- tylanga, on 09/22/2008, -8/+97PT Cruiser??
http://flickr.com/photos/97267691@N00/2485372902/ - metapop, on 09/22/2008, -0/+74this is sort of ridiculous. i actually like the boxy, utilitarian look some of these cars have (the mercedes benz & the the VW thing). if i made my list of ugliest cars ever it would include cars which are bland and boring, designed to not offend anyone. the car industry needs to take more design risks if they want people to buy their vehicles, not less.
- larryjr88, on 09/22/2008, -14/+81No Honda Element? That's the dumbest looking box in existence.
- sillygato, on 09/22/2008, -0/+53I was surprised to see that the Aztec was in production for 4 years. That thing was hideous.

- drstock, on 09/22/2008, -0/+38How could they forget Fiat Multipla?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Multipla - 1nhuman, on 09/22/2008, -1/+32Crap list. Buried.
- zyklon, on 09/22/2008, -1/+29The Pacer? ***** that! I loved that thing. Wayne's World made the car awesome.
- LatvianHedgehog, on 09/22/2008, -16/+43Actually I see nothing wrong about Ford's Mustang II design.
- HarryRag, on 09/22/2008, -1/+26The only ugly car in this list is the Pontiac Aztek. I wouldn't mind driving the other cars at all. This list sucks!
- albinorhino101, on 09/22/2008, -5/+29The Mercedes G class is awesome why is it on this list?
- derekivey, on 09/22/2008, -9/+31No. The Scions are worse.
- alobos, on 09/22/2008, -0/+20I would scratch off the Merc and the Thing. The thing is just as pretty or horrible as the Jeep Willys, as it was used for the same purpose. I actually like the Kübelwagen (the Thing's real name) more because it has kind of childish and naive expression. The story is very appealing. Back in Wolfsburg they were cleaning up the basement of one of the production facilities when they discovered the KW press molds that were protected from the allies' bombings in 1944. The VW plant in Puebla, Mexico heard of it and asked Wolsburg to send them because some imbecile law in Mexico prohibited car makers to sell their percentage of models by .2, that is, VW had 20% market share, there for they could do 4 models. They seized the oportunity of the beetle by doing another different looking car that by law was the same as the beetle. They started producing the "Safari" as it was called in Mexico with great success in the coastal cities. Maybe then was when the US market received it as well as europe. The problem was that the steel plates underneath were too heavy for the 46bhp engine and it was very hard to even try to drive at high speeds. It also started corroding because then nobody used anodization (stainless steel) techniques. Anyway, it's still a very fun classic car to have. It's unmistakenly a Volkswagen (even more than the Kleinbus) truly brought from when Professor Ferdinand Porsche was designing cars.
- BugsSport, on 09/22/2008, -1/+21I hate Mondays
- Rubiksphere, on 09/22/2008, -0/+14The Pontiac Aztec: So ugly Rosie O'Donnell bought one.
- scabbers, on 09/22/2008, -1/+15The 2CV ain't pretty, but it definitely had some charm and character.
- RawMeat3000, on 09/22/2008, -0/+12This list is *****. Half of those cars I actually liked.
- InvisibleInk, on 09/22/2008, -7/+19I see nothing right about your comment.
- nitesoIja, on 09/22/2008, -4/+15why is the mustang and benz there? there are MUCH uglier cars..um like yaris, prius, fit and all those fuel efficient *****
- hsoj, on 09/22/2008, -1/+12I love my ugly Honda Element. The inside is awesome, at least.
- jcaino, on 09/22/2008, -1/+11yea, thing isn't ugly - they did call it the thing for a reason.
also, the mercedes g-class does not belong here - its simply bad ass. why would they put the h2 here instead?
the aztek (and i am a GM man) certainly does belong here.
and you're bringing a ford to the party but not the edsel?
fail. - Gemfinder, on 09/22/2008, -0/+10Yeah, The Thing was ugly, but god damn did they LAST. And last. And last. And...
I never saw a Thing dead by the roadside, nor did I ever hear about one dying. I think the only things that outlived The Thing are Land Rovers and Unimogs. - branndon, on 09/22/2008, -3/+13Come on, where's the Scion.... That toaster looking thing.... UGLY
- iamabootdisk, on 09/22/2008, -1/+10totally agree with you. it's an offroad powerhouse. built like a tank, and looks like one too.
and boy, tanks are awesome. - DavidGuetta9, on 09/22/2008, -0/+8It's an icon car, at least in Europe.
- ChayD, on 09/22/2008, -1/+9In defence of the 2CV, though; with their mechanical simplicity, they'll outlast anything.
- DMCer, on 09/22/2008, -3/+11No. The Prius is worse. Must all "green" cars be ugly?
- FourPtRoll, on 09/22/2008, -2/+10Did everyone forget the huge Ford mistake called the Edsel?? It was taken off the market it was so ugly.
- sjps220, on 09/23/2008, -0/+7I think you forgot to click the link
- Ultra99, on 09/22/2008, -5/+11I dugg you up so more people would be able to enjoy mocking your unfortunate sense of aesthetics.
- jvincent08, on 09/22/2008, -2/+8I agree with Latvian. Sure it was slow and weak, but it was by no means ugly (maybe not sexy, but not ugly either).
- ChayD, on 09/22/2008, -0/+6Ewwww...it looks like a butt on wheels.
- sjps220, on 09/22/2008, -1/+7Gotta agree with you there. I also checked your link to make sure it was one of the ones with the fake wood paneling.

