- bluepass, on 09/27/2008, -0/+123It's kind of like... WinRar coming in a .rar file.
- Ryawhtny4, on 09/27/2008, -26/+92µTorrent/BitTorrent can suck it.
Transmission. - redeemed77, on 09/27/2008, -2/+62The irony...?
- mnortei, on 09/27/2008, -3/+50I find it ironic that Bit Torrent Inc. is upset about a software leak...haha
- Ongnissim, on 09/27/2008, -2/+43So... How are they supposed to download it?
- mikesly, on 09/26/2008, -0/+32I am hitting spacebar but I am still sitting...
- GMofOLC, on 09/27/2008, -0/+31They're not upset because people are using it for free, they're upset because they don't want people using it when they're not done with it yet and it has serious potential to be buggy.
- sprooj, on 09/27/2008, -0/+23Wow, just wow.
- invrse, on 09/27/2008, -3/+24Transmission.
- lesfleanut, on 09/27/2008, -0/+21I ***** you not, I once downloaded a cracked copy of winrar and it was enclosed in a rar.
- LeviTheSmith, on 09/27/2008, -3/+22http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4408869/uTorrent_f ...
- SamuraiGhost, on 09/27/2008, -2/+18Use 7-zip, it's open source and opens rar files.
- jasarien, on 09/27/2008, -0/+16If i'm not mistaken, AMD CPUs are x86 capable..
When someone says it's Intel only, they mean that in reference to the choice between PowerPC and Intel. What they should really say is it's x86 only. - invrse, on 09/27/2008, -2/+14Transmission isn't bad. I'd just like to have a little more control and options to tweak around with.
- Katana314, on 09/27/2008, -0/+11Yeah...wonder how they'll be able to download it?
HOLE IN THE BUCKET - spiffyfitz, on 09/27/2008, -7/+18I thought Transmission was based heavily off of the uTorrent codebase? I could be wrong, though.
- thelastknowngod, on 09/27/2008, -4/+14big deal. µTorrent is nice on windows because there arent many other good options. on the mac there is transmission, on linux there is ktorrent or rtorrent if you want to run a bt on a server, all three platforms can run deluge. there are so many good options out there that this is almost irrelevant.
- jasarien, on 09/27/2008, -0/+10I agree.
There's nothing worse than having some unfinished work released to the unrelenting public, only to have them slander it for not living up to expectations. They can't have it both ways. Either wait for it and get a good product, or use an unfinished, buggy, not-up-to-standards version and don't complain when it sucks - because it will. - JakeW, on 09/27/2008, -2/+12You're not wrong.
- LeviTheSmith, on 09/27/2008, -0/+9I don't think they made a Universal/PPC build
- turpenine, on 09/27/2008, -0/+8amd running leopard counts as an intel mac basically i thought.
- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -6/+14I doubt you've even tried it.
- terracottapai, on 09/27/2008, -1/+9We had Transmission.
It's just as good.
Sincerely,
Mac users - jasarien, on 09/27/2008, -1/+9Wait, Windows still has an archaic registry? *combination of snickers and giggles*
- shawnanigans, on 09/27/2008, -12/+18.... is ***** for managing larger numbers of torrents.
- CalcProgrammer1, on 09/27/2008, -0/+6AMD and Intel are the same on Mac, it means x86. If you use AMD then Intel versions of stuff will work. PPC (the old PowerPC platform that Mac used to use) will not work....actually, it should work too, pretty sure x86 OSX has a PPC emulator to run old apps with.
- birch25, on 09/27/2008, -1/+6only intel version... any links to a universal build?
- aymisho, on 09/27/2008, -1/+6for the love of the internet... SEED! :)
- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -0/+5I use transmission and tomato, they seem to work fine. but I would welcome more choices for apps.
- cruisinaruban, on 09/27/2008, -0/+5Does windows count?
- CalcProgrammer1, on 09/27/2008, -0/+5Since my college blocks BT/any other P2P protocol (idiots!) I have a Sempron PC set up at home with VNC, I can torrent stuff on that. Then I have my old P3 laptop here at college in my desk drawer hooked up to Ethernet (also with VNC) which I use to FTP stuff from my home PC to here, then I get it to my main PC through LAN. Not efficient, but it works, bypasses the block quite well.
- jmreid, on 09/27/2008, -0/+5Command-Shift-4 then Space Bar. Better way to take a single window screenshot.
- Meocross, on 09/27/2008, -0/+5Pirated OS: Check
Utorrent: Check
Pirated stuff: Check
????: ????
Profit: Check - poet, on 09/27/2008, -0/+5Isn't that called development? Oh yeah, I guess most businesses hate that nowadays.
- CalcProgrammer1, on 09/27/2008, -3/+71: Pirate OSX
2: Pirate uTorrent for OSX
3: Pirate stuff with uTorrent
4: ????
5: PROFIT!!!! (and lots of it!) - TheNik, on 09/27/2008, -2/+6Yeah but Vuze is an incredibly bloated piece of *****. My downloads are quite speedy on average with Transmission so it's not a huge deal.
- poet, on 09/27/2008, -0/+4Looks like we got ourselves a snail-paced proxy!
- iatethecake, on 09/27/2008, -0/+3that reminds me... utorrent is owned by bittorrent... im sad now...
- ethana2, on 09/27/2008, -1/+4dude, Ubuntu _comes with_ Transmission.
I still use it, it works for me. - enterneo, on 09/27/2008, -0/+3why utorrent?, transmission is equally good.
- tikibaloni, on 09/27/2008, -1/+4I feel the difference. Utorrent is alot faster. Works like magic. Only thing, its got alot of bugs
- BaKeDbEaN, on 09/27/2008, -0/+3Bury because this was on digg 3 days ago. With 1041 diggs.
http://digg.com/apple/uTorrent_s_Mac_Client_Leaked - cyberdork, on 09/27/2008, -0/+3@alanr19 : I extensively used uTorrent during my PC times. And I really don't miss it at all. Transmission in combination with TVShows is awesome. And I'm not even a casual bittorrent user. I average in 50GB (downloads) per months.
- FUR10N, on 09/27/2008, -2/+5I accidentally the alpha build
- armakaryk, on 09/27/2008, -2/+5in related news the blue angels will be doing a show in a half hour.
- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -1/+4you have to divide by zero.
- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -0/+3Ubuntu torrents, very nice.
- MasterGrief, on 09/27/2008, -0/+2Blow the ballast!
- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -0/+2I've seen worse as far as private alphas go.
