2051, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3Hey, at least its only 2000 seats. the mets dropped over 15000!
- STEVEZ33, on 04/04/2009, -0/+3 It looks great, hard to believe though with all that money spent that they actually have obstructed views from seats.
- npcabral, on 04/03/2009, -1/+4Saying most NYers like mets over the Yankees is absolutely wrong and can be proven with numbers. Surveys have been done every year. The only people in NY/NYC that like the Mets are people who recently moved to NY from out of state (or first gen NYers, they sometimes like the teams their parents liked), Long Islanders, and Dominicans. This is fact. Not hating on Dominicans or anything, but go to a game. Sit in the bleachers. Most of the people there are Dominican.
Its funny seeing a non NYer come into the city and try to become a NYer. The problem is you country folk just cant shed that bumpkin image completely. So they, as an outsider of this magnificent city, flock to the mets. - xOrangeGoblinx, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3Stadium is on steroids, YO!
- flowingsphere, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3Oh the best part? Tickets to a Sox/Yankees game sitting anywhere a few rows behind the Sox dugout. Retail price on a ticket is 2,625$. RETAIL.
- Chunken, on 04/03/2009, -1/+3Not as cool as the old Yankee Stadium
- spawn7008, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2not true at all i got to see the stadium for free yesterday and got a free hot dog and soda. saw all the players warm up and take BP.
- mrjah, on 04/03/2009, -2/+4Good point -- the Yankees will probably lose to the Cubs. Get it right, reeds!
;-) - inactive, on 04/03/2009, -3/+5Title should say "Inside the death star."
- djdigital, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2Looks like the NY Times figured out how to bypass the Digg Toolbar and use their own.
- jkeledgewood, on 04/03/2009, -1/+3I work for a folding door company and we have folding walls in the new stadium. Here is a link as to what the panels look like in one of the rooms. We do wood panel faces all the time, but none like this. See link:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/0oyaaQ9b0f9lS ... - Jektal, on 04/03/2009, -1/+3Did Norm Abram build it in his garage?
- npcabral, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2hehehe.
- TheTommodore, on 04/03/2009, -4/+6If you're interested there's also a panoramic of Citi Field, too.
- mtrem225, on 04/03/2009, -1/+2Looks like the old one to me.
- spawn7008, on 04/03/2009, -1/+2this doesn't even make sense. they play the Indians on the home opener so how could they be avoiding the Red Sox.
- rotarychainsaw, on 04/03/2009, -3/+4Looks the same as the old one.
- npcabral, on 04/03/2009, -1/+2So true. Ever try buying a ticket off the site? Unpossible! Bleacher tickets go for $200+ whenever a halfway decent team is in town. Damn scalpers. Best thing to do is get to the staidum and hope they have some left in the ticket office.
- RoanokeRich, on 04/03/2009, -14/+15cool stadium - uncool team
