- tdp301, on 09/22/2008, -0/+11I like how people used to get all dressed up to go to a baseball game
- Carramrod72, on 09/22/2008, -1/+8Like the Yankees or not, Yankee Stadium was legendary. Take a second from being a downer (it's sports, not politics) and take a look at some photos of the place.
- serif69, on 09/22/2008, -0/+4They weren't dressed up, that's just how they dressed.
- AmyVernon, on 09/22/2008, -3/+7There was definitely a lot of history in that stadium. But my favorite was on SNL this weekend when a fake Martin Scorcese and Rosie Perez yammered on about their Yankees Stadium memories.
- techwrekfix, on 09/22/2008, -1/+4I'm a Red Sox fan but I couldn't agree more. I'm just glad I got to see one game there before the end.
- wrathoftheafe, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3I hate the yankees as much as the next fan of one of the other 29 teams, but it was hard not to get chills walking into yankee stadium for the first time. baseball won't be the same.
- mcfara, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2Parking lot = more sense than museum
- masterkenobi, on 09/22/2008, -2/+4Bin Laden flew two planes into downtown Manhattan, destroyed the World Trade Center, killed thousands of innocent people, and you're suggesting that having him send a bomb to Yankee stadium is a joke?
No sir. YOU are the *****. - masterkenobi, on 09/22/2008, -2/+4You really should put your whole Yankees hatred aside and recognize the history of this wonderful stadium. All of the greats that passed through that field, records made, not to mention famous musicians like Billy Joel, U2, and Pink Floyd that performed there.
No? Well ***** you and whatever team you love. - rayraym0fucka, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2New York IS a tourist attraction ;p
- Brandoskey, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1not many old ball fields left now, Fenway and of course my personal favorite Wrigley Field are the only two that come to mind.
- AllenFresno, on 09/23/2008, -0/+1The good ole' black & white stuffs..
- dcmcderm, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Lest we forget.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -1/+1money money money... did I say money?
- Orsigno, on 09/22/2008, -0/+0No kidding man. So much history in that field. Mickey, Babe, Lou... damn the list is forever.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -1/+1it is scary what has happened to digg.
But 78 diggs and front page may tell us that "not as many active users" so the algo was adjusted?
Just a thought... - Jeffriff, on 09/22/2008, -1/+1I hope the new stadium curses them for 100 years.
- tcquad, on 09/22/2008, -1/+1They appear to stop coverage of Yankee Stadium with the 2003 ALCS.
I seem to remember some historic stuff happening the following year in the 2004 ALCS. - masterkenobi, on 09/22/2008, -3/+3Sorry, you went a little bit too far on that one. Buried, reported, blocked.
- skimikaze, on 09/22/2008, -5/+4I will never understand why they wouldn't rebuild it in sections and maintain the field. How could they tear down the house that Babe built? Probably done by the same people who fired their multi championship winning manager, then failed to make it to the playoffs. WTG. BTW I hate the Yankees.
- rootsm3, on 09/22/2008, -4/+2This is really heartbreaking.
- woodyinthehoody, on 09/22/2008, -5/+2They should turn Yankee Stadium into a museum. God knows NY needs more tourist attractions.
- nobleexperiment, on 09/22/2008, -4/+1So. Are they going to turn that old stadium to a new Yankees Network Complex for the YES Network? It would make sense if they tore it down to make TV studios of their own network next to the new stadium.
- fuckingusername, on 09/22/2008, -4/+178 diggs front page
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -6/+1Reported for what? A joke? Nice one *****, in case you didn't know, nobody gives a ***** about the report button
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -6/+1So much for blocking me you whiney little *****, here's another one to calm you down:
Q: What's Al Qaida's favorite football team?
A: The New York Jets - inactive, on 09/22/2008, -14/+9***** the Yankees
- Megadeth222, on 09/22/2008, -6/+0who the f*ck are the yankees?
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -8/+1I still think Bin Laden should have sent one to Yankee Stadium