- nads, on 09/22/2008, -0/+6My first choice for ugliest car ever too. For some reason it reminds of the "take my strong hand" moment in Scary Movie. (Yeah some one watched it).
- ChronicColonic, on 09/22/2008, -0/+5http://www.break.com/index/432976-i-f-h-mondays.ht ...
- doctechnical, on 09/22/2008, -0/+5My contact in Detroit tells me there's a sub-culture of outdoorsy folks who consider the Aztec a neat car.
Still as ugly as sin, though. - SPRFRKR, on 09/23/2008, -0/+5Patrial to the Canyonero myself.
- pixelguru, on 09/23/2008, -0/+5I was driven to kindergarten in a Citroën 2DS, or "Deux Chevaux" (that's "two horses" to those of you who's father wasn't transferred to France for 3 years when you were a kid). The car I rode in belonged to a neighbor, and it wasn't nearly as bright and shiny as this photo - it was a brownish-grey with a few spots of several different paint colors and rust everywhere. There was a scary large hole in the rear foot-well you could see the road through, and I wonder now if it was utilized for auxiliary Flintstone-style hill-climbing power or brakes. The two-cylinder motor made a sound like no other - each easily discernible stroke of the piston sent rattles and reverberations through the sheet metal body like hail falling on a tin-roof shack. As ugly, underpowered and unmaintained as it was though, it still did the job of (slowly) getting me home from St. Genis Laval every day while consuming less gas than the average weed-whacker. If things keep going the way they are, we may all find ourselves riding in such modest basic transportation in the future, and how it looks may be the least of our worries.
- TBombadil, on 09/22/2008, -0/+5the 'VW Thing' certainly isn't sleek, but its so different that I like it. Id love to have one
this isn't a very good list, their are uglier cars..... this list just bashes different looking cars. - dunderballer, on 09/22/2008, -1/+6The Thing and the 2CV are awesome. The C-Class would be cool if it wasn't absurdly overpriced.
- ChayD, on 09/22/2008, -0/+4I agree, having a grille shaped like a vagina didn't help.
- xxMaxaroni, on 09/22/2008, -0/+4I'm gonna have to disagree with a lot of the cars on that list. For example, the VW Thing is really kinda funky and out of the ordinary, but cool at the same time.
Also http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=ug ... - TheBigBad, on 09/23/2008, -0/+4My best friend in high school had a Pacer. Damn was that thing ugly but we had alot of good times in that beast.
- rowlodge, on 09/22/2008, -1/+5the Citroen has a unique suspension, its an innovative type of vehicle used in formula 1 cars today, not ugly. somebody didn't do their homework there.
- wrestlingnrj, on 09/23/2008, -0/+4I totally agree, but my neighbors don't, since they own three.
*Edit, they just sold one a week ago for a SMART Car, so no upgrade in looks there. - flaznog, on 09/22/2008, -0/+4A Yugo car has the dubious distinction of being the only car be blown off the Mackinac Bridge...

But Citron 2CV is a fine car, - Gemfinder, on 09/22/2008, -0/+4'Cause they were great cars. You could shoot 'em and they'd keep going.
