Batman Tumbler Built With One Man's Bare Hands
gizmodo.com — Bob Dullam is a man possessed by a lot of things, surely, but mainly by the drive to build this absolutely amazing working replica of Batman's current-gen Batmobile,

- Taiyoryu, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3dugg based on thumbnail
- themastersb, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4It must have been hard to bend the thick metal with just bare hands.
- valleyman86, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1But does it turn into a motorcycle?
- 1807, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1The Tumbler didn't "turn into" a motorcycle, why should this?
- valleyman86, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0When the tumbler was destroyed the left side popped out/transformed into a motorcycle...
- Gravey9, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1agreed and the attention to detail is absolutely amazing.
- UndeadOverlord, on 08/06/2008, -2/+291Anyone else disturbed by the bulging crotch on the batsuit?
- fudged71, on 08/06/2008, -3/+20What bulge?
*clicks link again*
oh god. I am going to go scrub my eyeballs with bleach.
last time I remembered, batman had no codpiece- BoonTobias, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4***** you, two of my friends died scrubbing their eyeballs with bleach!
- fudged71, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1*fudged71 thumbs up of approval*
- To0pak, on 08/06/2008, -11/+9that's larger than necessary right guys?
right??? - rz8472, on 08/06/2008, -1/+41The person who made it deserves a codpiece after making that tumbler.
- lamiaconfitor, on 08/06/2008, -7/+0He is absolutly alowed, even if he is exggerating
- BryanTravers, on 08/06/2008, -0/+16Ya, that was a pretty generous amount of room he left himself.
- bieber, on 08/06/2008, -2/+7Unfortunately, the crotch is one of the trickier parts of superhero suits. They look best with all sleek lines, but unfortunately the male anatomy doesn't generally oblige, at least not in real life. In the movies, they can just use CGI...
- IanPR, on 08/06/2008, -3/+3By the looks of the car, he's probably compensating, and be in denial.
- bradspangler, on 08/06/2008, -0/+30I for one welcome our new, well-hung Bat-overlord.

- zippe, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2the rest of it is pretty disturbing too
- binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2I hate it when a guy is all balls and no *****!
- impedance101, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1That was just the new armor, silly. Extra protection against dog bites.
- gradivus, on 08/06/2008, -1/+3I just got back from IMAX. Best. Movie. EVER! And that bulge is the extra crotch armor, duh.
- Qtip42, on 08/06/2008, -0/+6I know he wants to be all accurate and everything but really, couldn't he just expand crotch a bit more so it's looser rather than making an nub that can't be taken seriously at all?
I mean when he shows up for a kid's birthday dressed as batman, he's going to scar everyone for life. - pinje, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1not disturbed... more amused
- binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -2/+5Bat ***** rocks!
- pilgrim3970, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Anyone else disturbed that out a picture of a totally cool recreation of batman's ride, UndeadOverlord notices the, umm modification, to the Batman suit?
- Chahrlie5, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1A man's package needs room to breathe!
- FlyCO, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3"Is that a Bat-Flashlight... Or you're just happy to see me?"
- Fubeman, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2I am assuming the reason behind this is that whoever is wearing the Batman suit will always have a boner because:
(a) He's wearing a kick-ass Batman suit and
(b) He has the Batman tumbler
- fudged71, on 08/06/2008, -3/+20What bulge?
- yellowcakewalk, on 08/06/2008, -36/+4Lots of talent, gone to waste.
- shadowman99, on 08/06/2008, -2/+36Gone to waste how? Because he didn't shill for some ***** corporation that underpaid him for his talent? Because he didn't make a "statement" with his art that satisfied you? He's happy with what he's done, and I'm going out on a limb and guessing 90% of the people who look at his pics will be impressed.
But since you think it's a waste, perhaps you would like to tell everyone what you've done with your time on earth so we can compare. After all, you are the expert.- sonick, on 08/06/2008, -3/+1I think he was talking about his batpackage.

- Waaaaalt, on 08/06/2008, -2/+29If it doesn't have a "weapons mode", shame on him!
- blueandgreen24, on 08/06/2008, -1/+4Or a detachable motorcycle.
- scojac, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2He's working on the "batpod". RTFA.
- AsSubtleAsABrik, on 08/06/2008, -5/+171I'd rather have a Lamborghini, much more subtle.
- havokzero, on 08/06/2008, -3/+57How long have you been waiting for the opportunity to say that? Given your username, I'm guessing a pretty long time.
- AsSubtleAsABrik, on 08/06/2008, -0/+15I like to think of myself as an authority on subtlety, or lack there of.
Since like July 18..
- AsSubtleAsABrik, on 08/06/2008, -0/+15I like to think of myself as an authority on subtlety, or lack there of.
- blueandgreen24, on 08/06/2008, -6/+4@Havokzero: you're a douche....but I like your style
- vodkataime, on 08/06/2008, -3/+5I see what you did there.
- chewties, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2Personally, I would take the MV Agusta.
- Soulbow2, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Personally, I would take the Batmobile. The Agusta may be only 1 of 100, but the Batmobile is one of its kind on the road.
- waterboy1628, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Unfortunately, you can't get a Lamborghini for $50,000-$70,000.
- RichardedHarris, on 08/06/2008, -0/+0ahh, but can a lambo smash through walls and blow ***** up?

