Sabathia signed a 160 million dollar deal. To put that in perspective, Miller Park cost $250 million to build. One pitcher costs over half of an entire modern stadium. To me, this is stripping the game of a lot of its glory.

But then, even before seeing the picture, Hampton was the first contract that came to mind so maybe not much of a surprise after all. I wish they would have used a picture of him in a Rockies uniform, the Braves may have gotten ripped off too, but the Rockies and Marlins wound up paying a hefty chunk of Mike's salary while he was under the knife in Atlanta.
