- mrlivingston, on 03/26/2008, -3/+27I'm no A-Rod fan, but Canseco is A-Douche.
- hammburglar, on 03/26/2008, -4/+24he kinda seems like the crazy girl that lies about being pregnant for attention
- onionlayer, on 03/26/2008, -1/+15Is that some fail I see?
- onionlayer, on 03/26/2008, -0/+12It's pretty sad that Canseco has been the biggest whistle blower of the steroids era.
- anarchyinthekr, on 03/26/2008, -0/+12i hate a-rod as much as anyone but i hope this isn't true
- fribhey, on 03/26/2008, -0/+11i've never heard of someone making up that they were pregnant for attention, but i've heard of girls making up stories about being raped to get attention.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -6/+15I'll take Canseco's word for it. He's an *****, but an honest *****.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -1/+9If you've watched A-Rod from his early Mariner days you know that the kid has always had a natural talent. He has what Griffey had when he was in his prime. Pure skill.
Sure he may have known a dealer. Every team had a few guys on the juice in the 90's. - bxblox, on 03/26/2008, -0/+8I actually knew a girl who told a guy she was pregnant so he would stay with her and since she wasnt actually pregnant started sloring around trying to get pregnant. He found out.
- TomK88, on 03/26/2008, -3/+11Definitely needs more evidence before I buy this story...
- wooFmeoWoinK, on 03/26/2008, -3/+9a-roid.
- nambito, on 03/26/2008, -1/+7so what? barry bonds had pure skill and hall of fame credentials before he started juicing.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -0/+5No. Retired "for many years"? No, not at all. A-Rod broke in in 1994. Canseco retired in 2001.
They played in the same division for several years, therefore crossing paths often, and in the same league for all of those years. - hammburglar, on 03/26/2008, -0/+5i was gonna put that but figured someone would flip about how its a traumatic event and shouldnt be used to make a joke. so i passed. but ive certainly heard of it many times.
- sleeknerve, on 03/26/2008, -5/+10although i feel Canseco is the guy thats always trying to be in the news, always wants attention, i mean, he was in the Surreal Life, but he was right about some of the guys in his last book, specifically Rafael Palimero, who no one, would have ever thought he took steriods, so who knows, maybe hes right about A-Rod
- Ajajadude, on 03/26/2008, -0/+5Yeah, I have a hard time believing this one. I don't know why, but A-Rod doesn't seem the type to do stuff like steroids. He's too much of a Boy Scout and seems like the kind of guy who has to to keep his nose clean because he doesn't want to upset people if he gets caught doing bad things.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -0/+5That's just ***** up. I hope that everyone in town knows how much of a lying whore those girls are.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -1/+6Some? He was right about 100% of the people he mentioned.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -2/+6At this point I'd rather just move forward. But since A-Rod and Canseco played so many years in the same league/division together (eight years, '94-'01) and since Canseco has been pretty much right about the rest, it's hard to doubt this.
- MyDiggIsBig, on 03/26/2008, -1/+4the whole era is tainted. That is why we can't blame just one person. That is why it is sad that one man, Barry Bonds, is taking most of all the heat. Even without steroids he would have broken Mays' record, possibly Ruth's. Either way, he is a first ballot hall of fame player, as is Arod. Sure they used steroids, and should be fined up the wazoo, but it doesn't take away the fact that they played in an era where everyone was better and that they were the best. and i hate arod with a passion, but i know he is a good player.
- TheR3dMenace, on 03/26/2008, -3/+6What has he lied about so far? He's the guy who broke the steroid thing wide open
- pinstripemoose, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3I've been introduced to a Coca Cola supplier before, but I only drink Pepsi.
- burntsac, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3my question is why didn't Canseco out A-Rod and Clemens years ago when he outed Palmeiro, etc.? did he think he could just sit on this info for a couple years to come out with another book?
- flipcritic, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3Uh... money? He's obviously not doing this for the noblest of reasons, otherwise he would have given a news conference straight up.