- Darksider, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4His first act as Batman beat the ***** out of Joel Schumacher
- mikesly, on 08/06/2008, -7/+13You sir, who has built this contraption, are a complete and utter badass!
- BryanTravers, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Duh, look at that crotch on the Batsuit.
- Strungout, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1agreed! my first reaction after seeing it was something along the lines of "Holy ***** *****!"
- mikesly, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1I get dugg down for stating a fact that the guy is a badass? Gotta hate digg sometimes...

- imnojezus, on 08/06/2008, -1/+107Bare hands? I'm guessing he used a socket wrench or two.
Still... props to that guy.- directedition, on 08/06/2008, -1/+59He welds by rubbing his hands together really fast.
- Anzat, on 08/06/2008, -1/+7That or he's a Sith Lord.
- HenryLegge, on 08/06/2008, -7/+3Star Wars sucks... Face it!
- evilregis, on 08/06/2008, -2/+1He's Chuck Norris?
- directedition, on 08/06/2008, -1/+59He welds by rubbing his hands together really fast.
- RickoSicko, on 08/06/2008, -7/+3I wonder if he's got it so he can ride the "hidden" motorcycle JUST in case he gets in a wreck. Awesome, nonetheless!!
- ChrisshEnzo, on 08/06/2008, -1/+2I don't believe the Tumbler deploys the Batpod in reality. In a photo shoot in 2005 they had the two next two each other without the left side missing from the car. He would earn that bulge of pride.
- ijacker, on 08/06/2008, -6/+7"Does it have front axle? Or did he go all the way and create a system in which wheels are turned and secured from the outside?
The one picture of the front end has something blocking the view of it all."
via: http://jalopnik.com/399892/man-builds-batman-tumbl ...
ive been manually fuskering this for a bit, and can't definitively say yea or nay
the PB acct ran out of BW along time ago, it seems- gradivus, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1I think it does. The way the front wheels connect with an axle at the front(but I didnt see any tie rods for steering, but that pic was pre-completion) lead me to believe this guy went the full 9 yards.
- shadeOfGrey, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2That shot is clearly hiding the front axle. You can tell there is no mechanics for steering the wheels independently.
- ijacker, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2*thank* you
- StefanVincent, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Actually there is no front axle, both wheels are completely independent. This Tumbler is about 99% accurate. Other people have built them as well but this one is the most accurate so far. He talks about his build and what he had to do to get the front end right at chickslovethecar.com in the batmobile build forums. Theres also alot of guys there building 1989 keaton cars.
- shadeOfGrey, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1@StefanVincent Are you sure it's the same one? Pix on that site show the required mechanics on the outside of the front tires that would be required to turn, the other one seems to just be sitting on an axle.
I could be wrong though.
- lmp49, on 08/06/2008, -5/+3sure beats the hell out of my pos car
- rs2183, on 08/06/2008, -6/+2see the pic of him standing next to the wheels?
why so serious?- a22e, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Why no shoes?
- lamiaconfitor, on 08/06/2008, -2/+2Why so serious?
...Why so serious?
...WHY SO SERIOUS???!!!
- zarcu, on 08/06/2008, -0/+49It would have been more impressive if he build it in a cave.
- inverselogic, on 08/06/2008, -4/+0He is just mad because he has to do Tr2n(if you dont get this reference you suck)...
- zarcu, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1I don't. Something about Tron 2?
- AsadM, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Probably something to do with the crotch on that bat suit...
- inverselogic, on 08/06/2008, -0/+0Iron Man----> Tony Stark ---> Obadiah Stane ----> Jeff Bridges ----> Tron 1 ----> Tr2n.......
- hendonj, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Your comment would have been more impressive if you had used the proper form of "build".
- zarcu, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1I edited the comment in the last 15 seconds are didn't realize I had made a spelling error after.
- FlyCO, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1... and using a box of scraps!
- inverselogic, on 08/06/2008, -4/+0He is just mad because he has to do Tr2n(if you dont get this reference you suck)...

- Qtip42, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2I'm going to say garbage......It's usually the place where most people skimp. I'd hope not in this case though.

