- tobias-digital, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28it says "iTS" not "iTMS"
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Guys, this is rubbish.
iTunes has had movie trailers for months. Also, it's fairly likely that Disney is the only major studio on board for now, so none of those films in the list will be full movies in the movie store.
Hover over one of the links and look at the URL in the status bar. It even says 'movie trailers'. - NeoRicen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Good find, can't argue with that, looks like it's not only Disney and Pixar too.
- CasetheAce, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18very interesting... clicking the link takes you to a "its showtime... the itms is being updated..."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I would prefer to see UK TV Shows on sale today in the UK rather than movies.
- gklitt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I believe that the links are supposed to go to trailers (the URL has "Movie+Trailers" in it, but the content of the linked page is the important part
- bittered, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Just in case Apple decide to take it down, here's a screenshot...

See the Movie+Trailers bit? :)
Nothing confirmed. Still speculation. Time to hit that Bury button :) - vogelzang, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Quicktime 7 has been around since April 2005.
- gklitt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10"It's Showtime
The iTunes Store is being updated"
Definetely seems very authentic. Maybe they messed up their time zone conversions over there in Germany :) - smorzander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7sweet, so when does the actual event happen?
- myxyplik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Um, actually, Dreamworks == Paramont == Viacom.
- ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+71000 PST
- Aslan72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I hope the compression is a little bit better than the current videos out there; I don't know if I would want or could stand watching one of those on a larger TV.
I'd also hope that the 'rentals' that have been rumored would be 1.99...
--pete - bittered, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"Weitere Musickvideos" means "More Music Videos"... Yeah it's obviously a mistake but it's a revealing mistake.
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I always go with the MacRumors feed: www.macrumorslive.com
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Try all the time!
The problem isn't Apple. The problem are the fankids who spend their free time making up products that they think Apple is making. They write up detailed stories about these devices and make 3d/photoshop mockups. At some point the dumber fankids start to think the products are real and are ready for release. So every time that Apple has one of these shows, they flood message boards with rumors that this is when the i(insert name here) is going to be released. Apple in reality isn't making any of these things so the fankids get let down each time.
I try to warn them, but you can tell them anything. - xanik266, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The vid listings are only trailers. Dugg anyways, since iTunes store is being 'updated.' :)
- tobsterius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Dreamworks is owned by Paramount, which is owned by Viacom. Dreamworks Animation has been spun off as an independent studio.
- sajohnson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Because all of the recent apple events have been overly hyped by apple fanatics? Don't get me wrong. i love apple, and am really hoping for a new ipod, but it seems to happen a lot lately.
- Annon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Agreed, I wish people would think before they blindly digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The event won't be shown live online although a video stream is expected a few hours after it finishes.
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Also careful to note that the message reads that the iTunes Store is being updated. It's never been called anything but iTunes Music Store until today.
Hmm... - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yep, that'd be a good start. It annoys me when I see BBC shows on sale (e.g. via Unbox) when the service isn't available in the UK, when we paid for the damn content to be made in the first place.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you go to itunes and click on music store it gives you a black screen with those words as well.
- Antialias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4engadget will have a live text feed. I'm sure other sites will as well.

-engadget - Antialias, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think at least "something" is confirmed because if you go to the iTunes store right now, it just displays a "It's showtime, the Itunes store is being updated" Seems fairly obvious, but I guess they could throw us a curve.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And the kids pull out the innacurate card!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For future reference, you should check the Macrumor's Buying Guide. It lists the days since the last update of every Mac product and compares it to the average cycle of previous updates. Great tool for knowing when to buy (although there's never a way to be 100% certain.) Guess hindsight's always 20/20. Still got your receipt to return it?
http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ - awhiteflame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Edit:
Oops.. my original comment said that it worked for french too, but now that I look at it it's just movies already available.
http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/7372/frenchitunespj1.jpg - Stecchino, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Also, I'm pretty sure those are just links to movie TRAILERS, not the actualy movies. That's why games are in there too, b/c Apple hosts game trailers as well.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why do I have the feeling that Apple is not going to deliver what we are expecting?
- bennomatic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@omaryak -
If you look a little more carefully, the link goes to "Movie+Trailers", not just "movie".
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/inboundRedirect?omni-ch=Store+Front&omni-pg=Movie+Trailers&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fmoviesxml%2Fh%2Findex.xml
Not that I'm doubting the eventual outcome, but it doesn't look like this was a pre-release slip-up. - Marlon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So it begins again...engadget also reports the 'showtime' message.

Time to start saving $$ again! - tokyomonster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I noticed the same thing..
- 4815162342, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2where can we see the details of the event live? someone always posts a link...
- fraggle35, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The BBC can't sell there content in the U.K., they could offer free downloads.
- tablatronix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2People are stupid, Confirmed!
- Frankie4Fingers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2True, industry people have been saying that people are waiting for a movie download system to come out, but there have been systems and they all haven't done too well. Maybe forcing the people with Video iPods to use their service is one way to make the site succeed.
No Apple solution is really good. Buying a whole new computer to watch shows is lame, and using an iPod to do it when the quality on a video iPod is terrible is also not really an good option.
I have a large HD tv, I don't want to ruin my movie watching experience by watching some lame low quality, compressed video on it for $1 less possibly then just renting the movie at Blockbuster. - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Of course they can... Many of the best selling DVD's are BBC-made. It's done via BBC Commerical, the profit-making arm of the BBC. The profits are fed back into the BBC itself.
- angelp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This should be marked inaccurate. The URL clearly states movie trailers.
- MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm still waiting for the lossless music.
- Ubermensch423, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2why would there be red eye and transporter 2 trailers on the front page now? those movies came out so long ago that theyre even old news in europe.
- zeroreality, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Link to Engadgets 'Live' Feed:
http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/11/steve-jobs-dishes-tomorrow-at-10-00am-pst-1-00pm-est-be-there/ - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This *IS* inaccurate. That part of the page has been there all the time, and it shows off movie trailers that have been available in iTunes for months.
The Movie Store seems pretty much a foregone conclusion now, but this is not evidence, proof or confirmation of it. - gweedo767, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is still there, if you click on one you get this page:
http://phobos.apple.com/showtime/showtime.html
On that page it just says:
It's Showtime
iTunes Music Store is Updating - jccalhoun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I assume you are a linux user then? After all, it isn't as if Billy Gates, the world's richest man, is exactly poor...
- jackcall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not just Germany, I just fired iTunes up, and the Danish store says the same thing "It's Showtime The iTunes Store is being updated"
Not music store, just store... - ebmnoize, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1kevin is giving too many roses to apple
