All-Star Voter Fraud
mentalfloss.com — When Major League Baseball announced its All-Star rosters last week, there was the usual brief outburst of indignation about how certain players got left off of the Midsummer Classic squads. As usual, these fierce, ultimately trivial debates lasted for around 36 hours.

- blackinthmiddle, on 07/10/2008, -1/+2So a guy that's 6'0" tall and 190 lbs is on 'Roids? I remember that cover well. That was his stats then.
You know, you *can* get a decent body without 'roids. I'm 6'0" and at my heaviest I was 225 lbs, could bench 295 lbs and squat 365 lbs. Granted, not awe-inspiring numbers, but better probably than what 90% of the men in the world can do. Hard work and good nutrition can get you an impressive (drug-free) body.
I guess this is the backlash to the steroid era. 50 home run season? 'Roids. Strike out 300 batters? 'Roids. In shape? Gotta be the 'roids!!!- roosterx, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0As a gym guy myself, I can completely confirm this.
If I see a fat person in McDonalds scarfing down a trayfull of Big Macs, I'm going to be a judgemental arsehole.
If I see a fat person on a treadmill at the gym, actually working up a sweat, I'm thinking "Good on ya, mate".

- scheibs14, on 07/10/2008, -1/+8Congrats to Longoria for making the final All-Star vote! Great to see small club players on the All-Star team
- totorototoro, on 07/10/2008, -2/+7That Desperate Housewives chick is everywhere these days.
- Julik, on 07/10/2008, -3/+1Every team has to have at least 1 representative in the game.. so every small club gets at least a player in.
That being said Longoria is having a hell of a year and should be the starter.l- scheibs14, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3Their catcher Navarro was already selected to the team, this was strictly by the fans
- spookycheddar, on 07/10/2008, -3/+2Jermaine Dye got jobbed, he had way better stats.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wMzSbFQ5x4 - rft3rd, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4It's a popularity contest. NOT a performance contest. The starters are picked on who get the most votes. If our president was picked by popularity.. um wait a minute....yeah!
- ramenite, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Fraud? From a vote who's motto was "Vote Early, Vote Often"

- Gimli, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1I don't care about the All-Star Game anyways for it usually just a bunch of Yankee/Red Sox players on steroids swinging a bat and their Neanderthal Fans rooting for them. I'll know I get dug down, but I don't care...Go Tigers (Please Take Gary Sheffield back New York)!!!!