- xxgigavirusxx, on 08/06/2008, -12/+18The real question is
Does it blend?- zarcu, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1There is nothing that won't blend. Trust me...you don't even want to know how I came to this conclusion.
- IPublius, on 08/06/2008, -3/+3The real question is
Does it run Crysis? - atezun, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1It blends alright, it blends everything in sight.
- peanutsinmypooh, on 08/06/2008, -6/+0Now all we need is this guy in the link below to see this car up close.

- joltjake, on 08/06/2008, -0/+30Yeah, Bale was arrested for verbal assault, he never touched them.
- Redpaw360, on 08/06/2008, -7/+1LOL, Did he also create a Robo-CatWoman?
- DrunkenSavior, on 08/06/2008, -5/+8WTF is up with the Batsuit's Batjunk?
- Pusod, on 08/06/2008, -6/+0that explains why it looks so craptastic! the first time i saw it i thought what flimsey craftsmanship, they could have done much better.
- itsradBrad, on 08/06/2008, -5/+1Video of it in action will determine if its truly functional. I won't believe it till I see it.
- USER1236, on 08/06/2008, -6/+29Will you be taking da tumblah?
In the middle of the day Alfred... I don't think so
ahh da lam boh gini den sir
Much more subtle- mrkmrk, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5That made me laugh extremely hard at 3:35AM, sir.
Thank you. - g3ra1d0, on 08/06/2008, -2/+6oh, i see what you did there...it's like michael caine actually posted that...hilarious!
- StandardsDT, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5It was Bat-Pod not tumblr.
- qwkredfox, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1:D thank you for the laugh!
- mrkmrk, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5That made me laugh extremely hard at 3:35AM, sir.
- saqer, on 08/06/2008, -9/+3buried because it's not green
- lamiaconfitor, on 08/06/2008, -4/+2Does it come in black?
If they mass produce these Ill sell my soul to get one, even at 7 miles per gallon...- DavidGX, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Sorry, to fill that thing up you'll need two souls and $1500.
- HouseofEl, on 08/06/2008, -0/+47Not to take anything away from the fact that this guy did this. But it's not like this is some backyard project. This guy does this for a living. It's far from being just some dude deciding to build a tumbler. Dullam as in Dullam-Causey the same company that the Chicago Tribune referenced in their article about getting your own batman tech.
Like I said, I don't want to take anything away from the fact that he did this all on his own. Still, not some dude off the street.
http://www.dullam-causey.com/gallery- CTRaider, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Now that was a great post. Thanks for the additional information.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2ah, thank you.
- Guitarsenal, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1Every dude is some dude off the street. That's want makes him special, he has no superpowers, and yet he does stuff like this.
- digitalxn3, on 08/06/2008, -8/+2So what does he get for doing all that and spending money it...just a few Nice Wow good job and boom not even a penny. What a waste.
- iet2004, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1does anybody else remember those good old days when people were rewarded for their skills? or even when they were allowed to spend their own money on things that THEY wanted? Remember that?
- fiish, on 08/06/2008, -4/+3If you look at the large photo on the main page it appears the full body casts he may have used to make the bat suit are sitting horizontal on the rafters. Looks like there's one for the back and one for the front.
- bigdickensfan, on 08/06/2008, -4/+4is this the dad of halo cutout kid?
- angrynorwegian, on 08/06/2008, -9/+4But will it blend?
- sonicularulus, on 08/06/2008, -8/+3so, how's its crash test rating? and what kind of mpg does it get?
- Arteen, on 08/06/2008, -6/+0Batman... On the front page? NO WAY!
- soupcancooloff, on 08/06/2008, -6/+1You're Batman!

- Mist0r_Wiggles, on 08/06/2008, -2/+8if it's the real deal, then it shouldn't be.
- Schmich, on 08/06/2008, -1/+7Actually, if I remember right, the real one is street legal.
- numb, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1That depends on the laws in the state where it is registered.
- Mist0r_Wiggles, on 08/06/2008, -2/+8if it's the real deal, then it shouldn't be.
- Sefus, on 08/06/2008, -10/+3What a waste of money :(
- steandrewsven13, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6when i read the title i thought the article was going to be about chuck norris
- twmulloy, on 08/06/2008, -8/+1i barely see a resemblance.
- ButchersBoy, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1To what? Keaton's Batmobile?!!
- HoboJim, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3batman is going to be pissed when he hears about this!
- dslartoo, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Oh, that's fantastic. That guy is going to be mobbed if (when) he drives down the street in it. Very impressive work, and made without blueprints. Nice!
- ButchersBoy, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Seing as Batty has just destroyed this, maybe he can hook this guy up to get a replacement?
- krnldmp, on 08/06/2008, -6/+1It looks like *****. The motorcycle thing with the floppy guns is even more ***** than the car.
