Here in the U.S. (at least here in Chicago) you rarely ever hear anything about winter tires. Maybe you do in the Rocky Mountains, but they would be useful here, too.
Instead most people complain about driving conditions when they see the first snow flake. Many even slide off the road into a ditch, just because they have summer times or the not much better all-year tires on the car. Winter tires could probably save a few lives, but somehow Chicagoans (or Americans?) didn't get the message, yet.
Get a set of Winter Tires!
Yes, they are expensive, but you can reuse them for a few winters. They may save your live, but at least make driving on snow a lot easier - even the non-studded ones. - SisterSabbay, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Umm ! Your tires are in control of the car lol. Always remember that, your tires are like your car sole and I would hate to glide on a long sheet of black ice with a lead foot on the gas pedal.
