- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2Sweet.Thats one slick design, BMW always comes up with innovative ideas.
The best thing for me was, in the video when the head lights of the car open like human eye in the video.
My concern is, will it pass the crash test; Is it too flexible for safety? - Orsenfelt, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1That is awesome! I'd love a car like that, Although, Surely it's far more dangerous to crash than a regular car..?
- jdawg, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1dang... thats slick.
- twilson44, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1Although BMW have commented that it is unlikely the system will make production anytime soon it does offer an interesting glimpse into the possibilities of the BMW Z4 Roadster's replacement in 2010. Check out http://www.eurocarblog.net/2008/06/bmw-gina-concep ... for more pics and video..

- Obishawn11, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1Slick looking car. It'd be interesting to drive it to feel how it handles since it theoretically should be much lighter of a car. A couple questions come to mind though. Would the fabric cause more drag or is it tight enough that it wouldn't? How do you wash that car? How flammable is the material? And how cold is that car in the winter (or is that material a fairly good insulator)?
- NitrousFlare, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1The next generation of fast cars.
- The_Wallbanger, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1What if it fades in the sun? Or splashes in mud puddles? Or flaps at high speed? etc....
- eejbm, on 10/16/2008, -0/+0DUGG - that’s incredible - the possibilities are amazing!
I am pretty sure, although I am as far from an engineer as you could be, that most of the structural integrity of a car is based around its frame/chassis. This vehicle would just be engineered as a prototype at the moment - If it ever comes to production I think the boffins at BMW would have thought about things like "What if it fades in the sun? Or splashes in mud puddles? Or flaps at high speed?" and they may even crash test it before hand, you know - just to check things out
