- joelbranstein, on 01/17/2009, -2/+20Tired of concept vehicles. Get some of these on the road NOW - such a bunch of crap that we don't have 50mpg turbo diesel cars in the US right now.
- Klak, on 01/17/2009, -2/+10pics AND video?!?! witchcraft i say!
- skjalff, on 01/17/2009, -1/+8wholly unimpressive
- weikerx, on 01/17/2009, -1/+8am not shaken.
- Tenareth, on 01/17/2009, -2/+7None of these were from the Big 3...
- Atacand, on 01/17/2009, -1/+6yawn....wake me when they're real
- noen, on 01/18/2009, -0/+4Concept Car = Fantasy
Production Car = Reality - ColinApocalypse, on 01/17/2009, -1/+5American automakers introduced several new hybrids set to be released in 2010.
This article shows cool concept cars, whereas the big 3 are actually buckling down now and coming out with some practical vehicles. - geico, on 01/17/2009, -3/+7Concept Car - Awesome
Production Car - Total let down - joegibes, on 01/17/2009, -2/+5"just as soon as they figure out how it could be physically possible to make it."
I believe that IS the stage that the Volt is in now -- although I'm referring to the manufacturing of the entire automobile itself, rather than developing the technology. GM has volt mules on the road NOW... Ignorant naysayers like you aren't helping progress at all. - noen, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3and chilled
- JanusTheDoorman, on 01/17/2009, -2/+5Arguing that Detroit's alive and kicking by showing off 4 European Cars (Albiet one owned by Ford), and one car from a California start up doesn't seem like a great plan.
- dalnet22, on 01/18/2009, -1/+4Am I the only one who thinks aerodynamic, futuristic looking cars are ugly?
- solidsnake1298, on 01/17/2009, -2/+5The VW Jetta TDI is 40mpg highway and 30mpg city. Not quite 50mpg, but were getting there.
- jbmcb, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2> Get some of these on the road NOW
If you're willing to sign a waiver stating you won't hold the car companies liable for any problems you will encounter from a completely untested vehicle, I'm sure they'd love to sell you one.
Note that these problems may include, but are not limited to, parts falling off, the engine failing, catching fire, the transmission seizing, brakes not working, and the loss of functionality of any or all accessories.
Building something that's going to take abuse in any type of environment and is not expected to fail in any way for over five years is going to take more than a few months of testing. - inactive, on 01/17/2009, -1/+3but stirred
- TimeIsTissue, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1what an ugly ***** website! jesus christ my eyes
- trev0006, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1I love the Fiscer, I how they make an all gas version with 500 horsepower. Aston Martin will be in trouble if that happens. http://www.dpccars.com/
- guyver48, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1It's really pathetic when the North American International Auto Show has no cars from North America in the show.
- Nouman6, on 01/17/2009, -2/+3I've never wanted a VW....except now.
- Ergodigitality, on 01/17/2009, -2/+3Only $100,000 starting for the Karma. I'll be sure to pick one of those up on my way to the grocery store.
- AlienMushroom, on 01/18/2009, -3/+4Shockingly ugly.
- panda88, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1the VW coupe is cool, Fiscer is cool. the merc looks like a honda. front of the audi is awesome, the back looks stupid.
- inactive, on 01/18/2009, -1/+2OK, let me take a guess, a car that uses no gas and a bribe from the oil company to make sure it never hits the show room
- jeffswimmer12, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1then just check out my video i took down there then you silly goose
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSGU0CVMOzU - AMSRay, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1It's especially discouraging knowing that we had diesels and gasoline vehicles getting 50+ miles per gallon 25 years ago.
- dogstylee, on 01/17/2009, -4/+4Wow that was a really really crap story. 5 cars that nobody gives a ***** about and has probably never heard of.
- Fogell, on 01/17/2009, -4/+4If you want a good concept car take a look at the BMW Homage:
http://www.carbodydesign.com/archive/2008/04/28-bm ... - Epik, on 01/17/2009, -2/+2Karma S is interesting but others are boring. The Karma doesn't look as nice as the Vantage though. Fisker really messed up that grille.
- wracker92, on 01/18/2009, -2/+2If you want a real laugh at Detroit automotice "genius", take a look at the concept cars from 10 or 20 years ago. All these concepts are made for PR and promo. Nothing substantial is ever done to move toward any of the engineering, style or mileage improvements.
- fulecar, on 01/22/2009, -0/+0really?i didn't hit it completely :)
http://blog.fulecar.com/ - quomen, on 01/17/2009, -5/+2Hyundai Genesis ftw..
- Mookdc, on 01/17/2009, -6/+2Fisker or Audi for me.
- vacax, on 01/17/2009, -9/+4I'm sick of GM putting out a bunch of green "concept" cars they don't even have the technology to make and pretending that means they've somehow changed. Yes, they're totally making the Volt... just as soon as they figure out how it could be physically possible to make it. Or how about slapping an "Electric" badge on the back of a gas car with the tailpipes still coming out the back?
