- chordataamigata, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4This is a fabulous idea and we want to spread the word and get involved. Chordata is involved with several projects, one using social and new media as a bridge between seniors and youth with both mentoring each other. Wisdom of elders and tech savvy and energy of youth ! Chordata is focused on humanizing technology as well as emphasizing the vital importance of the arts and creative thinking in our commodity/consumer driven culture. . Applied Humanism...like this concept a lot(via MIT's Creative Labs. Our motto is Share Your Toys.
We're @anodyne2art on Twitter.
Thanks for starting this up. - megfowler, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4I think it's exciting because the cause attached is one that we can combat with both financial support AND communication, and social media tools are one way that can happen effectively -- getting the message out is key, and we're really proud to support families looking to get out from under the threat of domestic violence.
- properpint, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Love it -- well done Gradon
- kligmond, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3Gradon Tripp: thinking big and using a great big social world to make it go over even bigger. Go man, go. :)
- EveLopez, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3This is a great idea - one of my colleagues is currently consulting for a mobile for change startup - it's great when social needs meet new technology. :)
- nemock, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3What a great application. Thanks for leading the charge
- eldevlin, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Sure we have fun trading urls and barbs on Twitter but sm4sc is an opportunity to show we can mobilize for a cause. This is social media's chance to promote more than just each other. I believe we truly can make a difference by highlighting worthy causes, creating buzz about them and encouraging people to give their money and their time. As sm4sc's first endeavor, helping Jane Doe, Inc is timely and desperately needed. While domestic violence rates are dropping (thankfully) across the country, they are rising in Massachusetts. We need to take action and stop this trend.
- sekala, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Interesting. You're using social media right now.
So I guess you must have something against being charitable? Go you. - likeblao, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Also noteworthy - direct link to buy tickets for the first event - http://sm4sc.eventbrite.com. I'll be there!
- marissalerer, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Totally a great cause!
- yourfuturewife, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Yay! Our first troll. Oh... hang on, I think your emo eyeliner is smudged.
- wss23, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Another great idea from Gradon! I've also stumbled it.

- mknell, on 12/23/2008, -0/+0They've just announced a new event on April 3, 2009 in New York City - check it out and get involved now!
http://www.sm4sc.com/events/nyc2009/ - azand, on 09/22/2008, -0/+0Looking forward to seeing donors and folks from Jane Doe Inc who will benefit from this first effort at http://www.sm4sc.com/events/boston2008/
- Disinterested1, on 08/28/2008, -1/+0Of course - anyone that disagrees is a troll. Typical.
Must be glorious to be so young and stupid. What color is the sky in your world?
Some day daddy will stop paying and you'll have to learn how to say "Would you like room for cream?"
Until then enjoy your fantasy land. - Disinterested1, on 08/28/2008, -3/+1This is the stupidest thing that you morons have come up with so far today. I'm confident though that you'll top yourself this afternoon.
What a total waste - and what a totally meaningless gesture.
