- whorsiejmd, on 12/17/2007, -1/+1This was a great movie. It provides a great counter balance to the first third of Zeitgeist. Anyone who is sincere in their effort to study the best account of Christianity (and not just attack straw men all day long), whether they be theist, atheist, or agnostic, must see this film.
However, I must disagree with the brief claim in the movie against the Catholic Church. While the Church has done some evils in the past and is currently being hijacked today, I do not believe that its foundations are bad because human beings have free will and can either choose to act on the Church's doctrine or not. It is not the doctrine that has produced evil actions from those within the Church, but rather it is people who have succumbed to evil from without.
The Marian apparitions are evidence for the doctrine of the Catholic Church's goodness. Also, these apparitions are to be judged by their fruits in the case that one questions their goodness. From all that I have seen they only make those who believe in them better people who are only closer to Jesus through prayer and action.
Also, fruits are only to be taken as the immediate actions by those who are affected and acting on the thing in question. Anything father removed would not be humanly possible to judge, and Jesus would not give us advice we could never use. - hello2usir, on 12/18/2007, -1/+1Anyone who did their homework after watching Zeitgeist would realize it was a load of BS and possibly anti-christian propaganda. However when a movie such as this, produced by a protestant ministry, and tries to refute it with random sprinklings of bible quotes and scripture, I have to wonder what the point is. It's like trying to refute unicorn-naysayers by citing Harry Potter.
My advice to everyone is to not waste your time watching either movie unless misinformation is something you enjoy having.
