apple.com — Take a look at the bottom left of this page; Transporter 2 (20th Century Fox), Red Eye(Dreamworks S.K.G.), World of Warcraft Burning Crusade, Enigmo 2 This also confirms that the video store will not be limited to the U.S.A.

      I can imagine that there will be an actual video announcement today, however this section of the paged (linked by the original poster) appears to just be the German link to the Music Videos section of ITMS.

  • atmicrat, on 10/12/2007, -20/+4Its not gonna stop me downloading from torrents thats for sure. Apple sells ***** quality mp3s at .99 cents, the video is gonna be crap too. Im pretty sure you will have to use the crap itunes media player, and will only werk on ipod videos.

    • Frankie4Fingers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2True, industry people have been saying that people are waiting for a movie download system to come out, but there have been systems and they all haven't done too well. Maybe forcing the people with Video iPods to use their service is one way to make the site succeed.

      No Apple solution is really good. Buying a whole new computer to watch shows is lame, and using an iPod to do it when the quality on a video iPod is terrible is also not really an good option.

      I have a large HD tv, I don't want to ruin my movie watching experience by watching some lame low quality, compressed video on it for $1 less possibly then just renting the movie at Blockbuster.

    I'd also hope that the 'rentals' that have been rumored would be 1.99...

    iTunes has had movie trailers for months. Also, it's fairly likely that Disney is the only major studio on board for now, so none of those films in the list will be full movies in the movie store.

    Hover over one of the links and look at the URL in the status bar. It even says 'movie trailers'.

    • nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Well, when it happens, we can only be sure that Disney and Pixar will have movies up (both are partially owned by Jobs) but it wouldn't have been that hard for Apple to negotiate at least 1 contract with another studio and it would definitely boost my interest in it if they had maybe.... 20th century fox movies???

It lists the days since the last update of every Mac product and compares it to the average cycle of previous updates. Great tool for knowing when to buy (although there's never a way to be 100% certain.) Guess hindsight's always 20/20. Still got your receipt to return it?

    • martoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Always assume that when you buy an electronic device, that it will be obsolete within three months. Same thing happened to me when I bought my dell PDA. Shortly afterwards, they announced a new device to replace the old line. Two years later, I still use the same device and it still works for me. If you are one of the types that always needs the latest and greatest, the only thing you can do is sock away a wad of cash so you can continuously buy new devices. Otherwise, be happy with what you got.

      Also, the iPod you have is nearly a year old.... so I'd hardly say that the potential release of any new iPod would be "THIS SOON".

      The problem isn't Apple. The problem are the fankids who spend their free time making up products that they think Apple is making. They write up detailed stories about these devices and make 3d/photoshop mockups. At some point the dumber fankids start to think the products are real and are ready for release. So every time that Apple has one of these shows, they flood message boards with rumors that this is when the i(insert name here) is going to be released. Apple in reality isn't making any of these things so the fankids get let down each time.

      The Movie Store seems pretty much a foregone conclusion now, but this is not evidence, proof or confirmation of it.

      very true, especially when something is listed as an opinion piece or speculation. just because you disagree with the contents of an article or essay doesnt mean its inaccurate. people realize when something is an individual's opinion or a rumor. by the standard some people use to mark things as inaccurate on digg, every piece of philosophy and even cutting edge mathematics or science would be inaccurate because it is not a simple, indisputable, and well-established fact.
