The same video with buffering. - jub0r, on 12/23/2008, -0/+60All that media savvy and they can't make a Flash player with a pause button or a decent buffering algorithm?

nsfw but relevant - inactive, on 12/23/2008, -2/+35Digg + Crappy Server = Not Awesome
- megamod, on 12/22/2008, -2/+22WOW. The amount of precision around the structures is RIDICULOUS, really pays off when trying to fool perception into thinking it's real.
I would LOVE to be sleeping in one of those apartments...
/s - domness, on 12/22/2008, -3/+22Some pretty amazing light effects there!
- dvsbastard, on 12/23/2008, -0/+18I know this is a little different but when it comes to buildings and projectors, I find this much more awesome:
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=DKbtTPYZEig - rawrLLC, on 12/23/2008, -1/+15can't wait to see this technology used in musical performances/live shows.
- jub0r, on 12/22/2008, -0/+14Looks like annoying Blade-Runner-style building ads aren't too far into the future.
- marshalkowski, on 12/22/2008, -2/+13Very cool. Good for getting people's attention.
- vtbarrera, on 02/03/2009, -0/+11Thanks for posting the youtube link. I had a feeling the original site would be DOA on the front page.
- AmyVernon, on 12/22/2008, -2/+11wow. that's really incredible.

nsfw but on topic - verusdies, on 12/22/2008, -1/+10Graffiti research lab would be proud...aside from the BS car branding thrown in there.
- Handonam, on 12/23/2008, -0/+8would be nice to get a video link of this that's not from that site. it's a bit too laggy, and has no controls to pause it and buffer
- psychosatori, on 12/22/2008, -3/+10FREAKIN AWSEOME
- djshui, on 12/22/2008, -3/+7It's amazing what we can come up with only using lights and the power of zeh mind
- replaysMike, on 12/23/2008, -1/+510 thumbs waaaay up!
- Lihtsaltjobu, on 12/23/2008, -0/+4This is going to earn...a lot.
- PedanticRaver, on 12/23/2008, -0/+4Step 1. Model building/whatever in 3d app. If you want ultimate precision, use the laser scanning tech that radiohead used in house of cards.
Step 2. Project your video as a texture on the 3d model
Step 3. Position cameras in your scene in the same location you will place your projectors. Use more than one if you want your video to wrap around objects.
Step 4. Get cleared for performance and profit.
Step 5. Use said profit to get a better server and hire a better coder for your flash player ;) - Culyt, on 12/23/2008, -1/+5Way to not include any kind of controls, so I'm left with a stuttering video since I can't pause it to let the buffer fill up.
***** hell how hard is it to use a decent flv player, one that does buffering and what not and doesn't ***** up as soon as you try and seek.
Anyway here is a direct link to the video thanks to wireshark, play it with vlc or whatever: http://88.191.40.176/testFINAL05.flv - Calumk, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2Is there a setup diagram or explination of technology availiable?
I would google it, but i dont really know where to start... its not just multiple standard projectors is it? - Firax, on 12/23/2008, -1/+3This is really amazing. The light projecting the effects must be so incredibly powerful. Won't recommend looking at it :)
I was just thinking about the possible commercial uses of this technology... virtually endless. Are we witnessing a revolution? - CouchTomato, on 12/23/2008, -2/+4ummmmayzyng
- masterwit, on 12/23/2008, -1/+3I think we crashed the server because its not loading here.
- SuicideMouse, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2When I can watch movies that spread over half of my home theater room in 3D like that? Yes.
- easyweb, on 12/24/2008, -0/+2Thx Digg,
Our server overloaded at 2:00 AM (french hour) and we had to react quick and now it's back on business. We added alternative links to youtube and other domains like http://www.showreel.fr or http://www.neoproj.com.
Thx for your comments we try to do our best. Enjoy other videos and contact us for further informations. - inactive, on 12/23/2008, -1/+3Could be used as a WMD to scare the ***** out of people!
- epynephrin, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2Or we'll soon see Michael J. Fox getting eaten by a digital Jaws coming off a movie theater?
- blynder, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2Back to the Future did predict this.

Or if that url doesn't work by the time you use it, just do what I did and go get a program called "Orbit" and use it to nab the flash video url for you. Considering the resolution on this video is 720x576, I think it's worth it. - TehInternetz, on 12/27/2008, -0/+2ROFLMAO! Awesome!
- ArkRaider1936, on 12/23/2008, -1/+2You could totally use that to fake a haunting in an a scheme to scare people away so that you can acquire something of value. You'll want to shut down operations if you see this http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/mysterymachine/newmys ... as it's a good bet those meddling kids and their dog are snooping around.

- SheilaNoya, on 12/24/2008, -0/+1Someone did something slightly similar to this for a huge party in downtown Los Angeles about 10 years ago.
They took photos of the buildings and projected the still images back onto the buildings at night, but moved them slowly back and forth to make it look like the buildings were moving and swaying. I thought that was amazing at the time, but it doesn't even compare to this. - Jiuzton, on 12/23/2008, -0/+1want
- FriedGeek, on 12/23/2008, -0/+1Hmmm... I have a plan forming in my head for next Halloween. My house + Measurements + Some 3DSMax + Projector + Computer.
- trig21, on 12/24/2008, -0/+1they added the player interface and alternative links.
