GM seeks $10 billion from Goverment to merger with Chrysler

news.yahoo.com — General Motors Corp (GM.N) has asked the U.S. government for roughly $10 billion in an unprecedented rescue package to support its acquisition of Chrysler LLC from Cerberus Capital Management (CBS.UL), sources familiar with the talks said.

  • LiQuiD83, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1*****'em... they did not want to back the electric car over ten years ago when they really could have avoided their current financial turmoil and been at the forefront today, and now they ask the American people to pay ANOTHER $10 Billion to help them build environmentally-safe vehicles? Sorry GM, you had your chance but made the decision to gouge your consumers for years. There is NO sympathy here... I say make them pay for their idiotic decision-making and allow them to fail and go bankrupt.
