ipodhacks.com — A very funny take on how the iPod packaging would be re-designed by Microsoft. It's also a great example for many people in the design business and what they go through on daily basis with clients.

Either you are a tech geek who knows exactly what they are really getting or techno-idiot who doesn't have a clue and is just rolling the dice hoping that it will do what they hope it will. Of course a lot of busy packaging probably convinces the latter type of person to buy the product.

great work - ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'm not an MS fanboi, in fact I like Apple, but I haven't seen any MS software packaged like this. MS is not as "sparse" as Apple, but this looks more like a copy of TurboTax.
Still funny, though. - dumb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I design newspaper ads for a living, and that vid speaks to me... It's amazing how much people think they can fit in a 3"x3" box: their logo, a description of their business, bullets with 20 word sentences describing their entire range of products, their address, phone, hours, etc, and a graphic of, say, a cow drinking a cup of coffee .. oh and also a coupon people can fill out and a map to their location .. and then they say "can you make the words bigger? the text is so small!" ..
