- MMusick, on 08/13/2009, -0/+31The bowling alley shot is awesome.
- NBCLocal, on 08/13/2009, -1/+23Great but I would really have loved some context as to where each shot was taken.

- Jensaarai, on 08/14/2009, -1/+3New Orleans is a city in a swamp. Even when all was well, it was a city of decay. And yet, the locals always took such care with the architecture. Even in decay, a beautiful old building was still beautiful, in an eery way. I think it helped shape the character of the city. There's always been this, "live life to the fullest, because tomorrow it can all go to *****" feeling here. Anything you build will eventually be reclaimed by the swamp. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't build it.
Since Katrina, of course, decay is much more widespread. When suburban tracts are left to rot, the result is blight, not beauty. That 6 flags looks much worse than it did when those photos were taken. The company is bankrupt and will never rebuild, but won't relinquish the land so something that helps the city will be rebuilt.
A certain amount of decay is to be expected in an urban setting. When forces stand in the way of rehabilitating, however, is when it becomes corrosive, and can destroy a city. The same thing happened in Detroit, where I believe most of the photos in the link were taken. - fxu1989, on 08/14/2009, -2/+4http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/6043/121602074423 ...
- Malik112099, on 08/14/2009, -0/+2Crazy to think that all of those things were at one time brand new with someone excited to make use of them.
- SolarisFlare, on 08/14/2009, -0/+2Here's a good ol canadian boy, Sam Roberts, singing about Detroit: http://www.theduplex.tv/srbdetroit67/srbdetroit67_ ...
- GorfTron, on 08/14/2009, -0/+2I love to get into old building and absorb the imprisoned spirits so I can explode when I die, like Palpatine.

- factsahoy, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Kinda spammy, given that there are no details about any of the locations and all these images are being sold by the same site. And there are no decent-sized views of them.
WEAK at best. - gdha, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Those genius. Great photos! Decaying can be beautiful.

- meatmarket, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1i love imagining how these places would have looked when they were new.
- ldennshark8, on 08/15/2009, -0/+1the photograph "mayhem in the stairwell" is reminiscent of duchamp's "nude descending a staircase". i really like the repetition of shape.
- inactive, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Kind of puts the lie to the old "picture worth a thousand word" bit, doesn't it?
- ctabone, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Another great photo set is here - Kings Park Psychiatric Center photos:
http://www.opacity.us/site3_kings_park_psychiatric ... - petersimon98, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1That is really nice way of portraying those URBAN DECAYS, which otherwise no one would be interested to look to.
- gomjabbaar, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1I suddenly feel the urge to replay HL2

Looks right to me - robinthehood, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Loooooooooooove urban decay. I remember how it made me fall in love the first time I went to both NY and London. The fact that the cities were so big, and so vibrant that they could not shut down for simple repairs so there the city keeps going, covered in a layer of soot and dirt.
- solusdotipse, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1TOADS (Temporary, Obsolete, Abandoned and Derelict Spaces)
- hazelnoot, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1I would love to make some pictures like those. (Un)fortunately we don't have enough urban decay around here.

- factsahoy, on 08/14/2009, -1/+1Exactly. Not to mention decent-sized views, even if watermarked.
This entire post is more or less SPAM. - inactive, on 08/14/2009, -2/+2I thought this article would be about makeup :(
http://www.urbandecay.com/ - VirginDigger, on 08/14/2009, -0/+0Wow, these are great locations to film horror movies. seriously.
- evolakim, on 08/14/2009, -0/+0Love the Urban Decay - Plenty of it in Pittsburgh.....Usually its just depressing...This makes it seem strangely comforting.
