As well, someone who will be able to produce more income through marketing to cover tax burden. Or, someone who will be able to develop and execute an attractive alternative to the league (and the government) that would prove to be a satisfactory solution to the tax issue. We have an office change coming up in the White House and the new President may in fact be an Illinois boy; perhaps something can be worked out.

    First Harry Caray died, then the chicago tribune died. I don't know which hurt me the most. Now Sam Zell owns the tribune company... and they act like things are changing for different reasons than they are. Goobye cubbies and wrigley. Goodbye day games right when school lets out. It all happened before we knew you were gone.

I would imagine the new president (from whichever party) will have other things to be concerned with other than the Chicago Cubs....please.
  • bcarl314, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1True, but Wrigley has one of the lowest seating capacities in all of MLB. And although they are totally rocking the NL right now, they've made the playoffs several times in the past decade only to choke.

The Wrigley's and the Tribune company haven't exactly been the best owners, but with Lou Pinella they will at least make it to the NLCS, probably win that, and then they will likely get beat by LA, but you never know, since it is the World Series.

He is smart and would know not to move them from Wrigley. He would also be willing to invest the kind of money the Cubs need to keep the momentum that they have this year. So that after winning that World Series, 100 years after their last, they can keep it up and contend every year after that until I die. GO CUBS GO!!!
