- mikexcore, on 03/28/2008, -0/+16whats up with these "top 10" and them being slideshows!
- smacksaw, on 03/28/2008, -1/+19I don't know, but until Forbes changes this slideshow garbage I am going to bury every Forbes article I see.
- viggooo, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Argh! Frikkin slideshow is a real pain!
- brundlefly76, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1I dont know who would hates these more - the readers or the advertisers paying CPM!
There is absolutely no one who benefits from those slideshows except Forbes when it reports pageviews in its media kit.
- Hobbes24, on 03/28/2008, -9/+17here's a link to Rick Astley's 1987 number 1 single, "Never Gonna Give You Up":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU- ObeseEurotrash, on 03/28/2008, -0/+5That cheered me up after seeing it was a slide show. Thanks.
- starblink, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Ouch you got me I cos is stupid really thought it was Astley's 1987 number 1 single, "Never Gonna Give You Up" but instead I got rick rolled! "church" of scientology kills.
- greatgatsbyII, on 03/28/2008, -3/+1I had to click it! I just had to! best rick roll yet.
- antonio97b, on 03/28/2008, -1/+6I wouldn't call all of these cars luxury, they are high end cars. It has sports coupes and roadsters. Forbes is starting to run out of ideas for list and creating these weird hybrids like "Luxury cars." Luxury isn't really definable but I for sure wouldn't put a sports coupe (Audi TT) in the luxury catagory.
- makkaveli19, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2it's interesting to see a diesel merc make number one. the blu-tech e-class was also world green car of the year. i don't understand why north america has such a hard time adapting to diesel, europe has been doing it for a while.
- waydee, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2The diesel in the US was dirty stuff for a long time. It took a while to get Europeans to accept diesel as well, for a long time it was seen as a dirty, noisy option and opinion only really started to change when we switched to cleaner diesel and designed better engines. It'll probably happen the same way in the states, if theres still enough life left in internal combustion.
- rizzo2008, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1US refineries are built to get more gasoline than diesel from oil and it would actually be harder for us to adapt to diesels not just because of their bad reputation here (unfortunately) but also the cost and time to add refineries that churn out more diesel fuel (Diesel is currently 0.50-0.70 more per gallon than gasoline while in Europe its cheaper than gas).
- DJDee85, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Yeah dude, diesel is stupid expensive
(like regular gasoline is much better these days)
- DJDee85, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Yeah dude, diesel is stupid expensive

- nclester, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Audi is a luxury dealer, but those aren't luxury vehicles. The R8, A8 or even S6 & S4 are luxury Audi models, not to mention their SUV joint. Top-Ten my ass, I count five and number one accepts the most expensive gas on the market. Still a crisp $50 at the tank.
That list just isn't cutting it, at all. - crownedgriffin, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2Saab 9-3 and 9-5 should be on that list as well. They both get about 30-ish.
- pjdscott, on 03/28/2008, -3/+0"Luxury", like all such relevant terms, is relative! What exactly is it? I reckon we own one of the best "luxury" cars, a Toyota Prius T Spirit - I know it would not be regarded as "luxury" by most experts but it does have most of the features (excepting rapid acceleration) that the listed cars possess. None of them even approach the mpg of our Prius - on a 50 mile drive over undulating, single and dual carriage roads, I actually matched the manufacturer's 67mg claim. Typically, we get 61-62mpg on a long motorway (freeway) drive in the summer (winter about 58mpg), for urban driving we get 55-58mph summer/50-55mpg winter (depending on temperature, etc).
A thought-provoking digg, thanks!- rizzo2008, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1You would be lucky to 50 mpg anywhere in a Prius. Its fuel economy is terribly exaggerated and its efficiency actually decreases during highway travel (typical of many hybrids) showing us you don't know what the hell you are talking about.
- buddamus, on 03/28/2008, -0/+5Might not be a luxury car but this machine is the most fuel efficient in the world
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle- crownedgriffin, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Communist!
- rizzo2008, on 03/28/2008, -0/+4Yeah but since many Americans have to commute between 7-40 miles to work a day small bikes or motorcycles just are not going to work.
- GoatMonkey2112, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2I'd ride a motorcycle if everyone else did. It's just too dangerous on roads full of SUVs.
- DJDee85, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1The rickshaw is the most fuel efficient luxurious mode of transport
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickshaw
Runs on rice and fish, mainly
- Masterful1, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2Diesel car FTW. although It probably gets better fuel mileage if your not driving it like its the batmobile.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5hhUSfvxt0 - Masterful1, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1more relevant video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fmUJatxZ_I&feature ... - ThandarGor, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1hmm, where is the BMW 520d, we've had a test here from London to Geneva and it got significantly better mileage than a Toyota Prius
- rizzo2008, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1unfortunately it is not sold in the US
- DarkDx, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Two forbes articles in the front page almost at the same time? mmm
- Treoinmypocket, on 03/28/2008, -0/+11We need a "BURIED FOR BEING A CRAPPY WEBSITE"
- joltjake, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2When are people going to get it through their heads that we do no want slide shows on the internet!
- krete, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3pagination is pointless on the internet
so PLEASE STOP DOING IT- DJDee85, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1you said pagina...lol
- rizzo2008, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1None of these cars are that fuel efficient. The best one of these 10 being a diesel should tell us something. The BMW 123d gets the equivalent of 50-55 us mpg and can still go 0-60 in under 7 seconds but unfortunately cars like this are still not sold here.
- SugeKnight, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2When I think luxury, I think MB, Porsche, Lexus, Ferrari, etc.... I do not think Volvo or Acura.
- antonio97b, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Ferrari and Porsche (except maybe Cayenne) isn't luxury. It's performance...
- wigginz, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1NO MORE FORBES SLIDE SHOWS! I can't stand the damn automatic slide shows they have. I generally open a new tab but don't necessarily go to the tab for a few minutes. Then I miss the whole thing and have to click back since there's no way to restart the stupid thing. OK, done ranting... digg me down to put me out of my misery.
- fireman8871, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1It's no luxury car but it gets 300 miles per gallon..... http://ApteraForum.com
- iamnobody8614, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1wtf. Why would you submit a top 10 list of anything and link to the 4th page (not that there should be multiple pages in the first place, but I'm just saying...).
- tonvie, on 03/30/2008, -0/+0count me in for one of those bmw's!
