- MakiMaki, on 05/01/2008, -0/+43The complete list on one page can found here: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/completelis ...
- wiredgonzo, on 05/01/2008, -3/+39It's obvious from this list that Time is focused on it's American readers. I am sorry, but Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain haven't DONE ANYTHING yet that would qualify them to be on a list of the World's Most Influential People. Let's get past the d*mn election first then see which of these three truly deserves to be on such a list.
- martynda, on 05/01/2008, -2/+24Miley Cyrus... seriously?
- Thugacation, on 05/01/2008, -0/+21I wanted Steven Colbert to be #1 in Your TIME 100.
Damn you and your sexy dance moves, Rain! - vanzan, on 05/01/2008, -0/+16Never seen a more worthless list
- MurphyMac, on 05/01/2008, -2/+17Americans don't pay attention to world news. Watch the BBC news and you'll see the world. Watch American network news - you'd think Africa doesn't exist.
- alanocu, on 05/01/2008, -1/+14For whatever reason, Time Magazine's Man of the Year - 1938 - Adolph Hitler - http://www.time.com/time/subscriber/personoftheyea ...
- popltree2, on 05/01/2008, -1/+13Our very own Mr. Adelson is #86!! Congratz, Jay!
- sockpuppets, on 05/01/2008, -2/+13Adolf Hitler certainly had a major influence on the world of 1938. Albeit a thoroughly despicable influence. One would hope that Time would pick people for their positive influence on our world. Then or now.
- reflex768, on 05/01/2008, -1/+12As interesting for who writes the pieces, as who is awarded. Guy Kawasaki on Ballmer, Kissinger on Hu Jintao, Hillary Clinton on Michelle Bachelet, Wolfowitz on Anwar Ibrahim, Desmond Tutu on Peter Gabriel...good stuff.
- sockpuppets, on 05/01/2008, -1/+11Because of your failure to utilize the reply button as intended I am plagiarizing your comment and stealing your diggs.
- sockpuppets, on 05/01/2008, -1/+11What is this "Africa" you speak of?
- KyleGoetz, on 05/01/2008, -0/+9Because back then, Man of the Year meant "person with most influence," not "most admirable person."
- ILiveinmyHead, on 05/01/2008, -4/+13I agree with wiredgonzo, Time needs to focus more on the world and it's influential people. The average person on the planet has no clue who these senators are. Tiger woods should definitly crack the top 10.
- sockpuppets, on 05/01/2008, -1/+9Sure I can, watch me.
I disagree. - Owwmykneecap, on 05/01/2008, -3/+11I hate people like you.
The Time Man of the year award has ALWAYS been for the most influential and important people in any given year.
It matters not one ***** if they are good or bad.
This is a serious magazine examining world events , not religion class trying to teach ethics. - russizm, on 05/01/2008, -3/+10Where is Trent Reznor?
- KyleGoetz, on 05/01/2008, -0/+7I'm sorry. You must not understand what "influential" means. There's no way you can deny Bush has been influential--see our plummeting economy, war in Iraq, etc. That's pretty damn influential.
- aserer511, on 05/01/2008, -2/+7"I am sure that George W. Bush will be remembered as a leader of ideals, courage and sincerity. "
 - marillion, on 05/01/2008, -2/+7This week - Pick up a US newspaper, "There's flooding in Maine". Pick up a Canadian newspaper, "There's flooding in New Brunswick". Now pick up a map and find each location.
- jmpeagle, on 05/01/2008, -1/+6they caved in 2002 and put Bush instead of Osama bin Laden on the cover
- jarjarbinx, on 05/01/2008, -0/+5They forgot Osama bin Laden
- henrikakselsen, on 05/01/2008, -0/+5No Gordon Brown, no Angela Merkel, no Nicolas Sarkozy.... hmmmm
- doremon313, on 05/01/2008, -1/+5why the hell is Rain still on the list
- TacMedic, on 05/01/2008, -1/+5Thank you! the thought of having to click 100 buttons to get to the end of the list put me completely of this article.
- jmpeagle, on 05/01/2008, -1/+5Kevin Rudd is under revolutionaries
- DeepFriedFetus, on 05/01/2008, -2/+6There are an awful lot of douchebags and evil people in this list.
- KyleGoetz, on 05/01/2008, -1/+5Oh stop complaining. #2 on the list is a ***** Korean pop idol that most of the world has never heard of before--Americans sure weren't responsible for that one. How the ***** is this poll relevant? Similarly, Heidi Klum is #4? She hosts a goddamn TV show. I won't speak about Colbert because his Bump seems to be valid (e.g., Mike Huckabee's campaign).
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -3/+7Economic scholar? The guy's a former OBGYN.
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -2/+6You must not have younger siblings.
- ZeroIce, on 05/01/2008, -0/+4That was the most ***** list ever.
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -0/+4Miley Cyrus # 59, wat.
- arcticsoft, on 05/01/2008, -2/+6Didnt you know tween idols are far superior to presidential candidates that write books on the economy and influence millions to be involved in politics.
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -2/+5notice that brad pitt and angelina jolie are under the "heroes and pioneers" category. of all the categories - that's probably the last category i would have put them under.
- Owwmykneecap, on 05/01/2008, -2/+5That is a pretty awful list.
Blame the internet, who won in 2005, Chuck Norris?
I can't say anything though I voted for Shigsy. - chubbybubba, on 05/01/2008, -1/+4Someone explain to me why Kevin Rose isn't mentioned with Jay?
- seandoof, on 05/01/2008, -1/+4I literally lol'd when I read that. And then I dugg it.
- andergriff, on 05/01/2008, -6/+9This can't be right. I'm not listed.
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -2/+5buried as one of the worst lists i've ever seen.
Mike Bloomberg is listed under "scientists and thinkers." Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are under "Heroes and Pioneers." Radiohead is on the list - wtf? tony blair is on the list, despite no longer being prime minister and being one of the most hated people in the uk.
however, the photo of George W. Bush is just plain awesome. it really makes him look bad. - inactive, on 05/01/2008, -2/+5Ron Paul < LOLcats. now stfu.
- logan074, on 05/01/2008, -1/+4I believe it is an old old wooden ship.
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -1/+4How has he influenced anyone? He's only told atheists what they want to hear and pissed off christians.. All in all he hasnt changed anyone's opinion over all... but then again Brad Pitt isn't very influential either I suppose.
- LETHARGICpirate, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3mariah carey and miley cyrus.......................god save us all!
- Garlik, on 05/01/2008, -0/+3Miyamoto got first place in the reader's vote, Rain got second, and Colbert got third place.
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -0/+2The list is about influential people... not necessarily good people.
- paperclipsNsoup, on 05/01/2008, -0/+2What no Steven Colbert?
He DID make 3rd on the poll results though
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,2 ... - estate, on 05/01/2008, -0/+2Dugg for K Rudd. Although frankly if he's there so should Brown and Sarkozy.
- SpikeLee, on 05/01/2008, -0/+2Dugg for Khaled Hosseini!
