I'm surprised that they have the Astro's are ranked so high at 16... That's my team, and don't get me wrong, I love them... but they should not be ranked anywhere near a 16... more like a 26.

The Red Sox won't be a number 1 ranked team until May sometime. The trip to Japan and with Beckett and Schilling being out it's going to be a tough April for them.

The Mets were pretty "powerful" last year, so it must be only a matter of time until someone will trips over the plug this season.

This list is terrible. The #1 team's blurb describes all the ways they can fail and he says they will win the NL East because they start the season against the Marlins....wtf?

This is the type of year where a team comes out of nowhere and wins (see Marlins 1997, 2003) since teams like the Tigers and Mets are trying to act like the Yanks and Sox and spend a ton of money.

How are the Yankees above the Tigers? They're putting the exact same product on the field as last year except that they are spending more money and lost Torre, they've done nothing to address their needs. Detroit bolstered their lineup with blockbuster trades and adding all-stars, and they have the most intimidating and most powerful offense in the whole MLB...

Buried for some fan's value judgement on teams for the preseason. NYM #1 because they got Johan Santana and Ryan Church as an outfielding upgrade. Get the ***** outta here. The Mets struggled against the Phillies and lost. Buried and not reading the rest of the cliffs notes for the casual baseball fan material.

I'll accept the Sox aren't #1 material right now with Beckett and Schilling sidelined, but Schilling hasn't been producing as well as he had in the past lately anyway. Placing the Mets first and the Rockies out of the top 10 makes this list crap though.

Ugly list. The Rockies should not be so low. The Mets should not be #1. Even as a baseball novice, I could make a case for any of other top 5 teams to be ranked above the Mets.

Even without a ton of power, the Tigers have the best hitting lineup in the league. There are too many questions at pitcher but if Kenny Rogers can pull his weight and Zumaya comes back healthy, I'm going to be betting on them in the playoffs.

At least the Nats are ranked above the O's. Gives it some credibility I suppose.

It’s not even a contest. The Red Sox have the best pitching in MLB, above average fielding and hitting. The real weakness I can see is SS and *maybe* CF, if Elsberry is a bust.

Barring any major injuries, they’ll be celebrating in October again.

OK, I'm happy the cubs are #5 but that last quote (This should afford them plenty of time to shore up that shaky bullpen anchored by Kerry Wood.) almost made me ***** my pants. Kerry Woods should only be considered an anchor when used as a metaphor for dragging the cubs down to the bottom of lake Michigan.

23rd for the Rays! Fingers crossed for our first ever winning season.

The Cubs have made many trades and are continually changing their line up. Spring training has given some hope, except for Wood's brief back injury, which as of the last game seems to have gotten better. Wood's got the closer position locked down.

Yankees at #3 is laughable. Waaaaay too many NL teams in the top 10. The NL is like AAA compared to the AL save 1 or 2 teams.

This is pretty much a useless list, mostly based on personal favoritism. You can tell by how some write-ups are extensive, while others are very vague.

Whatever the list maker was smoking when he made this list, pass it on over.

The Mets are overrated. They're just like some other New York teams: overpaying for talented players on the downside of their career.

cubs- 100 years without a WS win. come on magic......work your.....magic....

I think you'll find that AZ offense has kicked it up a notch. The problem is, and we've already seen it this spring, that without a true closer they are going to find it tough to clinch close games.

Going to be a long year for Giants fans, unless you're REALLY into pitching. The rest of us will just have to kick back with the best food in any MLB stadium and wait for next year.

I think the Red Sox are going to have another good year. If Colon can somehow stay healthy and return to his 2003 form, he could end up being the best bargain the Sox got in the offseason. Even without him, this rotation will be nasty (more so once Beckett returns to the rotation). They've got the best 3-4 hitting tandem in the American league, some speed on the basepaths (Ellsbury, Lugo, Crisp), and a lights-out closer. I smell a dynasty, but we Sox fans will try to be classier about it than the ***** Patriots fans.

And BTW, this list is crap.