- hammburglar, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2he wasnt in the mitchell report....but what about jason giambi. that guy is juicin like crazy.
- flipcritic, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2Yeah who cares about their health!
- nambito, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2yeah he's been proven to be right in the past, so unless he has some personal beef with a-rod (which if the whole trying to sleep with his wife thing is true ,he might) then there is no reason not to believe him. how shocking would it actually be? as shocking as say, roger clemens appearing in the mitchell report? or andy pettite? after mo vaughn was named nothing can shock me.
- kansai22, on 03/26/2008, -1/+3I love all this coming back to bite everyone that crucified Bonds. Now that we see they all did it doesn't it equal out.
- bamafun, on 03/29/2008, -0/+2next thing you know he will be claiming he is anna nicoles baby's father
- Sokkratez, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2It happened in Dirty Sexy Money.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -1/+3Yes...and despite not reading the second book at all, you have come up with this conclusion.
Hmmm...let me guess. You are a Yankee fan.
If only he hadn't re-signed with them in the fall. You would be BLASTING him now. - inactive, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2More proof that everything I said about you is accurate.
I mean, seriously...you are TWENTY. Do you really want to spend the next 60 years of your life desperately alone? - burntsac, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2i dunno, bouncing that home run ball off his head was pretty good.
- Anubis2051, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2hey budy, only two players on the report we accused of using steroids while with the yankees, they did play for the yanks at some point, but with the exception of andy and roger, no other player was accused of using steroids during their time with the yanks.
- Anubis2051, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2he was in the report, and hes admitted to use, but only with the A's, not the yankees.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2Yeah...just like last time when he made up that whole story about Palmeiro, and Clemens, and Bonds just to get attention.
It is unfathomable that you could actually make that comment after the Mitchell Report proved that Canseco was NOT just saying the ***** he says to get attention. - NonLeftistDiggr, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1still would need a peg rule for me to watch
- burntsac, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1that's what i was thinking. perhaps a-rod or clemens were paying him 'hush money?'
fortunately Congress is effectively putting our taxpayer dollars at work and looking into this matter!
/sarcasm - vitas33, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1True or not I'm done with baseball. They're as bad as politicians, everyone is crooked.
- ileftfark, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Like losing mass in the scrotal region...
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Baseball is our greatest game.... is it even a game?.... because I can have chewing tobacco standing competitions by myself without going to the game, save 40 bucks, and watch something decent on my TV at home instead.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2WHAT? Do you honestly think that Bonds is going to get in the Hall of Fame on the first ballot? if so, you should NEVER talk about baseball ever again. Because you just made a fool of yourself. Chances are, he will NEVER get in.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2That is what people were saying years ago when he said hte same thing about Clemens, and Palmerio, and Bonds, etc.
- inactive, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1OK...consider yourself corrected.
If you don't follow baseball, then maybe this is not the thread for you to try to inject your expertise in. Feel free to not tlak about things if you have absolutely NO knowledge on it. There is no rule that says you musty comment in every thread. - RadiatedAnt, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Conseco is smart, sleeping with his wife? introduce him to steroids and let the manhood shrinkage begin!
- orca94, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1You do realize you could just watch Baseball on TV at home if money is really that much of an issue for you, right? And Baseball tickets really aren't all that expensive, you can buy tickets for under 10 bucks at a lot of stadiums.
Also, baseball kicks ass, so ***** you. - Anubis2051, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1two words. Jason Giambi. he was the first player to outright admit to doing steroids, and help the mlb try and put a lid on the situation. looks like your the fool
- hammburglar, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1but a-rod didnt double in size since he came into the league.
- Crazyloc, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1everyone is doing it, the American public doesn't care I mean all they want is 3 hrs + (american league game time) of entertainment and if baseball can still turn a profit then thats all that matters, its not like everyone going to shun the Yankees because "Arod" did steriods or so this article claims,
- razorsharpwit, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Who hasn't tried to have sex with her?
